LIVING LEGEND - no claims lodged. Hung inwards and paced roughly near the 200 metres.
XMAS BAY - checked near the 600 metres. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
SKY CITY KING - broke racing into the first bend.
ROMANITE - no claims lodged. Hung inwards final bend and struck pylons.
FRANCO SHERBORNE - checked near the 600 metres.
WESTAR SAM - driver W Low defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) which alleged he drove carelessly near the 600 metres by allowing his horse to contact the sulky wheel of LIVING LEGEND (M Stratford) resulting in his runner breaking with trailing runners also being checked. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions from Stewards, W Low and M Stratford, the JCA found the charge proved and suspended Mr Low's Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 21 December 2018 (2 1/2 months).

ROGIE FALLS - when spoken to regarding the performance, driver S McNally could offer no explanation and advised he was disappointed with the effort.
DOLLY JONES - hung inwards throughout the run home.
PASTRANA - trotted roughly in the early stages and again in the home straight.
COSMIC SUN - trotted roughly final bend and in the home straight.
ZEDDIE MARIT - broke racing into the first bend. Broke again near the 1900 metres and 200 metres.
BOYZ INVASION - weakened final bend.
MAJICION - reared as the start was effected. Broke near the 1800 metres losing all chance.

EASTWOOD ISABELLA - when questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer S Smolenski reported that the mare had paced roughly and raced greenly at its first start and for this reason he had made adjustments to the hopple and overcheck length prior to today's race. Mr Smolenski added that the mare had appreciated the standing start and had been able to capitalise on an economical run throughout.
ADJUDICATOR - reared prior to the start. Placed in restricted room shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Weakened final bend.
ONEDIN SMILER - hung inwards in the early stages placing inside runner in restricted room. Lay inwards throughout the run home.
BICTON - broke at the start. Hampered near the 400 metres. Held up final bend and in the home straight.
CHAIN REACTION - raced wide early stages. Paced roughly near the 400 metres after striking the sulky wheel of the weakening RAGNARR when racing ungenerously despite the efforts of driver T McMillan. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Mr McMillan advised he would be making gear changes to the horse prior to resuming.
SMIRKEN - hung inwards racing into the first bend. Hung inwards throughout the home straight.
GOTTA PARTY DOLL - broke at the start.
IDEOLOGIST - broke at the start. Raced wide without cover from the 1200 metres.
RAGNARR - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance, driver B Butt advised the gelding had worked hard in the middle stages however he had been disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery rate. Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days.
LITTLE MISS LONELY - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Hampered near the 400 metres.
 
Race 4EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES TROTVideo  Video 
ALI LINDENNY - raced keenly middle stages. Hung inwards and struck pylons near the 1100 metres.
YOUNG STRANGER - broke on the first bend. Trotted roughly in the home straight and was unable to be driven out. Broke late in the run home. Trainer/driver C Thornley reported that the crupper had broken on the gelding while in a break rounding the first bend. This gear was inspected and found to be in good condition.
EYRE'S A RAG DOLL - broke at the start.
FUTURE QUEEN - broke shortly after the start.
BELMONT'S GREATEST - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced wide early stages.
HOLLY TROUBLE - raced wide without cover from the 1500 metres. Weakened passing the 700 metres.
MOTU GREAT SENSATION - hung inwards and struck pylons near the 1100 metres. Held up for clear racing room throughout the run home.
MUSCLE PAT - hung inwards and struck pylons near the 1100 metres.
SUCH FUN - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.

MINNELLI SMILE - broke in the score up causing interference to runners on the second line with a false start being declared. Driver S Ottley elected to remain in her barrier position for the re-start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
BALDOON - briefly locked wheels with PADDY ME near the 250 metres.
SANTANNA LAD - hung outwards in the early stages. Continued to hang outwards through the straight near the 1400 metres and lost ground in consequence. Held up for clear racing room throughout the run home.
JINGLE JINGLE - held up early stages of the run home.
PADDY ME - raced wide until near the 1200 metres. Held up early stages of the run home. Briefly locked wheels with BALDOON near the 250 metres.
MORVEN LASS - raced wide first bend.
SHOT IN THE DARK - Driver A Faulks admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
AVEROSS SPITFIRE - raced wide until the 900 metres.
LINCOLN TOY - raced four wide rounding the first bend. Continued to race wide until near the 700 metres.
FRANCO HATTON - broke shortly after the finish of the race when placed in restricted room.
DARK RAGE - raced wide throughout. Cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.

