Race 5 - HYNDS HANDICAP PACE
Trainer P Burrows advised Stewards on 10 August that FRIEND has recovered well from its run on 3 August. Mr Burrows added that he will have more veterinary tests undertaken this week and will advise Stewards if any irregularities are revealed.

Race 1 - JUST ESSENCE HANDICAP TROT
The connections of EDESIA advised Stewards on 8 August that the mare has recovered well from its disappointing performance at Forbury Park last week and advised that EDESIA had not travelled particularly well with this possibly contributing to the poor run.
Race 6 - DUNCAN COTTERILL MOBILE PACE
Trainer D Williamson advised Stewards on 7 August that an endoscopic examination of NERVE OF STEEL revealed no abnormalities with the gelding performing in a satisfactory fashion at trials on Wednesday.

Race 1CADET OF THE YEAR FINALISTS TROTVideo  Video 
FEKITOA - broke with 2050 metres to run. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations.
OPAWA MAJESTIC - trotted roughly for a distance from the 900 metres.
CUCKOOS NEST - raced wide early stages.
THIS WAY COMES - raced wide early stages. Broke with 700 metres to run.
LOCKSMITH - Driver G Smith advised the deafeners were not activated due to having the field covered.
CABELLA NOIR - broke in the early stages.
RAINING IN MY HEART - tangled away. Trotted roughly and had to be steadied near the 500 metres.
TOPNOTCH TITAN - raced wide early stages. Broke with 700 metres to run.

FLYIN MILLY MAC - raced keenly in the score up.
JOHNNY WHITE - broke early in the score up.
DOCTOR TIM - held up early stages of the run home.
CHLOE - hung inwards exiting the final bend and in the early stages of the run home. Raced lethargically for a period passing the 1100 metres. Driver S Ottley reported she was unable to activate the removable deafeners. When questioned regarding the performance, driver S Ottley advised that in her opinion the horse is better driven with a sit however the race had not been run to suit due to it being slow through the early and middle stages and a sprint home. Miss Ottley further advised that the mare had hung throughout and she would be recommending gear changes prior to its next start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

MISS BIG - held up on the final bend.
FRANCO TEXAS - over-raced early stages when being restrained.

A false start was declared due to several runners being inconvenienced.
BETTOR BACKIM - held up early stages of the run home.
TAKE AFTER ME - inconvenienced near the 150 metres and had to be steadied.
SCOTLYNN JUSTIS - Junior driver A Stewart was cautioned for the manner in which she drove near the 150 metres when allowing this gelding to shift inwards causing an inconvenience to inside runners.
MAGICAL MATTY - raced wide through the early and middle stages.
PRESTONPANS - out of position at dispatch. Driver C Jones was issued with a caution. Held up round the final bend and early stages of the run home. Driver C Jones reported that due to this he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners.
LONDON DELIGHT - raced wide early stages. Commenced to over-race when reaching the parked position.
 
Race 5ROBERT DUNN "THE PLOUGH HOTEL TRAINER OF THE YEAR" PACEVideo  Video 
ADJUDICATOR - inconvenienced first bend. Broke near the 50 metres after being shifted up the track by SHINING FROST (K Cameron). Stewards questioned drivers M Williamson and K Cameron regarding this incident and after hearing from both drivers, took the matter no further.
FRANCO NUBOLT - inconvenienced first bend. Driver C Thornley advised the gelding had hung inwards rounding the final bend and had proved difficult to improve outwards.
SHINING FROST - held up middle stages of the run home.
SISTINA - raced greenly negotiating the first bend and had to be steadied causing an inconvenience to ADJUDICATOR and FRANCO NUBOLT. Weakened from the 400 metres.
ROSIE'S ROB - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
A BETTER DANCER - driver B Hope, assisted by Senior Horseman D Dunn, admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After submissions on penalty the JCA suspended Mr Hope's Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 19 August 2018 up to and including 2 September 2018 ( 4 days).
BERAGIO - broke shortly after the start and again on several occasions through the running. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial.

I'LDOITMYWAY - broke shortly after the start.
FUTURE QUEEN - trotted roughly through the early stages and broke briefly after 200 metres.
TOKYO JOE - a false start was declared when TOKYO JOE reared just prior to the barrier being released causing interference to SUGARINSPICE. A warning was placed on gelding's barrier record.
LIGHTWORKOFIT - displayed poor barrier manners at the first attempt at a start. Again displayed poor barrier manners for the re-start and as a result contacted the barrier strand on release with a warning placed on the gelding's barrier record. Broke on several occasions during the running. Payment of dividends was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had not been denied a fair start.
LAVROS JACK - paced early and had to be steadied back into its correct gait.

EVERY OPTION - late scratching.
OPAWA MACH - held up through the early and middle stages of the run home.
MORDECAI - raced wide early stages.
BEAU VISTA - over-raced when being restrained early. Held up early stages of the run home.
DONEGAL DAVY BOYD - late scratching.
DE LANCOME - held up through the early and middle stages of the run home. Driver J Dunn reported the deafeners were not activated in consequence.
DUNDEE LADY - when questioned regarding the improved performance, driver G Smith advised that the mare had benefited from its first up race and the lesser class of opposition today.

TINTIN NATURALLY - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
STOPPITT - hung inwards racing into the first bend. Weakened final bend.
KEY REACTOR - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained. Continued to over-race in the middle stages. Held up throughout the run home.
