Race 2 - RESENE COLORSHOP PACE
Trainer C Barron advised Stewards on 27 February that RAKAGEM has recovered well following its run at Forbury Park on 21 February and will continue with its current preparation.
Race 5 - DUAL CODE AT WINGATUI 25TH MARCH MOBILE PACE
Trainer B Norman advised the Stewards on 3 March that following its disappointing performance HONOUR SCROLL had shown signs of a minor stomach illness on return to its home base. Mr Norman added the mare had been working well since and would now continue on with its current campaign.

Race 1   CENTREPOINT & SOUTH CITY LIQUORLAND TROT
BIG IRON - broke passing the 1900 metres losing considerable ground.
STAR DUDE - lay inwards rounding the final bend and was unable to be fully tested throughout the run home, with driver B Williamson advising that due to this he did not activate the removable deafeners applied to the gelding.
THE COMMANDO - fractious prior to the tapes being released. Driver M Williamson advised he would be recommending gear changes prior to the gelding racing next.
GAZZA GALLEON - raced wide into the first bend.
CHINESE WHISPER - driver N Williamson reported he did not activate the removable deafeners applied to the gelding due to having the field covered.
SOUTH PARK - broke passing the 1850 metres losing considerable ground.
ROBO TROUBLE - began awkwardly.
SPUR ME ON GENTLY - trotted roughly in the early stages and broke passing the 2000 metres, then broke again on numerous occasions throughout the event. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Trainer/driver T Robertson advised he would no longer be persevering with SPUR ME ON GENTLY as a racing proposition from his stable.
Race 2   HOMESTEAD COBB & CO. FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
JAFFIE J - held up for racing room throughout the home straight.
SORRY NO CHANGE - trainer B Gray was warned for failing to have his horse in its allocated stall by the prescribed time.
DAMETORO - hung inwards on various occasions throughout the event. When questioned regarding the performance driver D Butcher confirmed the filly had raced ungenerously throughout. Trainer S Boyd advised the filly would be returned to the trials.
I'M SICK OF EXCUSES - hung inwards throughout the run home.
DELIGHT - raced wide into the first bend.
TUAPEKA JESSIE - out of position at the start despite the urgings of junior driver E Barron. Hampered passing the 400 metres.
RAKABEACH - stood on the mark and initially refused to move away with the body of the field, taking no serious part in the event. The All Clear was delayed until the Stewards had viewed the films of the start, after which the filly was declared a non-runner pursuant to Rule 213(1)(e). Stood down pending one satisfactory mobile trial.
INDULGENCE - hung on various occasions throughout the running.
Race 3   WAIKIWI TAVERN MOBILE PACE
AMBASSADOR - weakened from the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a high respiratory rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with trainer N Williamson in the coming days.
DALLAS GRIMES - paced roughly passing the 850 metres.
VIN SCULLY - raced wide in the early stages.
BETSTARS BLUE JEAN - held up for racing room exiting the final bend.
TAD LINCOLN - hung inwards passing the 850 metres.
KIWIS ARE FLYING - raced wide from the 1000 metres.
Trainer N Williamson advised Stewards on 9 March that AMBASSADOR has been retired from racing.
Race 4   WAXYS IRISH PUB HANDICAP TROT
ANOTHERSUPERSTAR - broke racing into the first bend. Weakened from the 600 metres.
GRACE O'MALLEY - broke briefly at the start. Hung inwards and broke passing the 1800 metres.
SCARLETT LANE - broke racing into the first bend.
MY AMOUR - broke at the start. Weakened from the 600 metres. Trainer J Douglas advised he would no longer be persevering with the gelding as a racing proposition from his stable.
ROBBIE ROYALE - broke shortly after the start. Hung inwards rounding the bend passing the 1900 metres.
THUNDER BUDDY - paced away losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
DIPENDRA - broke racing into the first bend.
WEE MAN TROUBLE - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
Starter Mr B Ward was shown a replay of the start and spoken to advisedly regarding the actions of a starters assistant once the tapes were released.
Race 5   ELMWOOD CATERING MOBILE PACE
There was a considerable delay to the start of this event due to the incident with HARRYDAHORSE and the sulky being replaced on BLACK OPS.
