BETSTARS BLUE JEAN - hung inwards rounding the bends.
NO MORE CHANGE - trainer C Ferguson was issued with a warning pursuant to the Programming Conditions Regulations #15(a)(i) for being late to present his runner on course.
BETTERTHANBRIE - gave ground on the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance junior driver E Barron advised the mare had travelled well however failed to finish the race off and was disappointing.
GRACE BURNS - Co-trainer K Barclay was issued a Minor Infringement Notice pursuant to Rule 849(2) and fined $100 when presenting BETTERTHANBRIE & GRACE BURNS with the incorrect numbers. Weakened from the 600 metres. Driver K Butt reported the mare had raced lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

THEODORA HOPE - shied at the water cart in the preliminary and shifted inwards abruptly checking BETTER GALLEON
EXCELLENT - broke in the score up and failed to settle losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the mare. Co-trainer/driver K Barclay advised she would be adding an over-check to the mare for future starts.
HANS IDEAL - over-raced through the early stages. Held up leaving the final bend.
ROYAL PORTRAIT - raced wide through the early stages. Paced roughly near the 250 metres.
APRIL ROSE - raced wide through the early stages. Held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. Lay inwards over the concluding stages and locked wheels with BETTER GALLEON just short of the winning post.
BETTER GALLEON - checked by THEODORA HOPE in the preliminary dislodging driver J Morrison before falling to the track. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Mr Morrison was examined by St John paramedics and cleared to drive. Shifted out marginally and locked wheels with APRIL ROSE just short of the winning post.
TUAPEKA LIGHT - briefly hampered in the score-up and was back slightly at the start.

SWIFT ROBYN - held up on the final bend.
HONOR AND GLORY - hung inwards and paced roughly for a distance passing the 1900 metres. Driver B Barclay reported he did not activate the removable deafeners applied to the gelding due to having the field covered.
BATTLE AXE - gave ground rounding the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver B Williamson advised the gelding had failed to respond to his urgings and had proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
G T REACTOR - held up on the final bend.
TANGO DANCER - raced wide through the early stages. Hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the final bend and continued to hang inwards throughout the run home.
WEE RING THE CHANGES - paced roughly in the score-up and was out of position at the start. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts. Hung outwards and paced roughly through the middle stages. Held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
SHUZI - driver N Williamson reported the mare had paced roughly in the home straight and due to this he was unable to fully drive the horse out.

QUEEN OF THE NITE - broke shortly after the start losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the mare.
MATINEE IDOL - over-raced in the score-up and through the early stages.

SPUR ME ON GENTLY - broke in the score-up losing its chance.
THE POWER BROKER - trotted roughly in the home straight.
CUDDLY TROUBLE - weakened on the final bend.
SPOTLIGHT THE VALLEY - broke late in the score-up losing its chance. Stewards sought a Ruling from the JCA to determine whether the horse had been denied a fair start after driver K Butt reported that in her opinion the mare had broken after making contact with the mobile barrier due to the gate slowing down just prior to the start. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from Miss Butt, Starter B Ward and the Stewards, the JCA ruled SPOTLIGHT THE VALLEY had received a fair start and declared the horse a runner.
PICKETTS RIDGE - raced greenly in the score up and was back slightly at the start. Raced wide in the early stages. Hung outwards in the run home and shifted up the track. Driver N Williamson was issued with a warning pursuant to Rule 869(4) to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the home straight. Mr Williamson advised he would be recommending gear changes prior to PICKETTS RIDGE having its next start.
THUNDER BUDDY - briefly hampered in the score-up by a breaking runner. Stewards lodged a Protest pursuant to Rule 870(3) against fourth placing being awarded to this runner alleging the gelding had breached the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking in excess of 50 metres in the home straight. The connections did not contest the Protest and THUNDER BUDDY was subsequently disqualified from the event.
RYDGEMONT MILLY - hampered in the score-up by a breaking runner and was back a length at the start. Authorisation of all placings were withheld until the Stewards had spoken to driver D Shirley and viewed replays of the start and determined that RYDGEMONT MILLY's chances had not been materially prejudiced when hampered in the score-up.
KING CASSIDY - briefly hampered in the score-up by a breaking runner. Trotted roughly through the early stages. Again trotted roughly on several occasions in the home straight and shifted up the track when being steadied.

FRANCO HUNTINGTON - held up on the final bend.
HARRYDAHORSE - broke in the score-up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the gelding. Broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
IT AIN'T THE MONEY - weakened on the final bend.
THE MAROON MARAUDER - broke briefly in the early stages of the score-up however recovered to take up its allocated position on the Unruly. Broke near the 1450 metres losing all chance.

FRANCO JUNE - weakened leaving the final bend.
CRUISIN REUBEN - held up on the final bend.
BLACK OPS - weakened from the 500 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance junior driver E Barron advised the gelding had failed to respond when placed under pressure and had been disappointing.
IVANA LEGACY - held up on the final bend.
MUCHO MACHO MAN - held up on the final bend.
IDEAL FOR SURE - lost contact with the field from the 1600 metres and was eased out of the race. When spoken to regarding the performance junior driver K Butt advised the mare had hung inwards badly throughout however she could offer no other explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be showing signs of dehydration. Stood down to trial satisfactorily on one occasion prior to resuming.
DANGEROUS - when spoken to regarding the performance driver N Williamson advised the entire had been under pressure throughout the running and had been disappointing. Mr Williamson added that the horse was having its first start back from a spell and expected DANGEROUS would derive significant benefit from the race.
 
Race 8MCMILLANS 'TONNE OF FEED' PROMOTION MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
DISSOLUTION - raced wide through the early stages. Weakened on the final bend.
TRIPLE VC - locked wheels with BOLD RULER briefly near the 1500 metres. Raced keenly through the middle stages. Locked wheels with T C BUSINESS near the 250 metres and had to be steadied, losing ground. Stewards questioned driver N Williamson regarding the tactics he adopted passing the 500 metres when electing not to improve his position wider on the track. After hearing from Mr Williamson, Stewards adjourned the matter to give it further consideration.
MY GEORGIE BOY - raced three-wide rounding the first bend. Improved four-wide through the back straight on the first occasion.
THE RED ROBBER - hung outwards and paced roughly near the 1800 metres.
BOLD RULER - locked wheels with TRIPLE VC for a short distance near the 1500 metres when improving wide on the track.
T C BUSINESS - hung inwards near the 250 metres and locked wheels with TRIPLE VC, losing ground.
THE HEART RULZ - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver A Beck.
