Race 11 - DRYMIX CEMENT TROT

Trainer G Smith advised Stewards on 22 November that RED HOT ROCKET has had dentistry work performed on it since last racing at Addington on Cup Day. Mr Smith added that he expects that this work together with gear changes and a softer surface should result in an improved performance at Motukarara on Sunday.

Trainer P Burrows advised Stewards on 23 November that ALGRANCO ALBYONE has been retired from racing.

Race 5 - CANTERBURY WOOL BROKERS / LEN & PAT BELL MEMORIAL TROT

The connections of LONE STAR LAD advised Stewards on 23 November that the gelding has been sent for a spell.

Race 6 - CLEM & RUSSELL BRAND MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE

Trainer J Cox advised Stewards that a scope of ROCKNROLL KING revealed no abnormalities. Mr Cox added that he will consider using nasal clips for the gelding's future racing in order to control its breathing.

Trainer D Thompson advised Stewards on 24 November that ALI LINDENNY has been treated for sacral pain and will carry on with its current racing preparation.

Trainer P Court advised Stewards on 23 November that CHANGE THE PRINT is showing no signs of soreness following its run at Ashburton on 15 November and will carry on with its current preparation.

STELLA'S DELIGHT - hampered by a breaking runner first bend. Weakened final bend.
KATCHALIGHT - hung outwards and paced roughly in the score up and was back slightly at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend. Paced roughly passing the 1200 metres and had to be steadied. Broke with 1100 metres to run.
KANSAS CITY JIM - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend and shifted inwards inside the marker line. Held up by a tiring runner final bend. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had not gained an advantage when shifting inside the marker line near the 1500 metres.
THREE IDEAS - checked by a breaking runner on the first bend. Held up early stages of the run home. When questioned regarding the improved performance, co-trainer G Hope reported the gelding had appreciated the grass track.
ZINNY MACH - late scratching on veterinary advice at 11.10am after being injured en route to the course.
DAYS OF CHANGE - paced roughly after 150 metres and had to be steadied. Broke racing into the first bend checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver R Close advised he would be recommending hopple shorteners be added to the gelding's gear.
SUPREME COMMANDER - lay outwards in the home straight.
HIDDEN DELIGHT - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
GOTTAGETTABEER - hampered by a breaking runner first bend.

BETTOR GETTA LOVER - hampered by a breaking runner first bend. When questioned regarding the performance, driver G O'Reilly could offer no explanation and advised the horse had received every opportunity.

YOUNG STRANGER - trotted roughly and shifted outwards in the home straight. Driver C Thornley was issued with a warning to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
BELMONT'S GREATEST - the required veterinary clearance was received.
MUSCLE PAT - broke at the start. Cast a shoe late in the run home.
TEHORO DAZZLE - broke briefly near the 300 metres when attempting to shift ground outwards in search of clear running. Briefly held up for clear running near the 200 metres.
LOVEY DOVEY MOMENT - trotted roughly final bend and in the home straight.
MOTU GREAT SENSATION - the connections advised the mare would be racing in foal.
BACARDI N COKE - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1100 metres. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 400 metres. Trotted roughly in the home straight.
LEO'S GIFT - trotted roughly when racing over the crossing near the 1300 metres and had to be steadied. Broke near the 400 metres.

TO RI CAITLIN - shifted outwards in the home straight when being driven out. Driver S Adlam was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home. Mr Adlam admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
TROMPEUR - weakened leaving the final bend after racing parked throughout.
PACIFIC CHAL - broke at the start. Weakened final bend. Driver R Payne reported he was unable to activate the deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
DREAMINSOVER - broke at the start.
JUST MICHAEL - hampered at the start.
SMIRKEN - broke at the start. Hung inwards throughout the running and lost contact with the field from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed slight soreness in the right hind leg. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the mare with the connections in the coming days.
SOUNDS BETTOR - over-raced middle stages.
DARRYL KERRIGAN - broke at the start. Broke near the 50 metres.
FORMIDABLE FOE - driver J Morrison reported his foot had slipped from the sulky footrest when driving his horse out in the run home.

TOUCHE - broke late in the score up losing its chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
JAFA KITTEN - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
AVA ADORE - raced wide early stages.
VERA'S FANCY PANTS - hampered late in the score up and was back slightly at the start. Authorisation of placings were withheld until Stewards had reviewed the start and were satisfied the filly's chances had not been materially prejudiced by the breaking TOUCHE.
BETTERTHANSPRAYING - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Raced wide in the early stages.

BOUND TO IMPRESS - severely checked by BIG SMOKE at the start losing all chance.
MAGIC BLAZE - checked at the start. Weakened leaving the final bend. Driver D McCormick defended a charge issued under Rule 869(2) and Clause (d) of the Use of Whip Regulations which alleged he used his whip when out of contention. During the course of the hearing Mr McCormick elected to change his plea and admit the breach. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $300.
