Race 9 - AIRPARK CANTERBURY TROT
Co-trainers C & J Kennett defended a breach of Rule 863 in that they started WESTAR BELLA when in an unfit condition to compete. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties, the JCA reserved their decision.

Race 4 - ASHBURTON MSA LIQUOR CENTRE PACE
Driver P Court (MONGOLIAN SPEAR) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $200.

Race 1 - BISHOPDALE & BUSH INN TAB'S (AMATEUR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
Trainer R Cameron advised Stewards on 21 September that blood tests taken from IT'S A DEAL revealed no abnormalities. Mr Cameron added that in his opinion that the gelding may have flipped its palate during the race at Addington on 20 September and he will monitor the gelding's progress over the coming days as it continues with its preparation.
Race 6 - "DOWNBYTHESEASIDE" NEW TO WOODLANDS 2018 MOBILE PACE
Driver G Smith (SAILS) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly by allowing his horse to strike the sulky wheel of FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ rounding the final bend resulting in his horse breaking and losing its chance. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Mr Smith's horseman's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 30 September. (3 Days)

MAJESTIC MANNEQUIN - broke leaving the final bend.
JAZZY TROUBLE - Stewards questioned driver M Heenan regarding the amount of vigour he displayed in the run home. Mr Heenan explained that the horse had trotted roughly at its previous starts when placed under pressure and for this reason he had been reluctant to apply the whip in a more vigorous manner. After considering the matter Mr Heenan was advised that he must not drive in a manner that leaves himself open to query.
SUPERFAST NINJA - broke shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the horse's barrier record. Authorisation of 4th place was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages.
LISTEN EASY - hung inwards when racing around the bends. Lost ground from the 500 metres. Broke near the 250 metres when hampered by a breaking runner.
MAJICION - broke after 100 metres losing all chance.
BOYZ INVASION - broke after 100 metres losing all chance.

JINGLE JINGLE - hung inwards entering the home straight.
MY PATRONUS - raced keenly middle stages. Held up leaving the final bend.
SHERRY BABY - paced roughly early stages. Broke rounding the first bend losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
MOCKINGJAY - held up final bend and until late in the home straight.

ITZ MAJOR LOOK - began awkwardly. Hung outwards and shifted up the track in the early stages of the home straight.
SMIRKEN - hung outwards throughout the run home.
THE DUDE - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
OVER WEST - fractious prior to the start. Stood on the mark losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened final bend.
KENNEDY - broke near the 300 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
MONGOLIAN SPEAR - broke at the start. Commenced to weaken from the 400 metres.

RAGNARR - hung inwards throughout the run home.
MONGOLIAN MACHETE - hung inwards from the 700 metres and failed to run on. When spoken to regarding the performance trainer/driver P Court advised he could offer no explanation. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of this colt in the coming days.
DONEGAL ART CHOKIN - raced wide early and middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
HE'S A LADIES MAN - Stewards approved a late driver change to M Williamson. Over raced middle stages. Held up for clear racing room rounding the final bend and paced roughly late in the run home.

JOUR HIGHNESS - broke at the start. Trotted roughly in the home straight.
WANDERING STAR - checked at the start losing ground. Weakened final bend. The all clear was delayed until Stewards had viewed a replay of the start and were satisfied that WANDERING STAR had not been denied a fair start.
OUR GRACIE - shifted in as the start was effected checking inside runner before breaking. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
EDEN CREEK - held up final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
STELLAR SUCCESS - held up leaving the final bend.
BELMONT'S GREATEST - late scratching on veterinary advice at 7.30am. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
HOLLY TROUBLE - broke near the 1600 metres. Authorisation of 4th place was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the mare had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking in the middle stages.
MICKEY JAY - paced at the start and had to be restrained into its correct gait losing all chance.
RYDGEMONT SON - hung inwards throughout the run home.

GO KIWI - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A final warning was placed on its barrier record. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer M McIntyre.
BOOMER BAILEY - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
SMARTER VC - hung inwards final bend and paced roughly near the 300 metres.
ROCKI WARRIOR - held up for clear racing room throughout the run home and paced roughly over the concluding stages.
CLASINA MARIA - hampered by a breaking runner after 100 metres and had to be steadied.

MYSISTERSASTAR - over-raced through the middle stages. Hung outwards throughout the run home.
THE NIGHT HAWK - over-raced early stages. Driver M Hurrell reported that the gelding had paced roughly during the running. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
NERVE OF STEEL - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver C Purvis. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
PLAYBOY PRINCE - weakened final bend.
PAT CAMPBELL - over-raced when being restrained through the early stages. Held up for clear racing room near the 100 metres. Driver K Tomlinson advised she did not activate the sliding blinds.
SHEEZ GOOD - held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
SANS LE SOU - held up by a tiring runner on the final bend.

CAPTAIN DOLMIO - paced roughly near the 300 metres. Lay inwards leaving the final bend. Briefly held up for clear racing in the early stages of the run home.
QUEEN BEE BARDON - displayed poor barrier manners prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened final bend.

SUNDONS FLYER - held up final bend.
PLAYBOY'S BROTHER - held up final bend.
THE DOMINATOR - trotted roughly first bend.
PYRAMID MAGIC - held up early stages of the run home. Hampered near the 150 metres.
ALDERBECK - driver B Williamson was warned to exercise care when shifting ground near the 150 metres.

BEAUDIENE GAMBLER - held up final bend and in the early and middle stages of the run home.
MOTU SPEEDY STAR - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1200 metres. Held up final bend.
JUST DANCE - raced wide first bend.
SCOTLYNN HARRY - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 800 metres. Weakened final bend.
LIS AMORE - held up final bend.
REGAL SUZY - held up final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
DOC SEELSTER - Stewards granted permission for the gelding to race in alternate colours. Out of position at the candy pole and start. Driver D Reardon was issued with a warning. Held up final bend and in the early and middle stages of the run home.
CLIFTON TACTIC - out of position at the candy pole and start. Driver L McKay was issued with a warning.

BURNING RUBBER - lay inwards over the concluding stages. Driver R May admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Mr May's horseman's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 30 September (3 days).
ARMA TWOSPOONS - held up final bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.
PEGASUS KOMMANDER - held up for clear racing room rounding the final bend and in the run home.
AVEROSS RUSTLER - briefly held up for clear racing room near the 100 metres.
CHANGE THE PRINT - raced wide early stages.
FLYIN MILLY MAC - raced wide early stages. Held up final bend. Stewards questioned driver T Williams regarding the tactics he adopted passing the 1000 metres when electing to shift ground inwards and race on the marker line. Mr Williams explained that the horse was best suited when racing with cover and after becoming positioned towards the rear of the field felt his best option was to shift inwards and save ground as the three wide line had not commenced to improve. After hearing from Mr Williams, Stewards were satisfied that his actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.
OK I'M BAD - raced wide early stages.
LEADING THE WAY - held up for clear racing room rounding the final bend and in the early and middle stages of the home straight. Crowded late in the run home and struck pylons. Notwithstanding this driver J Morrison was spoken to regarding the manner he drove in the home straight when improving into a marginal run.
SADHANA - lay inwards over the concluding stages.
