Race 1 - ASURE SUNDOWNER MOTEL TROT
Trainer M Smolenski advised Stewards on 22 January that a veterinary examination of CHAMPAGNE PRINCE including an endoscopic examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Mr Smolenski added that he would add a cornell collar to the gelding's gear and return the horse to the trials before resuming.
Race 6 - INTERISLANDER MOBILE PACE
Trainer J Bartlett advised Stewards on 25 January that blood tests on THE KAIK revealed no abnormalities and the gelding will carry on with its current preparation.
Race 7 - LES HOPE MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
Trainer G Smith advised Stewards on 23 January that SCARLETT BANNER had sustained some irritation to its legs where the bandages had been applied and accordingly it was his intention to freshen the mare prior to racing next.
Race 8 - ISABEL WINES HANDICAP PACE
Trainer D Thompson advised Stewards on 24 January that blood tests have revealed that ABIENTO was suffering from a viral infection and is now receiving treatment prior to resuming.
Race 9 - 2019 SUMMER FESTIVAL MARLBOROUGH CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 23 January that YOUNG CONQUEROR has been examined by his veterinarian, including blood tests and an endoscopic examination which have revealed no abnormalities. Mr Todd added that the horse has been treated with antibiotics as a precaution.
Trainer D Flint advised Stewards on 24 January that a veterinary examination subsequent to HIDDEN DESIRE's last start has failed to detect any abnormalities. Mrs Flint added that she will be making gear changes prior to the gelding racing again.

XMAS BAY - hung inwards racing into the first bend and struck a pylon which was dislodged. Weakened from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
FRANCO SHERBORNE - had to be steadied in the early stages when placed in restricted room.
ZULU COURAGE - held up final bend and in the early and middle stages of the run home.
BETTOR BACKIM - raced wide early and middle stages. Over-raced for a distance passing the 1400 metres when attempting to restrain to obtain cover.
DEN'S LEGACY - driver S Murtha was issued with a warning for the manner he drove in the early stages when shifting inwards despite not being sufficiently clear of FRANCO SHERBORNE.
GO GETTA - hung outwards in the early stages. Driver S Wigg reported she had not activated the gelding's deafeners and sliding blinds as it had given her some steering difficulty.
HIGHLAND REIGN - back slightly at the start due to the outside runner laying inwards and restricting its available room.
STOPPITT - raced wide early and middle stages. Lay inwards on the bends. Restrained passing the 1100 metres after being unsuccessful in attempting to improve to the parked position. Weakened from the 700 metres.

TONIQUE DE FEU - broke shortly after the start. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight. Authorisation of 5th placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages
ZEDDIE MARIT - a false start was declared when ZEDDIE MARIT broke in the score up checking a trailing runner. Driver M Hurrell elected to move to the outside unruly position for the restart. Broke in the score up losing all chance. Will continue to be drawn unruly for mobile starts.
I'LDOITMYWAY - broke as the start was effected hampering a trailing runner. Again broke approaching the 1200 metres.
COUNT EYRE - retired from the race passing the 1300 metres after the outside sulky tyre came adrift. Driver R Close reported the wheel had deflated shortly after the start.
CHIVASION - hung outwards in the home straight.
RITEUR - held up throughout the run home. Driver M Williamson advised he did not release the deafeners in consequence.
SOME TIME - hampered at the start by a breaking runner. Lay inwards throughout and broke near the 200 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
JAKE THE MUS - raced wide from the 850 metres.
JERRY GARCIA - raced wide early stages. Held up early stages of the run home. Driver L O'Reilly dropped both feet from the sulky footrest over the concluding stages when his seat slipped.
RYDGEMONT SON - trotted roughly final bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.

THE GOVERNOR - raced wide early stages. Weakened final bend.
FRANCO TEXAS - held up final bend.
SENORITA MARGARITA - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S O'Reilly. Over-raced in the middle stages. Held up final bend.

