The connections of ROMY FRANCO advised Stewards on 3 October that the mare appears to have recovered well after its disappointing performance at Winton and will carry on with its current preparation in the Southern area.

Race 1NET TEN EOM AT MACCA LODGE PACEVideo  Video 
GOMEO DENARIO - held up by a tiring runner entering the home straight. Locked wheels with SHERRY BABY near the 200 metres when accessing the passing lane losing its chance.
ROCKIN ROD - held up by a tiring runner on the final bend and early in the run home. Shifted ground inwards near the 200 metres when insufficient room existed, causing SHERRY BABY (B Williamson) to be steadied and locked wheels with GOMEO DENARIO (B Barclay). After hearing from all drivers Stewards issued Mr M Williamson with a charge pursuant to Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly at this stage of the race. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from Mr Williamson and the Stewards, the JCA dismissed the charge.
SHERRY BABY - weakened final bend. Had to be steadied when placed in restricted room by outside runner near the 200 metres locking wheels with GOMEO DENARIO as a consequence.
FLOGGING MOLLY - raced wide into the first bend.
ROMY FRANCO - broke briefly at the start. Denied clear racing room through the middle stages of the home straight.
GOTTA B AWINNER - hung inwards on the first bend and raced lethargically, enabling FLOGGING MOLLY to obtain an advantageous position on the running line.
SQUARE DEALER - tangled away.
ITZ QUEEN OF ARTS - hung inwards and broke free of interference near the 1450 metres and was subsequently retired from the event. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the mare. Trainer A Hoffman advised she would have her personal veterinarian examine the mare and return it to the trials prior to racing next.
SEFTON HOOLIGAN - raced wide from the 600 metres.
MATINEE IDOL - improved wide from the 700 metres.
DREAMINSOVER - inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 1450 metres. Held up for clear racing room entering the home straight.

ME AND MY EXCUSES - broke late in the score-up checking second line runners and necessitating a false start be declared. Driver B Barclay elected to go to the Unruly position for the restart where the mare will be drawn for its future mobile engagements. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of the mare.
POLDARK - hung inwards and paced roughly near the 50 metres.
MEMPHIS TENNESSEE - driver T Chmiel advised he did not activate the removable hood applied to the gelding due to having the field covered.
JEAN LUC - shifted inwards over the concluding stages.
NUCLEAR WAY - weakened from the 350 metres.
JAMIES BAD BOY - paced roughly near the 600 metres and broke near the 450 metres. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the gelding.
THISLADYROCKS - raced wide through the early stages.
COOL SCOOTER - raced four-wide into the first bend and three-wide through the early stages.

SWEET CHILLI - held up for clear racing room rounding the final bend and through the latter stages of the run home.
IDEAL ASSET - held up for clear racing room throughout the final straight.
THISEXCUSEBETTERBEIT - raced wide in the early stages. Held up rounding the final bend.
TANGO DANCER - raced wide into the first bend. Raced three-wide without cover from the 1200 metres.
LINC N ELLE - weakened from the 450 metres.
BLARNEY BABE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the mare.
BETTER GALLEON - held up for clear racing room rounding the final bend and for the majority of the home straight with junior driver S Tomlinson advising she did not activate the removable deafeners applied to the mare due to this.
CANSTAR - refused to exit the pre-race circle, rearing and becoming awkwardly placed in its sulky. Due to this and in the interests of safety, starter Mr B Ward aborted the initial score-up. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the filly. Broke in the score-up of the restart however recovered to take up its allotted position at the dispatch. Paced roughly and had to be steadied passing the 1800 metres.
BUNTER'S DREAM - raced wide through the early to middle stages prior to being restrained to the rear of the field near the 1600 metres.

ELLNBAC - over-raced near the 1100 metres.
TRIPLE VC - driver N Williamson reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners applied to the gelding.
HONOUR THE BET - hung inwards rounding the final bend.

ANOTHERSUPERSTAR - broke briefly entering the first bend. Broke again passing the 1000 metres. A final warning was placed on the racing manners of the mare.
CUDDLY TROUBLE - weakened from the 600 metres.
SAGE TROUBLE - slow through the early stages.
GREY POWER - broke passing the 900 metres and on further occasions during the running, losing all chance. Trainer/driver N Williamson reported the gelding would now be retired.

QUEEN OF THE NITE - broke near the 350 metres when being improved outwards, hampering ESSENCE OF EASTON.
MUCHO MACHO MAN - paced roughly throughout. Unsuccessfully challenged SHELBY BROMAC (T Dewe) for the lead from the 1600 metres until the 1000 metres. Weakened from the 550 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards spoke with Junior Driver M Hurrell (assisted by senior driver N Williamson) and Trainer W Breen regarding the tactics adopted through the middle stages of the race. After hearing from all parties Stewards issued Mr Hurrell with a charge pursuant to Rule 869(3)(g) in that he drove in a manner capable of diminishing the chances of his runner with the JCA adjourning the matter sine die.
ESSENCE OF EASTON - severely hampered by breaking runner near the 300 metres.
LITTLE RAIN - broke at the start losing all chance.

SOUTH PARK - broke when leading passing the 1100 metres, losing all chance.
PEGASUS HANOVER - broke entering the first bend.
KIWI HEIR - broke at the start.
NOBLE GAMBLE - held up for clear racing room rounding the final bend.
PAT THE MONKEY - broke passing the 2000 metres.
BRIAN - weakened from the 600 metres.
BOBINUP - broke passing the 1500 metres. Broke briefly again at the 700 metres, trotted roughly thereafter and was unable to be driven with any vigour before breaking again near the 200 metres.
DAVEY MAC - broke briefly at the start. Raced extremely wide rounding the first bend, then wide for the remainder of the first lap. Trainer/driver P Williamson reported the gelding had over-raced throughout.

SADHANA - weakened from the 700 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Barclay advised he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
GROOMSMAN - held up a by tiring runner from the 700 metres.
FRANCO JUNE - paced roughly near the 500 metres.
JACKS N JAZZ - raced wide into the first bend.
FERRITTS SISTER - raced wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.
ROZZANO - improved three-wide in the middle stages.

MELINA LOWE - held up a by tiring runner near the 600 metres.
FIERY FERRET - weakened from the 700 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver M Williamson reported the gelding had felt lethargic throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Co-trainer Mr G Knight advised he would have blood tests conducted during the coming week and undertook to inform the Stewards of any findings.
I'M TROUBLE - raced three-wide throughout. Weakened from the 400 metres.
OSSESSIONE - raced wide into the first bend. Weakened from the 400 metres.
GRACE BURNS - raced wide into the first bend. Held up for clear racing room in the middle and latter stages of the home straight.

THE RED ROBBER - broke late in the score-up and checked EL CAPITAN necessitating a false start be declared. Driver T Williams elected to retain his allotted position for the restart. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the gelding.
SON OF LANA - reluctant to come up to the mobile barrier despite the efforts of driver N Williamson and was back at the start. Broke free of interference passing the 50 metres.
HONEY CULLEN - raced wide rounding the first bend. Weakened from the 600 metres. Hung inwards and paced roughly near the 350 metres.
DOUBLE RAINBOW - raced three-wide through the early stages.
THE NIGHT HAWK - paced roughly through the middle stages and lost ground with the body of the field.
EL CAPITAN - raced keenly through the middle stages.
