Race 7 - LINCOLN FARMS BLOODSTOCK 2018 FRANKLIN CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
Trainer B Purdon advised Stewards that JACK'S LEGEND had an elevated temperature in the days subsequent to this race to which in his opinion may have contributed to its disappointing performance. Mr Purdon further advised that the gelding had responded favourably to treatment and has pleased him in work since with the Auckland Cup being the next race on its programme.
Race 9 - IRT MOBILE PACE
Trainer R Dunn advised Stewards on 19 December that TUAPEKA TRICK was found to be suffering from a virus when competing at Auckland on 14 December and will now return to Christchurch.

Trainer R Dunn advised Stewards on 19 December that AWESOME SPEED has been treated for muscle tie up since racing at Auckland on 15 December and will now be given a brief freshener.

LUCK OF THE MOMENT - lay in on the bends and in particular on the final turn before galloping near the 250 metres losing its chance.
KRATOS - Driver S Lawson reported that he had not activated the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
KAI TIME - trotted roughly and raced keenly throughout when leading.
AGOSTINI - Co-trainers P & V Blanchard were issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 for presenting the gelding with the incorrect saddle cloth number. Raced three wide early and then broke near the 400 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.

TRIPLE EIGHT - paced roughly early in the score up and again at various stages of the running.
 
Race 3PGG WRIGHTSON MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
ARTSTANDING - paced roughly shortly after the start and then broke entering the first turn before settling towards the rear. A warning was placed on the colt's mobile barrier manners. Held up rounding the final turn and early and middle stages of the run home.
CARLAW PARK - Junior Driver J MacKinnon reported that the gelding cast its near fore plate during the running. A post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the sole of the hoof which required treatment.
DRUM WITHERS - held up early on the final turn.
CRACKARED - lay in rounding the turn near the 900 metres. Held up throughout the run home when unable to secure clear running.
RUBY ROSE - checked and paced roughly approaching the 350 metres having to be steadied, losing ground and considerable momentum.
TROJAN BANNER - shifted down to the marker line rounding the first turn by an outside runner. Driver A Poutama admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 350 metres causing interference to RUBY ROSE. The JCA imposed a suspension of Mr Poutama's Drivers licence from the conclusion of racing on the 24 December up to and including the 31 December 2018.

NAKURU - inconvenienced final turn by a weakening runner losing momentum.
REVOLVER - raced three wide early before crossing to lead near the 1100 metres.
MAKE WAY - had some difficulty obtaining clear running early and middle stages of the home straight.
CYCLONE BANNER - weakened final turn inconveniencing a trailing runner. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. When questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver T Macfarlane stated that he was not overly disappointed given the fast time recorded in what was a rise in class however undertook to advise Stewards if anything untoward surfaced subsequent to the meeting.

RECKON IM SMART - lay in rounding the bends when trailing the leader and in particular on the final turn contacting markers pegs and placing Driver M McKendry at a considerable disadvantage.
SHEFFIELD SPARKY - lay in rounding the final turn and then broke passing the 300 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
 
Race 6CROMBIE LOCKWOOD BLOODSTOCK MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
ADIEU FLIRT - shifted out under pressure early in the run home and had to be corrected.
ROCK N SHARD - raced in restricted room briefly passing the 100 metres.
MACHS MARETA - had to shift inwards to obtain clear running near the 100 metres.
RUEBE STAR - lay out during the latter stages of the score up and was back from position at dispatch. Driver T Lethaby reported that the near side sulky tyre deflated during the middle stages with the tube coming away from the rim placing the mare at a considerable disadvantage over the final stages.
AMERICAN EMPRESS - Junior Driver L Whittaker reported that the inside sulky tyre deflated rounding the final turn.
ZEALAND STAR - broke late in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners.
SPIRIT OF ANZAC - paced roughly entering the first turn and then broke before settling at the rear. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
 
Race 7DUNSTAN SUMMER SERIES MOBILE TROTVideo  Video 
ALTA VENETIA - underwent a Veterinary examination after grazing its near side hip en route to the course and was passed fit to start. Broke shortly after the start and trailed the field. Trainer I Moody advised that the mare would be freshened before resuming.
CREDIT MASTER - broke in the middle stages of the score up losing its chance. Broke passing the 1200 metres when trailing the field.
KD HALL - trotted roughly and then broke passing the 400 metres.
LOVELY BUNDY - trotted roughly rounding the first turn.
MISSANDEI - shifted out early in the run home.

GHOSTWRITER - held up early final turn.
BETTATHANAPOKEINDEYE - broke near the 1400 metres, checking a trailing runner and lost all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
COURTNEY JANE - checked approaching the 1400 metres and had to take evasive action losing ground. Paced roughly approaching the 250 metres and weakened final stages.
FORTUNE SMILES - broke near the 1300 metres when having to take evasive action to avoid a breaking runner and trailed the field.

SAINT MICHEL - locked wheels and broke near the 400 metres losing its chance.
MASS DESTRUCTION - lay out after the start and broke entering the first turn losing its chance.
JACCKA JOSH - raced wide final turn to avoid a breaking runner.
COOL SON - raced three wide early and middle before crossing to race outside the leader near the 900 metres. Locked wheels near the 400 metres.
RAVE NATION - broke late in the score up and trailed the field throughout.
AWHI MAI - inconvenienced near the 400 metres by a breaking runner.
