OPAWA MAJESTIC - broke passing the 1800 metres.
MASIES PRIDE - inconvenienced by a breaking runner at the 1800 metres.
SUPERFAST NINJA - broke at the start.
DORA EXPLORER - broke passing the 1600 metres. Broke again with 600 metres to run.
THE BADGER - trotted roughly and broke briefly passing the 250 metres.
MAJESTIC DE FENCE - hung outwards in the final straight.

A false start was declared when AVEROSS SPITFIRE galloped just prior to the dispatch interfering with DREAMINSOVER, with AVEROSS SPITFIRE electing to remain in its original position for the restart. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier record.
TOM RULE - gave ground from the 700 metres. Driver B Williamson advised Stewards that the gelding had over raced throughout and he was disappointed with its performance. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with Trainer P Robertson in the coming days.
THISLADYROCKS - broke racing into the first bend losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mares barrier record.
AVEROSS SPITFIRE - broke racing into the first bend losing its chance. Trainer A Faulks was spoken to regarding the geldings performance and he advised Stewards that the horse would be returned to the trials with gear alterations prior to a race day start.
BETTER GALLEON - after a failed attempt to lead, Driver S Tomlinson had difficulty restraining the mare to take cover near the 1800 metres due to the horse over racing.
VINCENZO DENARIO - broke in the score up and was well back at dispatch. Driver B McLellan was shown the films and spoken to regarding driving his horse out fully over the concluding stages.

TOP BRASS - held up by weakening runner near the 600 metres.
WAYWARD ROC - weakened from the 600 metres. Trainer T Stratford advised Stewards that the mare would no longer be continued with from his stables.
TETRICK - raced wide early stages.
JUSTAN'S SISTER - raced wide early stages. Raced three wide without cover from the 1200 metres. Junior Driver E Barron was spoken to in regards to the manner she drove round the final bend when allowing her runner to shift outwards which presented a run to EL DINERO. Miss Barron explained that she had reacted to some calling from her inside and felt that a runner may have been receiving some pressure which she then attempted to relieve.
ANNIE FITZ - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier record.
HAPPY STYX - Driver A Armour admitted a Breach of Rule 869(2), which alleged he used his whip on more occasions than permitted under the Use of the whip regulations - clause (b). After a hearing the JCA imposed a fine of $300.

REAL CHANGE - over raced near the 1400 metres.
 
Race 5DUNCAN COTTERILL HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
KIWI CRUSHER - pre race warmed.
RED HOT POKER - trotted roughly and broke with 700 metres to run losing its chance. Driver T Williams was spoken to and advised that the horse had raced keenly and had struck its own sulky wheel. He has advised the trainer to make gear alterations to the gelding for future racing.

GOTTA BE DOWNTOWN - paced roughly racing into the bend near the 900 metres.
BETTOR TRENZ - hung inwards throughout the home straight having to be corrected on several occasions.
HEDONIST FRANCO - weakened from the 400 metres.
BHAKTI - hampered near the 900 metres.
CHIEF KAPAI - raced wide early stages. Broke at the finish post due to runners on either side marginally shifting ground.
LORRETTA FRANCO - paced roughly in the score up. Hung outwards throughout the home straight having to be corrected on several occasions.

HURRICANE BANNER - slow to begin.
BALIUS - broke at the start losing ground. Driver E Barron was questioned regarding the manner she drove near the 1400 metres when an opportunity was presented to follow BETTOR SENSATION forwards into the one-one. Miss Barron advised that she felt that runner may improve to the lead and was reluctant to race in the parked position. The comments of Miss Barron were accepted. Miss Barron was further questioned regarding the manner she drove on the final bend when shifting outwards allowing a run to an inside runner. Miss Barron explained her horse had hung outwards and she had some difficulty in activating gear which allowed her runner to shift over further ground. Stewards advised Miss Barron that it was expected she makes a better effort in future to maintain a straight course.
BETTOR SENSATION - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the geldings barrier record.
 
Race 8SPEIGHTS JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
THE NIGHT HAWK - Junior Driver M Hurrell reported that the gelding was striking a wheel and pacing roughly throughout.
EL CAPITAN - Stewards questioned driver J Campbell regarding his decision to vacate the one-one near the 1600 metres and shift forward to race in the parked position. Mr Campbell explained that his horse was better suited to racing in the open mainly due to it lacking speed when coming off another horses back. He said his decision was also based on the slow tempo being set in the middle stages which did no suit his runner.
B MAC C - Junior Driver K Butt was asked about the manner in which she drove her horse. Miss Butt explained that the horse is unsuited to having to work in it's races and performs best when able to obtain a covered run until late in the race. She added that she expected other runners would take her into the race however due to the slow tempo of the middle stages this did not happen. Stewards noted her comments and accepted her explanation.

ED WOOD - Driver D McCormick was spoken regarding the manner in which he drove over the concluding stages. He was warned and advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.
BELMONT'S GREATEST - tightened for room by inside runner in the final stages of the run home.
MADABOY - broke passing the 800 metres where Driver C Thornley advised that the gelding had stumbled at that point.
TAIMATE RAFFA - broke shortly after the start.
SAGE TROUBLE - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
RYDGEMONT SON - raced wide for the last 1000 metres.

SELENA FRANCO - held up final bend.
AVEROSS FERRARI - hampered by outside runner shortly after dispatch causing the gelding to break and lose all chance.
OMAR SHARIF - hung inwards shortly after the dispatch severely hampering the inside runner with consequential effects. A warning was placed on the geldings barrier record.
POSSENTE CAVALLO - suffered a punctured left sulky tyre shortly after the start with the tyre displacing from the rim. Stewards questioned Driver R Close into the manner in which he went to the lead shortly after the start. After hearing Mr Close's explanation Stewards adjourned the matter for further enquiries to be made.
STUNIN LOVE - Trainer P Court was issued with a $50 minor infringement notice for being late to notify a gear change. Raced wide around first bend. When questioned regarding the horses performance driver B Orange explained that when considering the horses wide draw and having to race wide early he was not disappointed.
IGOTTASTAR - badly hampered by breaking runner shortly after the dispatch.
ROZZANO - hampered in the early stages and had to be steadied.
MR MIDNIGHT - hampered in the early stages and had to be steadied.
