CYCLONE S ADAMS - lay out rounding the final turn and contacted the sulky of an outside runner before galloping and losing its chance.
MISS BLISSFUL - sulky contacted rounding the final turn. Driver M Teaz advised that she had been unable to drive the mare out fully due to it trotting unevenly throughout the run home.
BROOKS BELLE - broke near the 1650 metres losing its chance.
SPEEDY LAVROS - slow early.
SHOW OF FAITH - over-raced middle stages before being improved forward three wide from the 500 metres.

ATOM HANOVER - held up early in the run home but then failed to run on when clear.
REDMARO - had to be steadied off the back of ATOM HANOVER passing the 1000 metres.

A false start was declared at the first attempt when the front barrier failed to clear the front line.
AIN'T NO PRINCESS - broke at the start and trailed the field throughout.
PHOEBE IMPERIAL - broke entering the first turn when leading and galloped a considerable distance before settling in midfield.

LINCOLN'S GIRL - paced roughly in the score up and then broke shortly after the start before settling at the rear. Paced roughly rounding the final turn. A warning was placed this filly's mobile barrier manners record.
PRIME SILVER - over-raced middle stages when trailing the leader.

COOL AND CALCULATING - held up for several strides early in the run home.
ABOUT TURN - lay in throughout the score up and was back a length at despatch.
BIG ON PERSONALITY - paced roughly for several strides in the score up but was in positon prior to despatch.

RORY MCILROY - held up final turn.
EASTANBULL - led up and received pressure at various stages from M T POCKETS before giving ground when headed on the final turn to finish at the rear, beaten 23.7 lengths. When questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver K Marshall stated that after receiving early pressure the gelding had tended to over-race and that he had been unable to get any respite and felt that this had taken its toll over tonight's longer distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
IDEAL HOLIDAY - held up momentarily near the 150 metres.
M T POCKETS - Driver A Poutama was questioned in relation to the manner in which he drove when applying pressure to the leader EASTANBULL at various stages of the event. Mr Poutama stated that he had been instructed by connections to go forward and look to lead, however when Driver K Marshall (EASTANBULL) had indicated that the lead was not there entering the front straight the first time that he had attempted to ease his gelding before again going forward briefly approaching the 1600 metres where EASTANBULL had again kicked up to hold the lead. Mr Poutama further stated that he had attempted to sit back off EASTANBULL to allow the tempo to ease during the middle stages but that his gelding had commenced to over-race placing him at some disadvantage. Mr Poutama's explanation was noted.
BIT OF A TIGER - lay out rounding the first turn and contacted the sulky of GOT A BEAUTY resulting in BIT OF A TIGER galloping and settling towards the rear.

Race 7GARRARDS NEW ZEALAND HANDICAP PACEVideo  Video 
RAPTORS FLIGHT - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's standing start barrier manners.
SOLID GOLD - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's standing start barrier manners.
CHICAGO BULL - broke at the start adding to its 20 metre handicap.

MR GOOD AND EVIL - removed from the unruly for future stands.
REALMEIN - broke passing the 1800 metres when being restrained off the back of LEANNE'S BOY after there was an easing of the pace on the marker line.
PYRAMID MAGIC - trotted roughly under pressure in the run home.
TEMPORALE - improved forward three wide to lead near the 1300 metres but was run down into third place beaten 4.1 lengths. Driver A Herlihy stated that although the gelding had been required to work hard during the middle stages to find the lead after starting from the 50 metre handicap, that he was slightly disappointed as he felt TEMPORALE should have finished the race off in a stronger manner. A post-race veterinary examination detected mild upper respiratory tract inflammation. Mr Herlihy advised that he would have blood taken from the gelding and would advise should anything surface.
LEMOND - broke passing the 300 metres losing its chance. Driver M McKendry advised that the gelding had disappointed when failing to trot as fluently as normal.

GIBSON GIRL - tended to shift out rounding the final turn when leading.
CHEVRON SUPREME - broke late in the score up losing in excess of 100 metres before settling. A warning was placed on the filly's mobile barrier manners. Caught the field near the 800 metres but then commenced to over-race badly resulting in Driver M McKendry allowing the filly to improve forward three wide. Shifted out under pressure near the 150 metres and locked wheels for several strides.
COURTNEY JANE - over-raced middle stages.
BEST WESTERN - locked wheels for several strides near the 150 metres.

ACCELERE - showed early gate speed before breaking shortly after the start checking another runner and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners.
MIRACLE MOOSE - checked and broke shortly after the start and trailed the field throughout.
