Race 1GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
ZOEY'S GIFT - broke after 100 metres.
ZSA ZOE - broke at the start. Broke approaching the 2800 metres losing considerable ground. Locked wheels with the galloping KING CASSIDY near the 150 metres despite the efforts of driver S Tomlinson to avoid that runner.
KING CASSIDY - broke passing the 200 metres and then locked wheels near the 150 metres with ZSA ZOE.
IZMOK - trotted roughly throughout the final straight. Co-trainer/driver C DeFilippi explained that in his opinion the 3200 metres distance proved too difficult for the gelding in its second start from a spell.
RUTHLESS KAYLA - hung inwards on the bends. A post-race veterinary examination of this mare revealed a minor laceration to its off fore leg.
BEYOND THE HORIZON - broke briefly at the start.
RED HOT POKER - over-raced middle stages.
SCARLETT BANNER - broke at the start then switched to a pace when being restrained losing its chance. The all clear was delayed when driver G Smith advised Stewards he may have been denied a fair start when KING CASSIDY shifted inwards at the start. Stewards were satisfied this shift had occurred after the tapes had been released and that SCARLETT BANNER had broken after the start when attempting to shift around that runner. Stewards therefore ruled that SCARLETT BANNER had been granted a fair start and the all clear was authorised.
SUNDONS FLYER - over-raced middle stages. When questioned regarding the mare's improved performance, trainer B Negus explained that he suspected the mare may have been tying up recently in its races and so increased her workload and altered her feeding regime. Mr Negus added that despite this he had been surprised by its winning performance today.
MEDUSA - raced wide from the 1650 metres. Weakened passing the 500 metres.

HELD TO RANSOM - checked near the 1450 metres. Held up for the final 50 metres. Driver R Close advised Stewards that the mare had hung outwards through the final straight.
MY CARBON COPY - jumped a shadow near the 1500 metre mark and then broke checking trailing runners. When spoken to regarding the performance, trainer/driver G Smith advised he had been disappointed with the gelding's efforts and it was his intention to now spell the horse.
PADUKA - over-raced middle stages.
HAVING THE FAITH - raced wide early stages. Lay inwards through the final straight and had to be heavily corrected near the 50 metres.
PORTALEGRE - raced wide early stages. Raced roughly near the 350 metres when crossing a shadow on the track.
ZINNY MACH - raced fiercely early stages. Checked and broke near the 1450 metres losing considerable ground. Continued to over-race thereafter, again breaking when becoming awkwardly positioned to the back of AVA ADORE near the 900 metres.
CHASE THE HAT TRICK - hung inwards and raced greenly in the early stages and broke near the 1700 metres as a result. Continued to lay inwards through the middle stages. Raced wide from the 700 metres. Raced roughly again near the 550 metres due to laying inwards. Weakened on the final bend. When spoken to regarding the gelding's performance, driver S Tomlinson explained that the gelding had proved very difficult to steer and given her considerable difficulty. Trainer K Chapman advised the gelding had perhaps failed to handle the occasion and became agitated prior to going onto the track. He added that it was his intention to send the horse for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to its near fore fetlock.
BETTATHANFAST - raced wide early and middle stages until crossing to the parked position near the 800 metres.
 
Race 3MITRE 10 (NZ) LTD HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
PRES THE BELLE - swung outwards as the tapes were released and began awkwardly. Under pressure passing the 400 metres. When questioned regarding the mare's performance, driver T Williams could offer no explanation and advised he was very disappointed with its effort. Trainer D Simpson advised that subsequent to the Cup Trials on 7 November, a routine examination showed the mare to have a mildly elevated temperature for which she was treated with antibiotics. Mr Simpson added that the mare had impressed him with her work since that trial and was confident of a forward showing today. He said it was now his intention to return the horse to its Dunedin base for a freshen up. Mr Simpson was reminded of his obligations to notify Stewards of any condition which might have affected or may have affected the running of a horse in a race. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities.
ARRAN CHIEF - lay inwards through the final straight and then shifted inwards near the 50 metres to avoid the breaking SUNDEES SON but in doing so made contact with the sulky of MCLOVIN.
THE DOMINATOR - broke near the 2100 metres. Again broke at the 900 metres. The connections were advised that a final warning had been placed on the gelding's racing record.
ARNOLD - trotted roughly in the early stages and then broke after 100 metres losing its chance.
SPLASH COLA - reported by trainer R Todd to be in season however he was confident this would have no adverse effect on its performance based on previous races when presented in the same condition. Trainer R Todd was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to correctly affix the left side rein which consequently came adrift while the mare was completing her preliminary. Broke at the start losing all chance.
WINTERFELL - slow to begin.
BELLES SON - when questioned regarding the gelding's improved performance, trainer R Todd advised today's race was a considerable drop back in class, the gelding had performed well at the Cup Trials and he was confident of a forward showing.
SUNDEES SON - broke when leading near the 175 metres. When questioned regarding this driver J Dunn was unable to offer any explanation.
QUEVERT - broke at the start.
BENCHMARK - late scratching at 9.20am on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
 
Race 4LAURA FERGUSSON TRUST (JUNIOR) FREE-FOR-ALL MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
ELLE MAC - held up over the concluding stages.
PAT'S DELIGHT - taken wider near the 1300 metres. Films showed that HENRY HUBERT had commenced its shift wider prior to PAT'S DELIGHT reaching its sulky wheel however had raced roughly in the process which had delayed him fully shifting outwards.
 
