MEKONG PRINCESS - Driver D Butcher advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to the mare trotting roughly throughout the run home. | |
ABOVE THE REST - broke passing the 1700 metres and settled at the rear. Broke again near the 1150 metres losing further ground. | |
MAJESTIC ONE - lay in approaching the 1150 metres and dislodged a marker peg with Driver S Abernethy momentarily dropping a foot from the sulky foot rest. Weakened final stages. |

Race 4 WANGANUI JOCKEY CLUB MOBILE PACE | |
---|---|
LADY AMEERA - broke entering the first turn and settled at the rear. Broke again near the 1600 metres. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners. Race 6 DONOGHUE FAMILY/WANGANUI MARIST RUGBY MOBILE PACE | |
---|---|
MARRERA - broke passing the 1800 metres losing all chance and was retired from the event. Driver J Abernethy advised that a rein burr had become caught on the neck strap placing him at a considerable disadvantage with the gelding then galloping and shifting out on to MOTORING MAJOR which was racing to it's outside. Mr Abernethy's explanation was duly noted. | |
ITSOKBEINGBETTER - lay out throughout the running placing Junior Driver A Harrison at a disadvantage. Over-raced middle stages. | |
JAKIRA - lay in rounding the home term and then shifted wider on the track when corrected by Driver S Abernethy. | |

FANCY SCHMANCY - restrained to the rear from its wide draw early before improving from the 300 metres to finish in fifth place beaten 5.4 lengths. Driver B Orange advised that he had not received a trail into the race as he had hoped and that had he improved earlier he felt that he would have been pushed considerably wider on the track which would have been to the mare's detriment. | |
ARCANO - weakened final turn. |

---|---|
WESTAR SAM - commenced to shift ground outwards near the 300 metres momentarily placing ANNA BARCLAY in restricted room before being corrected by Driver Z Butcher. Held up early final turn. | |