PLAYBOY PRINCE - held up early stages of the run home.
LIMOSO - hampered by a breaking runner leaving the final bend. Driver K Butt advised the deafeners were not activated in consequence.
BETTOR TRENZ - paced roughly racing into the first bend and had to be steadied. Raced ungenerously near the 400 metres and broke losing its chance.
CHIEF KAPAI - lay outwards over the concluding stages.
SPICY GIRL BECQUI - over-raced in the early stages when wide on the track before being restrained to the rear of the field. Locked wheels with B MAC C just short of the finish line.
B MAC C - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the home straight. Locked wheels with SPICY GIRL BECQUI just short of the finish line.
 
Race 7NEXT MEETING - 3 NOVEMBER MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
MELTON REACTOR - over-raced from the 1000 metres when being restrained.
THE CRUISE MISSILE - raced wide early stages.
MY PATRONUS - over-raced for a distance passing the 1700 metres before improving three wide. Weakened from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Driver S McNally reported that the mare had choked down.
DONEGAL ART CHOKIN - raced wide early stages.
MONGOLIAN MACHETE - raced wide early stages. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than slight dehydration. Stewards questioned driver P Court regarding the tactics he adopted between the 1100 metres and 800 metres when unsuccessfully challenging MELTON REACTOR for the lead. Mr Court explained that the horse had hung and raced greenly when positioned in the field at its last start and for this reason he felt his best option was to improve to the lead where the colt had raced well in its first two starts. Mr Court added that he was aware that MELTON REACTOR was being restrained by its driver to obtain cover however his horse had not responded to his urgings. After considering his explanation, Stewards were satisfied that Mr Court's actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.
XMAS BAY - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after starting in Race 1 and was cleared to start. Stewards approved a late gear change of the addition of removable deafeners. Over-raced early stages. Held up early stages of the run home.
HOMEFORLIFE - unable to maintain contact with the field from the 900 metres and was retired from the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare. Trainer J Thomas advised the mare will no longer be persevered with as a racing proposition from his stable.
VALZONA - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Zampese. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
KATAMACH - held up early stages of the run home.

DIANA HARBOUR - hung inwards and trotted roughly final bend. Held up late in the run home.
MICKEY JAY - paced at the start and had to be broken up by driver B Williamson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide passing the 400 metres.
RYDGEMONT SON - broke shortly after the start. Trotted roughly racing into the first bend.
AGATHA TYRON - broke after 150 metres losing all chance.
TRICK STAR - hung inwards and trotted roughly final bend.
TIJUANA TAXI - broke after 150 metres. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.

GOD ONLY KNOWS - hung inwards when briefly placed in restricted room racing into the first bend.
MYBOYLOLLIEPOP - broke at the start. The near side number hung loose from the 1400 metres before falling to the track near the 250 metres.
NIMAH FRANCO - raced keenly middle stages. Held up passing the 400 metres.
TOP BRASS - weakened final bend.
BOHANNAN - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ITSOVERWHENITSOVER - gave ground from the 1000 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. A veterinary clearance including an ECG will be required prior to resuming.

AWAYTOCULLECT - held up throughout the run home. Driver O Thornley advised the deafeners were not activated in consequence.
PEGASUS KOMMANDER - the near side number hung loose rounding the first bend. Held up for clear racing room throughout the run home.
VENETO - held up early stages of the run home.
NIRVANA BEACH - driver R May advised the deafeners were not activated due to having the field covered.
DOITSON - lay inwards throughout the home straight.
SWEET MARY - over-raced in the early and middle stages. Stewards questioned driver M Williamson regarding his decision not to improve prior to the final bend. Mr Williamson explained that he had been instructed to drive the mare with a sit as she had performed well when driven in a similar manner at the trials leading up to today's race. Mr Williamson added that he was of the opinion that had he moved earlier he would have been flushed out by runners in advance of him. Trainer B Mowbray confirmed the instructions given and advised that circumstances permitting the horse would be driven with a sit in its upcoming starts.
SIR FORTUNE - over-raced middle stages. Held up late in the run home.
BILLIE JEAN - over-raced middle stages.