Race 5RNP HOMES LTD MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
DELIGHTFUL TANNER - paced roughly over the early stages and had to be steadied losing ground. Driver K Cox was warned for the manner in which she shifted ground near the 1100 metres when briefly causing SHEZACULLENGIRL (R May) to race wider on the track. Ms Cox was further spoken to regarding the manner she drove approaching the 800 metres again causing an inconvenience to SHEZACULLENGIRL. In taking this action Stewards were mindful of the comments made by driver R May regarding the tractability of his mare throughout.
NIMAH FRANCO - locked wheels with DE LANCOME near the 350 metres losing a small amount of ground when having to be steadied.
FEEL THE MONEY - broke in the middle stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Checked shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Blundered and paced roughly near the 1400 metres. Driver M Anderson reported that the mare had felt uncomfortable in its action through the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare showed no obvious abnormalities.
DE LANCOME - locked wheels with NIMAH FRANCO near the 350 metres.
SHEZACULLENGIRL - over-raced as the start was effected, shifted inwards and broke checking FEEL THE MONEY. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Hung inwards and raced roughly near the 1100 metres after being shifted wider on the track by DELIGHTFUL TANNER. Again had to be steadied when racing towards the 800 metres when in restricted room. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SANS LE SOU - Trainer D Alfeld advised the mare had been served.
FLYIN MILLY MAC - held up on the final bend.
 
Race 6GRANITE BENCHTOP COMPANY NZ TROTTING FFA (MOBILE TROT)Video  Video 
LEMOND - lay inwards on the final bend and was not able to be pressured at this time losing some ground in consequence.
WILMA'S MATE - broke after 150 metres.
WOODSTONE - raced wide early stages until being taken forward to race outside the leader near the 1250 metres.
HEY YO - raced roughly for several strides passing the 900 metres when awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of EVERYBODY KNOWS. An inquiry was opened and adjourned into this incident until the NZ Metropolitan TC's meeting on Friday.
ALDERBECK - made contact with the final two pylons when in restricted room with the mare breaking soon after the line.
EVERYBODY KNOWS - inconvenienced by a breaking runner after 150 metres.
MUSCLES GALORE - broke at the 350 metres.
 
Race 7McMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS SIRES' STAKES SERIES FINAL MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
STARS TONIGHT - raced roughly shortly after the start when being driven forward and had to be steadied for several strides. Paced roughly for several strides racing into the first bend after making contact with the inside sulky wheel of JESSE DUKE which was shifting inwards into the trail. Again raced roughly approaching the 600 metres having to be steadied after driver R Houghton had activated the hopple shorteners.
A BETTOR ACT - raced wide early stages. Locked wheels with MAJOR TROJAN approaching the 650 metres. When spoken to regarding the colt's performance, driver R May explained the colt had travelled well throughout however once he shifted it into the open near the 700 metres his horse had dropped the bit and proved disappointing thereafter. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Co-trainer M Purdon undertook to notify Stewards of anything which may come to light to explain the performance.
JESSE DUKE - shifted down the track in the early stages towards the position behind the leading HEISENBERG but in doing so restricted the racing room of STARS TONIGHT (R Houghton) causing it to race roughly for several strides and having to be steadied. Driver M Purdon admitted driving carelessly in this incident and after submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended his Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 16 November up to and including 30 November 2018 (3 days).
WAR DAN DELIGHT - checked near the 650 metres.
MEMPHIS TENNESSEE - checked near the 650 metres.
ULTIMATE SNIPER - raced wide early stages until being taken forward to race outside the leader near the 1200 metres.
THE MOONSHADOW - raced wide early stages. Over-raced when reaching the parked position near the 1400 metres.
BETTOR GETTA LOVER - checked near the 650 metres.
MAJOR TROJAN - improved wide from the 900 metres. Locked wheels with A BETTOR ACT approaching the 650 metres having to be restrained over some distance, losing ground and momentum. Raced greenly on the final bend when under pressure. When spoken to regarding the colt's performance, driver G Hall Jnr reported his horse to have been unsuited to having to work hard from its poor draw over a short distance and was not overly disappointed with its run.

SWAMP MAJOR - broke racing into the first bend near the 1700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination showed the gelding to be significantly lame in its left hind leg with treatment administered. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
BETTOR JOY - raced wide early stages.
ANTHEM - raced wide from the 1300 metres.
CULLENBURN - raced wide from the 1300 metres.

