MR INCREDIBLE - inclined to pace roughly after the start.
WHATCHAGOT - shifted in early in the run home and raced inside the marker line before being corrected back out onto the racing surface but then contacted a number of markers when racing in restricted room to the inside of KAYSAYRAH. Junior Driver N Delany assisted by Driver Z Butcher, admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly by failing to take the necessary corrective action to prevent his mare from shifting down inside the marker line early in the run home. The JCA imposed a fine of $300.00.
ALL YOURS - held up in the early stages of the run home.
TURBO - held up early final turn.
NEW FRONTIER - paced roughly inside the 400 metres. Broke after contacting the sulky wheel of E CAT as that runner was shifting ground outwards near the 200 metres and lost all chance. An investigation was held into this incident and it was established that NEW FRONTIER had contributed by laying in at this stage however Driver J Dickie (CALLIE'S DELIGHT) was warned to exercise greater gear when shifting ground in the future.
E CAT - caught three wide early. Momentarily raced wider on the track passing the 1300 metres when PHIL BROMAC was improving to its inside. Raced three wide with cover thereafter.
CARSE O FERN TOM - raced greenly in the score up and was back from position at dispatch despite the efforts of Driver T Mitchell.
PHIL BROMAC - raced three wide from the 1300 metres. An investigation was held in to an incident near the 1350 metres where CARSE O FERN TOM raced wider on the track after PHIL BROMAC shifted away from the marker line. It was established that Driver T Mitchell elected to shift CARSE O FERN TOM three wide to improve and no further action was taken. A further investigation was held into another incident near the 1300 metres where E CAT raced wider on the track after PHIL BROMAC shifted out to a three wide position. It was established that Driver D Butcher had commenced to improve PHIL BROMAC outwards prior to E CAT covering his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
