SAYALITTLEPRAYER - Trainer D Gale was directed by Stewards to remove the nose veil from the filly following the preliminary as it was deemed to be protruding forward of the nostrils. Broke early in the score up losing all chance.
TEMPO ROSE - raced three wide in the early and middle stages before crossing to sit outside the leader.
OWHATA ANGEL - following its preliminary the Murphy Blind was removed. Broke when racing in midfield near the 1000 metres losing ground before settling at the rear of the field. Raced three wide thereafter.
ZIP CODE - late scratching at 11.30am on veterinary advice after being injured en route to the course.
MARIA KIRILENKO - was 1 1/2 lengths out of position at start despite the efforts of Driver J Abernethy. Held up rounding the final turn.

MACKALI - broke at the start losing all chance.
LUNDQVIST - slow away.
AWA CATHRINE - Driver D Moore admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted under Clause (b) of the 'Use of the Whip' regulations and was fined $300 by the JCA.
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI - broke at the start losing its chance.
AIN'T NO PRINCESS - broke shortly after the start. Broke near the 1900 metres losing further ground.
LITTLEBITOFLOVE - broke near the 2100 metres but soon settled. Broke passing the 1600 metres and then again near the 300 metres.

MR INCREDIBLE - paced roughly after racing over the crossing near the 1500 metres and lost the position on the leader's back. Broke near the 200 metres when improving down into the passing lane losing its chance. When questioned regarding the performance Driver Z Butcher advised the horse was on one rein throughout placing him at a considerable disadvantage. A final warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners record. The connections advised that they would be removing the rein burr for its next start.
BABYFACENELSON - raced three wide without cover throughout.
J BEE - raced three wide with cover throughout.
NOTORIOUS - over-raced early stages.
KAROLYI - raced three wide with cover throughout.
OUTLANDER - broke in the early stage of the score up but was in position prior to dispatch.
IDEAL TIGER - broke shortly after the start losing ground before settling.

TAMARA GOLD - weakened final turn inconveniencing trailing runners. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
ERROL FINN - held up rounding the final turn by a weakening runner. Raced wide from inside the 400 metres.
LADY SANTANNA - held up early final turn by a weakening runner.
MARRERA - raced three wide early before improving to race outside the leader. Commenced to weaken final turn inconveniencing trailing runners. A post race veterinary examination revealed signs of muscle tie up with treatment to be administered.
LIBERAL ARDEN - held up early final turn by a weakening runner.
MRS ZIPPY - Driver A Matthews admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) in that she used her whip on more occasions than permitted under Clause (b) of the 'Use of the Whip' regulations and was fined $200 by the JCA.
WOMENINLEAGUE - held up early final turn by a weakening runner.

MONARCHY INVASION - broke near the 800 metres and settled at the rear.
SUNNY PEGASUS - trotted unevenly over the latter stages with Driver J Stormont unable to drive the gelding out to full advantage.
CRUISE ALASKA - broke at the start and settled at the rear. Broke under pressure near the 100 metres.
THE LAST GAMBLE - Driver A Donnelly admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) in that she used her whip on more occasions than permitted under Clause (b) of the 'Use of the Whip' regulations and was fined $200 by the JCA.
GREY STOKE - broke at the 1700 metres and was retired from the event.
NEED LUCK - started from the 30 metre handicap after its win at Cambridge on 24 January. Lay out throughout the run home.
KD HALL - broke after the start losing considerable ground, improved around to race outside the leader near the 1000 metres. Weakened final turn. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality other than a slightly enlarged off hind fetlock. Stewards will follow up with connections in coming days regarding the gelding's recovery.

There was a delay to the start due to the front line barrier tape breaking and having to be replaced.
PRIME SILVER - paced roughly and broke approaching the first turn losing ground.
M T POCKETS - broke after the start settled briefly before galloping again losing considerable ground and trailed the field throughout.
ALTA LEONIE - over-raced middle stages when three back on the inner and in particular near the 1300 metres placing Driver K Marshall at a disadvantage. Held up until near the 150 metres.
PARKER - raced in restricted room between the 200 metres and 100 metres of the final straight.
RED MAGIC - over-raced middle stages when racing on the running line.

FANTASIZE - when questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver T Macfarlane stated that the early effort to lead had taken its toll over the final stages.
LIVE REACTOR - paced roughly when improving around three wide during the middle stages. Lay in under pressure in the run home and had to be steadied.
COMMAND LUSTRE - raced three wide early and tended to lay in throughout.
ALLY MAE - held up rounding the final turn and early in the run home.
AWESOME SPEED - had some difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 100 metres.

CHARLIE HARPER - held up early in the run home.
MARQUIS EYRE - commenced to weaken passing the 700 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
LADY JENNY - paced roughly then broke for a stride near the 1500 metres.
RAINBOW WIRI - broke shortly after the start galloping a considerable distance before settling. Broke late in the run home.
CARRERA SKY - stumbled after having been shifted wider on the track by BUBBLE GUM near the 300 metres.
MANIHIKI PEARL - shifted out abruptly near the 250 metres when Driver A Poutama was activating gear. Mr Poutama was subsequently cautioned for his lack of control in this incident. In mitigation the Stewards took into account that the activation cord for the deafeners broke.
