Trainer T Herlihy advised Stewards on 7 January that thorough veterinary checks of TEMPORALE have revealed no abnormalities with the gelding continuing with its current preparation.

Driver B Towers (GEOFF'S LEGACY) admitted a charge under 869(2) in that he used his whip in contravention of clause (b) of the 'Use of the Whip' regulation and was fined $200 by the JCA.

ABOVE THE REST - slow to begin and broke shortly after losing its chance.
PHOEBE IMPERIAL - broke at the start and trailed the field. Broke again rounding the final bend.
THE LAST GAMBLE - raced three wide from the 800 metres and gave ground on the final turn.
NEED LUCK - tended to shift out under pressure in the run home.
LUCK OF THE MOMENT - lay out throughout the straights when trailing the leader.

ALL YOURS - tightened briefly at the 1750 metres and paced roughly for several strides.
BLACKFORT DOWN - lay in near the 1750 metres when improving to lead and tightened ALL YOURS for several strides.
MR INCREDIBLE - broke approaching the 550 metres. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners record.
CHOSEN MAJOR - raced three wide for the first 600 metres before crossing to race outside the leader.
BLAKE - broke near the 1400 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners record.

BUGALUGS - held up early rounding the final turn.
ATOM HANOVER - lay out under pressure in the run home.
AMARO - raced three wide early before being restrained to the rear.
WICKLOW STAR - the boring pole was removed prior to the start following the preliminary. Paced roughly for several strides near the winning post on the first occasion.
ALLONBLACK - over-raced middle stages.
RAINBOW WIRI - tended to lay in throughout the run home and was then inconvenienced near the 50 metres when inside runners shifted ground outwards.
JAKIRA - lay in near the 400 metres losing several lengths.
CARLAW PARK - Trainer S Telfer was issued with a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100.00 for presenting the gelding with blinds which were not notified. When questioned regarding the performance Junior Driver J MacKinnon stated that the gelding wears a Murphy Blind on the near side and felt that this may have contributed to it showing little when asked for an effort early in the run home. He further stated that he would recommend to connections to make a corrective gear change prior to resuming.
MISTER SLICK - held up throughout the final straight.

MARIA KIRILENKO - paced roughly late in the score up.
DOWNTOWN BABE - paced roughly for a distance passing the 1100 metres when the paced eased. The offside number come partially adrift in this incident.
MHAI TICKLED PINK - lay out when being steadied near the 1100 metres which resulted in a easing of the pace back through the one out running line.
POCKET MISS - lay in contacting pylons rounding the final bend.
TRIOLET - raced three wide without cover from near the 1200 metres and commenced to give ground approaching the 400 metres.
GOLDEN QUEST - had to shift ground outwards during the final straight to obtain clear running.
COOL AND CALCULATING - paced roughly for a distance passing the 1100 metres when the pace eased and shifted out to avoid the wheel of DOWNTOWN BABE. Forced to race four wide without cover from near the 800 metres.

GO TODDY - weakened from the 250 metres.
CHEDDAR'S PRINCESS - weakened from the 900 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
JACK TAR - raced four wide from the 750 metres.
BIT OF A TIGER - raced greenly near the 1100 metres when attempting to hold the position outside the leader. Held up early final turn.

LIKE A WILDFIRE - had a tendency to lay in throughout the running. Hampered entering the final straight.
DELIGHTFUL ZEN - paced roughly when placed in restricted room to the inside of BAQUERO, which lay in, entering the final straight and dropped back onto LIKE A WILDFIRE which was hampered.

CREDIT MASTER - contacted track markers rounding the final bend.
MAJESTIC ONE - Trainer J Abernethy was issued with a $25 colour fee. Broke at the start losing its chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners record.
THE ALMIGHTY JOHNSON - unable to hold the back of TEMPORALE when the tempo increased markedly when SPEEDING SPUR improved forward approaching the 1000 metres which enabled that runner to shift down to trail the leader.

JACK'S LEGEND - trailed on the outer but failed to make up any ground in the run home to finish in 7th place beaten 5.7 lengths. When questioned Driver Z Butcher could offer no explanation for the performance and added that he was slightly disappointed with the run even taking into account the 26.5 second final 400 metres.

MADAME CONNOISTRE - over-raced middle stages. Lay in and contacted marker pegs rounding the final turn before laying in further entering the home straight when racing to the inside of TROUBADOR, which also lay in, with MADAME CONNOISTRE then breaking near the 150 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners record.
TROUBADOR - lay in early run home.
AFORTUNADO - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the entire's mobile barrier record.
 
Race 10STEEN & MORROW BETTA ELECTRICAL CAMBRIDGE HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
JOMO - delayed the start after becoming fractious before bounding forward through the barrier. This gelding was placed on the Unruly for future stands. All clear was withheld to enable Stewards to view the replay of the start to confirm that JOMO had not triggered the release of the front barrier when shifting forward just prior to the start being declared.
COMMANDO ONE - broke entering the first turn losing considerable ground.
SEX ON FIRE - lay in and contacted several marker pegs passing the 200 metres.
SERTORIUS - paced shortly after the start losing considerable ground before catching the field in the middle stages.
GERSHWIN - raced three wide for a considerable distance in the middle stages.
