SPUR ME ON GENTLY - broke shortly after the start. Placed on the Unruly for future standing start events at the request of trainer T Robertson. | |

STAR DUDE - trotted roughly and shifted outwards rounding the final bend. Continued to trot roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be driven out with any vigour. Driver M Anderson was reprimanded to ensure he maintains as straight a course as possible in the run home in future. Returned to the birdcage with blood present in both nostrils with a subsequent post-race veterinary examination including an endoscopic examination confirming the gelding to be a bleeder. Stood down for the mandatory 30 day period with connections advised a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination prior to a satisfactory trial would be required prior to STAR DUDE resuming. | |
MASIES PRIDE - inclined to lay inwards throughout the run home. Junior driver R Heads in the presence of Mr C Barron was shown the films in relation to ensuring she drives her runners out to the finish line in future. | |
MAKE MY DAY - broke near the 1500 metres when leading. Broke again near the 1300 metres losing its chance. | |

THE HEART RULZ - weakened from the 650 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance driver B Barclay could offer no tangible explanation. Trainer B Gray advised he would not be persevering with the gelding as a racing proposition from his stable. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a large haematoma to the inside upper cannon area which was treated on course with an anti-inflammatory. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to racing next. | |

TOBY O'GARA - broke leaving the pre-race circle before settling. Paced roughly in the score-up and was back off the gate at the dispatch. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of the gelding. Trainer/driver C Faithful advised she would be making gear changes in an effort to rectify this tendency. | |

FLASH PARTY - weakened over the concluding stages. When spoken to regarding the performance driver N Williamson advised that given the time the race was run and it being the mares' first start back after a spell, he was not overly disappointed with the effort. Mr Williamson added the mare would derive benefit from the outing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery and it was reported the mare would be subjected to a post race check over in the coming days which Stewards will follow up with. | |

DACHY - (B Barclay) held up on the final bend. Outside sulky tyre contacted by JODY DIREEN (T Williams) exiting the final bend with the tyre deflating during the run home. Stewards spoke with drivers T Williams and B Barclay in relation to DACHY receiving a punctured tyre. After hearing from both drivers and viewing all available films, and taking into account the manner in which JODY DIREEN was racing at the time the matter was taken no further. | |

SHUZI - clamped its tail and kicked out entering the first bend making contact with driver M Anderson. Took no further part in the race. A warning was placed on the mares record. Mr Anderson was examined by St John Ambulance Paramedics and found to have suffered bruising to his left foot. Mr Anderson was advised a medical clearance would be required prior to him driving next. | |
BUNTER'S DREAM - driver P Hunter was questioned in relation to his apparent lack of vigour over the concluding stages. After hearing the explanation tendered by Mr Hunter Stewards issued him with a charge pursuant to Rule 868(3) in that he failed to drive his horse out to the end of the race when having a reasonable chance of finishing in fourth placing. This was adjourned by the JCA sine die. | |
