THE BLUE BEAT - raced greenly in the score-up and was back a length at dispatch. Paced roughly near the 1600 metres before improving to lead. Raced greenly at various stages when leading. Broke passing the 40 metres and shifted out locking wheels with BUGALUGS. Authorisation of second placing was withheld until it was confirmed that the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when galloping over the final stages. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners. | |
BUGALUGS - checked and locked wheels on reaching the finishing line which resulted in Driver P Ferguson being tipped from the sulky. Mr Ferguson was examined by St. John's Ambulance staff and cleared to fulfill his remaining engagements. | |

RUSSIAN ALSU - the start was delayed after the mare had to return to the stabling area to replace the sulky after an axle nut had come adrift during the preliminary. Trainer M Collins advised Stewards that he had had an issue repairing the sulky wheel earlier in the day and that the thread must have been stripped. The Stewards issued him with a caution in that he was expected to present his gear in good order. | |

Mr Ferguson advised that the gelding had lay in at various stages placing him at a disadvantage and that he would be recommending corrective gear changes to connections. | |
