Race Comments
Race 1P & M QUALITY PAINTERS MOBILE PACEVideo  Video
REDMARO - Weakened over the final stages. Trainer C Wigg reported that it was her intention to retire the gelding from her racing barn.
HIGHVIEW JUSTICE - over-raced middle stages when leading. Lay inwards over the final straight having to be corrected passing the 100 metres. Notwithstanding his correction driver J Kriechbaumer was reminded to make every effort to maintain a straight course.
CRACKARED - paced roughly and then broke for a short distance shortly after the start when being restrained and settled at the rear. Weakened from the 600 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance Trainer/Driver C Wigg explained the horse was unsuited to racing towards the back of the field and had performed best previously when surrounded by other runners. When questioned as to whether she had anticipated racing closer to the lead today, consistent with its two previous runs, Ms Wigg reported that horses to her inside possessed greater gate speed and was reluctant to risk racing parked over 2700 metres and so always intended to restrain in the early stages.
AZZA - raced keenly in the middle stages. Stewards looked into a potential breach of the push out rule near the 1300 metres when this runner shifted outwards but were satisfied F Phelan had commenced his shift prior to CRACKARED reaching its wheel.
VIBE - lay inwards upon entering the final straight and made contact with track markers. Raced roughly over the final stages with the mare again shifting ground inwards contacting track markers. The all clear was delayed until it could be confirmed this horse gained no advantage when shifting inwards and contacting track markers in the passing lane.

SPICEY DELIGHT - weakened passing the 600 metres and compounded over the final stages to be distanced at the finishing line. When spoken to Driver J MacKinnon could offer no explanation for the performance. Trainer S Telfer advised that the filly had again disappointed him with her efforts and it was his intention to send the horse for a spell. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
PHILLYDOTCOM - raced roughly in the early stages.
E CAT - raced keenly after making an unsuccessful attempt for the front passing the 1400 metres. When questioned Driver P Ferguson explained that he had made an initial attempt for the front but being unable to cross the leading ABOUT TURN so elected to restrain. He added that soon after this there was a noticeable decrease in the tempo of the race and for this reason he had made another attempt for the front after which point his horse had raced keenly for some distance.
