Race 1MERRY CHRISTMAS HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
LEESA CASTLETON - swung sideways when the barriers were released. Broke entering the first turn, losing all chance.
MACKALI - tangled away briefly at the start.
ABOVE THE REST - weakened final bend.
DANKE - held up rounding the final bend by a tiring runner.
LAURA BUSH - shifted out under pressure in the run home.
NEED LUCK - lay in rounding the final bend despite the efforts of Junior driver B Butcher, checking an inside runner. Shifted out under pressure in the run home.
CAITLIN'S SURPRISE - lay out during the running. Checked and broke when awkwardly placed to the inside of NEED LUCK exiting the final turn.

UNCLE DREW - lay in at various stages during the running.
AMERICAN BANNER - lay out after the start. Shifted out under pressure over the final stages when clear of other runners.
SHAKE IT - raced wide early.
SHEIKH YABOOTY - paced roughly passing the 500 metres.
DOWNTOWN BABE - raced keenly in the score up and through the middle stages. Held up rounding the final turn.
GEOFF'S LEGACY - lay in rounding the final turn.
IDEAL TIGER - back from the unruly position throughout the score up.
 
Race 3OUTBACK TRADING MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
K B LA SALLE - paced roughly and was unable to maintain its position near the 1800 metres with this enabling ONEDIN PUNTER to take up a trailing position. Paced roughly again at various stages throughout the running.
MILNER - Driver S Phelan admitted using his whip on more occasions than permitted in Clause (b) of the whip regulations with the JCA imposing a fine of $200.
ONEDIN PUNTER - raced wide early. Held up final turn and throughout the home straight when unable to secure clear running.
G B BLAZE - raced four wide from the 800 metres. Weakened final bend.
JEALOUS GUY - raced keenly throughout the middle stages. Tired badly from the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small cut on the off front medial coronary band and showing signs of arrhythmia. Stewards will follow this up with Trainer D Butcher in the coming days.
MOCKINGJAY - raced keenly early stages.
 
Race 4R S FLOOR COATINGS MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
MISTER MIGHTY - broke near the 1200 metres losing its chance and was retired from the event. A final warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
LINCOLN MOMENT - over-raced when being restrained near the 1600 metres and again through the middle stages.
T C BUSINESS - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange stated that after getting back from his second row draw he had been unable to make up ground when attempting to improve wide on the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination no clinical abnormality.
 
Race 5WENHAM GRAIN & SEED MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
The track was downgraded to Easy prior to this event. Trainers were instructed to fit mudguards to sulkies.
SKY CITY KING - raced three wide without cover from the 1400 metres.
FANCY SCHMANCY - paced roughly at various stages throughout the running, in particular the final stages. Contacted and dislodged a marker peg near the 200 metres, when held up.
RACKETEERS BOY - held up early final turn.
 
Race 6GATTSCHE CONSTRUCTION MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
The track was further downgraded to Slushy prior to this event.
MARRERA - received mid-race pressure when leading. Weakened from the 400 metres.
RANGI RANGDU - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages when outside the leader and was taken forward to briefly challenge for the lead. Over-raced for a period thereafter.
ITSOKBEINGBETTER - raced three wide from the 1100 metres. Weakened final turn.
EXPRESS PLAY - held up briefly final bend. Weakened final stages. When questioned regarding the performance Driver J Curtin could offer no explanation.

FRANCO EMPIRE - paced roughly passing the 2000 metres.
 
Race 8CARTOWN MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
BLACK ART - over-raced middle stages when outside the leader. Weakened concluding stages.
GOTTA MOMENT - over-raced middle stages when trailing the leader. Held up momentarily final bend.
FRANCO HAMPTON - awkwardly placed near the 100 metres having to be steadied. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the push-out rule approaching the 1700 metres when FRANCO SAXON raced four wide to the outside of FRANCO HAMPTON, which shifted ground outwards. It was established that FRANCO HAMPTON had commenced its outward movement prior to FRANCO SAXON covering its sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
