KOLOVOS - paced roughly shortly after the start and had to be steadied.
DADNDAVE - lay inwards throughout the final straight.
BETTORSTARTDREAMING - over-raced in the middle stages.
ULTIMATE SNIPER - paced roughly near the 400 metres having to be steadied losing several lengths in consequence. When questioned regarding this Driver T Williams could only advise that the colt had become uncomfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days.

PUMA ROAD - shifted outwards at the start and was slow to begin.
DAUNTLESS - inconvenienced passing the 500 metres by a tiring runner.
MONARCHY INVASION - weakened passing the 500 metres.
WESTY BOYZ - raced wide in the early stages.
NATTY PAGGER - broke after 100 metres and then again shortly after, losing its chance.
KRATOS - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
BRO FAWKES S - hampered slightly at the start. Inconvenienced passing the 500 metres by a tiring runner. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
 
Race 3COKE NO SUGAR MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
BLACK ART - over-raced middle stages. Gave ground after sitting parked near the 500 metres. When questioned regarding his decision not to surrender the parked position between the 1100 metres and the 900 metres. Driver S Abernethy explained that the improving TROUBADOR appeared to be racing roughly and laying inwards and so allowed his runner to improve to maintain the parked position. He added that he had been advised by the connections that the horse lacked speed and in their opinion was best driven towards the front and ensure a consistent tempo. He further said he had been very disappointed with the horses efforts. Trainer S Telfer when questioned advised the horse had worked well in preparation for tonights race and confirmed those instructions had been issued to Mr Abernethy. Mr Telfer added that he too had been very disappointed with the efforts of his runner. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. Stewards adjourned that matter to give it further consideration.
ABOUT TURN - raced wide in the early stages. When spoken to regarding the colt's performance Driver T Mitchell could only advise that he had been disappointed with its efforts. Trainer M Berger advised that it was his intention to have blood tests completed in the coming days and undertook to advise Stewards of any findings.
MADAME CONNOISTRE - raced roughly shortly after the start. Held up throughout the run home. Lay inwards over pylons near the 180 metres when shifting ground.
JACK TAR - raced wide from the 1200 metres.
TROUBADOR - broke when attempting to gain the parked position near the 800 metres.
COURT ON THE EDGE - held up early stages of the run home.
BLARNEY BABE - held up near the 150 metres when attempting a marginal run.
 
Race 4SIMS PACIFIC METALS NORTHERN BREEDERS STAKES (HCP TROT)Video  Video 
MISS BLISSFUL - held up on the final bend. Broke near the 380 metres after shifting inwards and making contact with the sulky wheel of OUR PETITE LADY. Driver M Teaz admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly at this time with the JCA imposing a fine of $250.00.
BONNIE HIGHLANDER - raced four wide for a short distance passing the 1350 metres. Stewards investigated a possible breach of the push out rule however were satisfied that OUR PETITE LADY had commenced its outwards movement before BONNIE HIGHLANDER had reached its wheel.
ALTA VENETIA - began awkwardly.
OUR PETITE LADY - when questioned regarding the horses performance Trainer/Driver J Stormont could only advise he had been disappointed with the efforts but undertook to notify Stewards if anything comes to light in the coming days which may help to explain the run.
 
Race 5LINCOLN FARMS 'THE FOUNDERS' (MOBILE PACE)Video  Video 
TRIPLE EIGHT - held up in the early stages of the run home. Driver D Butcher was spoken to for the manner in which he drove passing the 150 metres when shifting inwards restricting the racing room available to SHILLELAGH which was taken inwards to race over a pylon. The all clear was delayed until it could be confirmed that the gelding had gained no advantage when shifting inside the winning post marker peg. In considering this Stewards noted that TRIPLE EIGHT had received pressure from NO DOCTOR NEEDED which lay in over the final stages and that at all times prior to this had been in clear racing room. Prior to the all clear Stewards also confirmed that the gelding was in its correct gait as it crossed the line.
STAR GALLERIA - raced wide in the early stages.
ULTIMATE MACHETE - raced wide from the 1200 metres. Lay inwards on the bends.
ELLE MAC - had to be steadied in the early stages when placed in restricted room.
 
Race 6WOODLANDS STUD DERBY NIGHT TURNING UP AP MARCH MOB PACEVideo  Video 
MR KIWI - paced roughly shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Lay inwards racing into the first bend. Stewards questioned Driver R May regarding the manner in which he drove racing into the first bend when IDEAL STAR was able to shift inwards from a three wide position and assume the position ahead of him. Mr May explained that he was conscious of the fact that the horse had raced roughly early and did not want to place the horse under pressure given that the horse was having it's first start right handed and in his opinion not handling that way of racing. Mr May added the horse had continued to race roughly on occasions throughout and made gear recommendations to the trainers. Stewards noted Mr May's comments however advised him not to leave himself open to query in the future.
DOUBLE ROCKET - hung inwards on the bends. Weakened from the 400 metres. When questioned regarding the colt's performance Driver S Phelan said the horse had raced keenly throughout and hung inwards causing him some difficulty. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be agitated with an elevated heart rate and showing signs of mild colic. The horse was treated on course and Stewards will follow up with Trainer A Donnelly in the coming days.
IDEAL STAR - raced wide in the early stages.
MR YIPS - caused a false start when the gelding refused to move from the pre-race formation. A warning was placed on the horses mobile barrier record. When questioned regarding his decision, Starter F Phelan advised he was concerned the horse would prove a hazard a lap on as it was proving difficult on the infield and so elected to abandon the score up. Notwithstanding this Mr Phelan was spoken to advisedly when considering the position of Mr Yips on the infield.
 
Race 7PASCOES THE JEWELLERS NORTHERN OAKS (MOBILE PACE)Video  Video 
STARRY STAR - tired from the 500 metres.
HAVTIME - over-raced in the middle stages.
BEST WESTERN - Driver S Abernethy admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted under the Use of Whip Regulations and the JCA imposed a fine of $850.00.
KAYLA MARIE - held up over the final stages.
THE BLUE BEAT - lay outwards and locked wheels with GLADAMARE resulting in the gelding breaking near the 2500 metres. Ran off leaving the final bend. Driver J Abernethy stated the filly had struggled with the pace of the race and had lay inwards on the bends and outwards on the straights. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
GLADAMARE - lay inwards racing into the first bend. Weakened near the 300 metres.

RUBY BABY - lay inwards on the final bend striking a track marker which was dislodged.
MISS SHUGA - raced fiercely through the middle stages when being restrained to surrender the parked position. Weakened passing the 400 metres.
TIFFANY ROSE - raced wide in the early stages.
A DELIGHTFUL ACT - broke after 150 metres losing its chance.
HILARY BARRY - very slow to leave the pre-race circle and had to work harder than anticipated to take up its rightful position. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the final straight.
AMAZING DREAM - wide in the early stages.