MARTIN JOHN - raced roughly early stages. Held up round the final bend.
DONEGAL ART CHOKIN - hung inwards throughout the run home.
PARAVANI - held up round the final bend.
BOUNTY LADY - held up early stages of the run home.
DOCTOR TIM - raced wide early stages.
QUEEN OF GLORY - held up round the final bend.
BACK IN BLACK - broke as the start was effected losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
MACHSGAIN - raced wide from the 1400 metres.
BETTOR MY DREAMZ - raced wide early stages
JOHNNY WHITE - raced wide early stages.
HE'S A LADIES MAN - back from the second line at the start despite the efforts of driver M Williamson. Mr Williamson advised the gelding had paced roughly during the running due to striking a knee. He added that he would be recommending spreaders be applied to the horse for its next start.

THEFIXER - driver N Rasmussen admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that she used her whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After submissions on penalty the JCA suspended Ms Rasmussen's Horsewoman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 16 November up to and including 30 November 2018 (3 days) and in addition imposed a fine of $2,500.
CRUZ BROMAC - broke for several strides entering the final straight when checked by STAR GALLERIA which had shifted inwards.
EAMON MAGUIRE - a false start was declared when EAMON MAGUIRE was fractious behind the barrier and lunged at the tape which became entangled. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
STAR GALLERIA - lay inwards once entering the final straight inconveniencing CRUZ BROMAC which broke for several strides.
A G'S WHITE SOCKS - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
BILLY BADGER - broke at the start. A post-race veterinary examination was carried out after there was some blood in its nose with this revealing an abrasion caused by the horse striking a helmet.
CAPTAIN DOLMIO - tired from the 400 metres.
FORGOTTEN HIGHWAY - raced wide early stages before settling at the rear of the field. Raced wide from the 850 metres. Driver S Ottley was reprimanded for the manner she shifted ground near the 600 metres which caused ALTA ORLANDO to race roughly for several strides.
TIGER TARA - driver T McCarthy admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $1000.
ALTA ORLANDO - paced roughly when improving three wide near the 600 metres when placed in restricted room by FORGOTTEN HIGHWAY which was shifting inwards.

CHIEF OF STAFF - had to shift ground inwards near the 100 metres to obtain clear running.
YOUNG STRANGER - broke at the start.
HONEYS SON - checked near the 1200 metres losing its chance. A post-race veterinary examination showed a superficial abrasion to its right hock.
THEODOSIA - raced wide early stages.
RED HOT ROCKET - when questioned regarding the gelding's performance, trainer/driver G Smith advised the horse had hung throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
RACHMANINOV - broke soon after the start. Checked near the 1200 metres.
REBEL KIBBYBONES - checked near the 1200 metres. When questioned in regards to the performance trainer/driver J Hay stated that after getting back in the running the gelding broke briefly when the removable deafeners were activated and from then on was unable to get into the race.
IN SEQUENCE - broke and hung outwards near the 1200 metres locking wheels with HONEYS SON checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the mare's racing record.
SUGAR CANE - fractious behind the barriers lunging at the tapes and then refused to move off with the field despite the attention of a Starter's Assistant. The all clear was delayed until this could be reviewed by Stewards. After speaking with driver M McKendry, Stewards were satisfied that the mare's poor manners were the reason for it missing the start and so cleared the dividends. A warning was placed on its barrier record. Checked near the 1200 metres.
 
Race 12BLUE STAR TAXIS MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
SANTANNA MACH - had to be steadied near the 650 metres.
BETTOR BE GOLD - had to be steadied near the 650 metres.
TYRON BETTOR'S ELLA - trainer R Dunn was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after presenting the mare without the notified blinds. Raced wide in the early stages having to be restrained to last near the 1400 metres.
NIRVANA BEACH - weakened passing the 400 metres. When questioned regarding the performance, driver R May explained that the colt had hung and over raced throughout with the effort telling over the concluding stages. Trainer B Hill advised Stewards that the colt would now be sent for a spell.
NANDOLO - raced greenly when being shifted towards the front near the 650 metres which caused an easing of the pace in the two wide line meaning those horses had to be steadied.
RUBY ROSE - had to be steadied near the 650 metres. Raced greenly when shifted wider on the final bend and lay outwards racing over further ground than anticipated.
COPPERHEAD ROSE - had to be steadied near the 650 metres.
BRINGITONHOME - had to be steadied near the 650 metres. Lay inwards in the early stages of the run home.
ROLLOVA - raced roughly on several occasions approaching the 900 metres. Raced roughly on the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance, driver B Butt reported the gelding was not suited to the fast sectionals of the race.
SAILS - a false start was declared when SAILS shifted inwards abruptly checking ROLLOVA. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Again broke in the re-start losing its chance.
