PRETORIUS - broke briefly near the 800 metres. Hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend having to shift ground outwards.
RAVE NATION - hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend having to shift ground outwards.
MADABOY - broke passing the 400 metres losing all chance.
MY BOY BOO - broke passing the 1050 metres losing all chance. The gelding was stood down until it trials satisfactorily.
MASS DESTRUCTION - pre-raced warmed.
LITTLEBITOFLOVE - inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 500 metres. Broke approaching the 400 metres.
SAVITSKAYA - raced wide in the early and middle stages until crossing to the parked position near the 1100 metres. Broke under pressure near the 500 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners record.
JACCKA JOSH - raced wide in the early and middle stages until crossing to the parked position near the 1000 metres.

MCDAKNIFE - over-raced in the middle stages causing Driver T Mitchell some difficulty.
RAINBOW WIRI - raced wide in the early stages before improving forward to race outside the leader near the 1100 metres.
KNIGHTS DESIRE - lay inwards on the final bend having to be steadied by Driver P Ferguson. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home and was not fully tested.
SCHERGER CHIEF - lay inwards throughout. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance Trainer/Driver N Chilcott explained that she was disappointed with the run. Miss Chilcott added that it was her intention to alter the gelding's training regime. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
CRACKARED - when spoken to regarding the mare's improved performance Trainer C Wigg stated that as previously advised to Stewards the mare performed best when able to race on the pace and had benefited by being able to improve forward on the moderate tempo to race outside the leader during the middle stages.

A false start was declared when the 20 metre barrier strand became entangled in the legs of SEX ON FIRE.
SUNNY PEGASUS - trotted roughly in the early stages and got back as a result.
OUR ROSA - broke racing past the 1700 metres having to race wide thereafter upon settling. Weakened passing the 300 metres.
GREAT FANTASY - fractious behind the barrier at the restart attempt.
KRATOS - broke at the start.
LITTLE BRO - broke at the start losing its chance.
TERESKOVA - passed a pre-race veterinary examination after having raced in the Auckland Trotting Club Meeting last night. Raced three wide early before crossing to race outside the leader near the 1600 metres.
WHIPS N SPURS - broke passing the 550 metres losing its chance.
SIR GEORGE BOWEN - slow in the early stages.
SEX ON FIRE - slow in the early stages.
JOMO - fractious behind the barriers. Again fractious for the restart. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
 
Race 4ONE STOP CUTTING SHOP MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
CULLEN'S CAVIAR - weakened over the final stages. When spoken to Junior Driver Craig Smith said in his opinion the horse failed to see out the 2700 metres and would be better suited to shorter distances. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
JAKIRA - lay outwards throughout the back straight losing its position on the outside of the leader and was eased down by Junior Driver J Mackinnon soon after. When spoken to regarding this Mr MacKinnon reported the mare to have hung throughout and then locked on a rein in the back straight causing him some difficulty. Mr MacKinnon added in his opinion JAKIRA had resented a recent bit change and it was his intention to recommend further changes to Trainer S Telfer. A warning was placed on the mare's racing record. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
ARMSTRONG - broke briefly in the score up but remained in position for the start. Raced roughly in the early stages. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
THE BLUE BEAT - shifted inwards near the 100 metres and had to be corrected before then turning its head inwards just prior to the winning post. Driver J Abernethy had his Horseman's licence suspended from the conclusion of racing on 15 December up to and including 24 December 2018 (3 days) after he admitted using his whip on more occasions than permitted by the ' Use of the Whip' Regulations.
WESTBURN YIELD - held up in the early stages of the run home. Had to be heavily restrained passing the 100 metres when runners either side shifted ground costing the mare some momentum. The All Clear was delayed until Driver Z Butcher had the opportunity to view the replays so as to ascertain whether he had grounds for Protest however after viewing such he was satisfied that he would not have beaten either BIT OF A TIGER or THE BLUE BEAT regardless of the incident and payment of dividends was given accordingly.
AWESOME SPEED - Trainer R Dunn was issued with a $200 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to scratch this mare by the required time.
AZZA - checked by a breaking runner passing the 300 metres.
BIT OF A TIGER - lay inwards in the early and middle stages.
VIBE - shifted outwards under pressure in the home straight.
RED MAGIC - broke near the 350 metres checking a trailing runner. When spoken to regarding this Junior Driver B Butcher explained the horse had struck a knee. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.

BILL HALEY - out of position at the candy pole and the start. Junior Driver T Lethaby was warned to make a greater effort to have his horse in position as required in the future.
REVOLVER - improved forward three wide from the 1000 metres to race outside the leader passing the 700 metres. Weakened over the final stages to finish in 8th place beaten 10 lengths. When spoken to regarding the performance Junior Driver L Whittaker stated that he was disappointed with the run as the gelding had shown little when asked for an effort. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with trainer T Herlihy in the coming days.
STARS DELIGHT - raced keenly early and middle stages. Raced roughly under pressure on the final bend.
 
Race 6MALONEY'S BARBER SHOP HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
MINNIE BOW TIQUE - reared prior to the start requiring a gear adjustment which caused an initial delay.
EDESIA - broke at the start losing ground. Driver B Hackett reported he had dropped his whip leaving the final bend.
ANDREVA - displayed poor barrier manners behind the barrier causing a considerable delay and was sent to the outside unruly position by the Starter. Stood down pending a satisfactory standing start trial. Weakened from the 1000 metres and was distanced from the field. Trainer S McCaffrey advised he would no longer persevere with the horse from his stable.
THE PLAYER - Driver M McKendry was questioned with regard to his apparent lack of vigour throughout the run home. Mr McKendry stated that THE PLAYER had not felt safe at any stage of the event and had lost ground racing down the back straight the final time when trotting roughly. He further explained that he had been unable to place the gelding under any pressure throughout the run home as he felt it was striking itself and would have galloped. Mr McKendry's comments were noted however, the matter was adjourned to enable Stewards to make further enquiries.
DREAMKEEPER - fractious behind the barriers. Broke at the start losing its chance. Stewards advised N Chilcott a final warning would be placed on the mare's barrier record. In taking this action Stewards were mindful of the delay caused by ANDREVA. Miss Chilcott reported that it was her intention to consider spelling the horse.
LUNDQVIST - hung inwards under pressure on the final bend when giving ground.

KD HALL - broke passing the 750 metres. Broke again near the 400 metres.
MAJESTIC ONE - underwent and passed a pre-race veterinary examination after racing last night at Alexandra Park.
GRENADO - had some difficulty maintaining its position in the field in the middle stages. Trotted roughly near the 600 metres. When questioned regarding this Rider M Northcott explained that each time she had asked the gelding to extend it had trotted roughly having to be steadied. She added that despite this the horse had continued to improve over the final stages without being able to be fully tested.
SHOW OF FAITH - slow leaving the pre-race circle and was back from the unruly position at the candy pole and dispatch. Inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 700 metres.
SOL INVICTUS - inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 700 metres.
