MAKE MY DAY - hung out at various stages throughout the race. Driver N Williamson advised Stewards that he would be recommending gear changes to the mare's connections. | |
WHATWILLBEEWILLBEE - reared prior to the start causing a delay with the field being reassembled with the gelding being sent to the outside. A warning was placed on the barrier record of this gelding. Again reared as the tape was released. Hung inwards around the bend at 1400 metres. Broke near the 750 metres losing its chance. Trainer/drier B Norman advised it was his intention to return the horse to the trials before resuming. | |

MCLAREN - late scratching after the horse refused to take up a position near the other runners in the pre-race circle. Stood down to trial (mobile) on one occasion. Co-trainer G Knight advised the Stewards that he will not be persevering with the gelding from his stable. | |
MAC FALCON - lay outwards at the start losing ground. | |
OUT OF THE SHADOWS - weakened from the 400 metres with a post race Veterinary examination revealing no obvious abnormalities. When spoken to by Stewards Driver C Ferguson offered no explanation for the gelding's performance. | |
STAR RULER - paced roughly over the final stages of the run home. A post race Veterinary examination revealed this gelding had bitten it's tongue during the run with blood being apparent in it's mouth. | |

CLOVER LADY - over raced through the middle stages. Driver J Cox was spoken to and shown the films of the field heading into the first bend and was told to exercise greater care in future. When spoken to regarding the improved performance of the mare Trainer A Hoffman explained that alterations to the horse's gear had assisted. | |
DUSKY EYRE - paced in the early stages having to be restrained and losing ground. Trotted roughly at various stages throughout the event. | |
GORILLA PLAYBOY - broke in the early stages. Improved wide without cover from the 1700 metres. | |