OHOKA ACHILLES - paced roughly in the score up and was back slightly at the start. Raced roughly in the early stages and got back as a result.
MAINLAND REACTOR - paced roughly in the score up and was back slightly at the start.
PILCH - driver T Williams was shown the films and reminded that it was expected that he drive his horse out until the conclusion of the race when in a stake bearing position.
KATCHALIGHT - raced wide early stages.
HASTA LA VISTA - hung outwards in the score up and was back slightly at the start. Raced wide early stages. Continued to hang during the running.
GOODTHINGSTAKETIME - broke in the early stages of the score up and was back slightly at the start.
 
Race 5INKWISE MOBILE TROTVideo  Video 
MONRIKA - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Held up for clear racing room in the home straight.
AORANGI - broke racing into the first bend losing its chance.
RACHMANINOV - the shin boots were removed prior to the start.
TOPNOTCH TITAN - broke as the start was effected losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
UNIQUE MARSHALL - raced wide early stages.
GALLEONS GLORY - raced wide early stages.
DOLLY JONES - broke when shifting outwards on the first bend.
LISA MARIE P - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
TEHORO DAZZLE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight. Stewards questioned driver R Holmes regarding his decision not to attempt to take the available run in the passing lane but instead persist with an outside run which did not eventuate. After considering the explanation of Mr Holmes and reviewing the films, the matter was adjourned.
SUCH FUN - held up for clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
SUPERFAST MAGGIE - broke in the early stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Weakened final bend.

AGATHA TYRON - weakened final bend.
THE DOMINATOR - struck pylons passing the 150 metres. Driver C Thornley reported the gelding had locked on the outside rein causing him difficulty. Notwithstanding this Mr Thornley was advised to make a greater effort to avoid striking track markers in future.
SMOKEY MAC - trotted roughly and hung inwards over the concluding stages. Driver M Williamson was shown the films and issued with a warning for failing to maintain a straight course throughout the run home.
DOCTOR BONES - weakened final bend.
GREAT THINGS HAPPEN - the required veterinary clearance was received. The rein pricker was removed prior to the start.

FUN IN THE DARK - shifted inwards and struck a pylon near the 150 metres. Driver M Hurrell was warned to make a greater effort to avoid striking track markers.
THE TIN SOLDIER - over-raced middle stages.
MOSSDALE ROSE - the connections advised the mare would be racing in foal.
STEP UP - raced wide early stages.

ART COURAGE - held up throughout the run home.
ANNA BARCLAY - raced roughly on the bend near the 1600 metres. Held up early stages of the run home.
MOSSDALE ART - weakened over the final stages. When spoken to regarding the filly's performance, driver B Hope could only advise he had been disappointed with her efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery and nasal discharge. Co-trainer G Hope advised he would have his veterinarian complete an endoscopic examination in the coming days and report the findings to Stewards.
TIGER SWIFT - raced wide early stages.
DIZZY MISS LIZZY - raced wide early and middle stages.
CHRISTIAN WHO - paced roughly near the 700 metres when there was an easing of the pace.
DIBABA - co-trainer T Chmiel advised Stewards that the mare has had a wind operation since last racing.
SAMSKARA - raced wide early stages. Over-raced for a distance passing the 1300 metres. Weakened from the 500 metres.

SPEEDY COMMAND - trotted roughly through the early stages having to be restrained.
ANOTHER CHAPTER - driver J Curtin reported that he was not able to release the deafeners. Trainer J Whittaker was issued with a warning for failing to ensure they were correctly applied so as not to malfunction.
TAKE AFTER ME - lay outwards under pressure through the final straight. Driver R Houghton was spoken to advisedly.
SIOUX PRINCESS - broke at the start and lost its chance.
IN SEQUENCE - late scratching at 11am due to being lame. A veterinary clearance is required prior to resuming.
ONE OVER DA SKYE - broke approaching the 2000 metres.
MAJESTIC HURRICANE - broke briefly at the start then trotted roughly through the early stages having to be steadied.
THEODOSIA - broke near the 2100 metres. Broke again near the 900 metres and the 350 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
SUNDONS FLYER - trotted roughly shortly after the start.

EJA PATRON - over-raced passing the 1400 metres when being restrained to obtain cover.