IWANADANCEWITSUMBODY - junior driver E Barron was advised to change her whip action.
BLACK OPS - the sulky required replacing prior to the start. Hung inwards racing into the first bend. Raced wide in the early stages before being restrained to take cover passing the 1700 metres. Hung inwards in the early stages of the home straight placing an inside runner in restricted room.
EXCELLENT - held up for clear racing room passing the 300 metres and in the early stages of the home straight.
THEODORA HOPE - broke in the score-up losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
KAGEE VC - had to be steadied when placed in restricted room in the early stages of the home straight. Held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight.
HARRYDAHORSE - displayed poor barrier manners, lashing out and getting its hind legs entangled in the dust sheet of the sulky with the gelding falling to the track. Subsequently declared a late scratching at 2.35 pm. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have superficial lacerations and bruising to both hind legs. Stood down pending two satisfactory trials prior to racing next.
Race 6   SPEIGHTS ALE HOUSE MOBILE PACE
TEAM KIWI - hung inwards and paced roughly passing the 50 metres.
WOLF WEST - lost contact with the field passing the 600 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver M Anderson advised that although he considered today to be a step up in class the gelding had felt lethargic throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
Race 7   ILT NUGGET FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
MAAHES - broke in the score-up and was out of position at the start, losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
STINGRAY TARA - paced roughly through the middle stages and again paced roughly passing the 400 metres when forced wider on the track.
CALICO HILL - raced wide in the early stages.
HUNTAWAY - raced wide in the early stages. Driver N Williamson advised the gelding had come in contact with the mobile barrier arm prior to release and paced roughly in consequence. Returned to the birdcage with blood present in the mouth with a post-race veterinary examination revealing no injury. Mr Williamson further advised the removable deafener cord applied to the gelding had broken, resulting in only one side activating. The gear was subsequently inspected and found to be in good condition.
BURLINGTON - over-raced passing the 1750 metres when there was a slight easing of the pace.
Race 8   NORTHERN TAVERN AUTUMN CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
SAGWITCH - broke at the start losing several lengths.
ROYAL BENGAL - hung inwards rounding the bend near the 1900 metres.
BACK IN BLACK - forced wider on the track when attempting to improve from the 600 metres. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding driver D Butcher advised he was pleased with the effort.
Race 9   ASCOT PARK HOTEL MOBILE PACE
ANSETT FLIGHT - raced awkwardly on the final bend making contact with several track markers.
I'MALLABOUTTHEBASE - held up in the early stages of the home straight.
ARDENT LUSTRE - hung inwards racing into the first bend.
MELINA LOWE - weakened from the 600 metres. Trainer/driver C Ferguson advised he will have blood tests conducted on the mare. Stewards will follow up in the coming days.
Trainer C Ferguson advised Stewards on 9 March that blood tests taken from MELINA LOWE following its disappointing performance at Ascot Park on 3 March revealed some minor abnormalities with the mare being given a brief freshen up before resuming.
Race 10   LONE STAR CAFE & BAR MOBILE PACE
LOVE THE BLUES - over-raced through the middle stages. Hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
MIGHTY GEORGE - raced wide in the early stages.
THISLADYROCKS - raced wide in the early stages.
THE MIGHTY CULLEN - raced wide in the early stages. Raced wide rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver M Williamson advised that he was disappointed with the gelding's effort. Trainer A Hunter advised that the gelding would be sent for a freshen up.
FINN THE BELLIGERENT - raced wide rounding the final bend.
DELIGHT N GOLD - hung outwards passing the 900 metres.
LIFEOFBRIAN - out of position at the dispatch despite the efforts of junior driver M Hurrell. Held up exiting the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. Held up again over the concluding stages and when being steadied was placed in restricted room close to the wheel of THISLADYROCKS and broke just short of the winning post.
G T REACTOR - out of position at the dispatch despite the efforts of driver S McNally. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ALTIMETER - paced roughly in the score-up and was out of position at the dispatch. Driver M Anderson reported the gelding had resented the grit and he would be recommending gear changes prior to racing next. Held up for racing room passing the 400 metres. Shifted outwards through the middle stages of the home straight.
