Race 9 - MORRISONS SADDLERY MOBILE PACE
Driver N Williamson admitted a Breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used whip on more occasions than is permitted in Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After hearing the evidence the JCA suspended his horseman's licence from the conclusion of racing on 11th August up to and including racing on the 23rd August (3 days).

Race 1JUST ESSENCE HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
DANIELLE MARIE - broke shortly after the start. Weakened over the concluding stages.
WHANGAMATA - hung outwards and shifted up the track briefly near the 1400 metres. Hung outwards round final bend, weakening over the concluding stages.
EDESIA - Driver K Butt, when spoken to regarding the performance of the mare, advised she was disappointed with the run and the horse underwent a post race Veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days.
MATAI JETSTAR - trotted awkwardly after the start losing ground. Hung inwards when racing round the bends. Trainor/Driver A Milne was questioned regarding his lack of vigour over the concluding stages, he advised that the horse was renowned for losing its gait when placed under pressure and at times through today's race had trotted roughly. He also advised that the gelding is new to the trotting ranks after racing as a pacer early in its career. Mr Milne was hopeful with the gelding gaining more experience throughout the season he would be able to place more pressure on the horse through the final stages.

DAYS OF REDEMPTION - held up for racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
LAST HARAH - Driver B McLellan was spoken to by Stewards regarding his use of whip under Rule 869(2) and Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. Mr McLellan admitted the breach and was issued a fine of $200 by the JCA.
ONEDIN EXPRESS - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide from the 600 metres. Weakened in the home straight.
NANELLE FRANCO - raced wide in the early stages.
MIDNIGHT PARTY - paced roughly in the early stages. Hung inwards round final bend and broke near the 170 metres. A warning was placed on the geldings racing manners.

BILLY KLONDIKE - weakened when entering the home straight.
ROZZANO - hampered on final bend for several strides by breaking runner.
BETTOR SENSATION - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
MACHIE MACH - raced keenly round final bend then hampered for several strides by breaking runner.
DONEGAL CARRICKFIN - broke shortly after entering the home straight.

NICKY ANEW - weakened from the 300 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance of the mare, Driver D Dunn advised he was disappointed with her efforts. The connections advised it was their intention to re-asses the horses position in their stable in the coming days.
MACH O'MELLEY - weakened from the 500 metres.
TOM RULE - raced wide in the early stages. Racing into the first bend the gelding placed inside runners in restricted room. Driver B Williamson was spoken to by Stewards and reminded of his obligations.
JAMIES BAD BOY - late scratching on Veterinary advice.
BETTER GALLEON - paced roughly for a few strides on the final bend then became awkwardly placed near the pylons upon entering the passing lane.
JINGLE JINGLE - raced keenly through the middle stages.
THE LAST STRAW - broke at the start with a warning being placed on its barrier record. The all clear was delayed until Stewards could determine whether the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations shortly after the start.
 
Race 5DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
BUB'S VC - had some difficulty holding its position through the middle stages.
PORT DELIGHT - held up by tiring runner round final bend. Driver B Laughton was spoken to regarding his tactics near the 500 metres mark where he did not improve his position into the 3 wide line. Mr Laughton advised the horse races better with one run and he elected to stay in instead of improving at this point. He was mindful of the horses previous performance hence his decision not to improve. Stewards noted his explanation.
BALIUS - ran out shortly after the start. Raced keen in the parked position through the middle stages. Weakened from the 400 metres.
MOTU TOP MACH - hung and paced roughly in the score up and as a result was out of position at the dispatch with a warning being placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hung inwards through the early stages of run home.
 
Race 6DUNCAN COTTERILL MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
CLIFTON TACTIC - inconvenienced by tiring runner near the 500 metres. Driver L McKay reported she was unable to activate the gear due to the cord malfunctioning and also advised that she dropped her whip in the home straight.
IVANA LEGACY - inconvenienced by tiring runner near the 500 metres.
KAMWOOD KID - Trainer M House was fined $100 for failing to affix the correct number. Ran outwards in the home straight when under pressure.
NERVE OF STEEL - weakened final bend. Trainor D Williamson advised that she will have the gelding scoped in the coming days and will advise Stewards of any irregularities.
FERRITTS SISTER - weakened from the 500 meters inconveniencing trailing runners. Co-trainer G Knight advised that blood tests will be conducted on the mare in the coming days and any irregularities will be communicated to the Stewards.
COMMAND LUSTRE - Trainer G Anderson was fined $100 for failing to affix a number.

BONO HEST - shifted up the track throughout the run home. Junior Driver E Barron was shown the films and reminded of her obligations of keeping straight in the run home.
MUSCLE PAT - began awkwardly.
IMRAN KHAN - raced keenly through the middle stages. Held up round final bend.
DUSKY EYRE - trotted roughly negotiating the first bend and had to be steadied.

NEVE FRANCO - weakened from the 600 metres. A final warning was placed on the horses racing performance.
HONEY CULLEN - raced keen whilst leading through the middle stages.
TETRICK - paced roughly in the score up and as a result was out of position at dispatch with a warning being placed on its mobile barrier record.
ALEXY - Stewards spoke to Junior driver C Purvis, in the presence of Senior driver B Williamson, regarding her whip action. Miss Purvis was shown the films and admitted the breach under Rule 869(2) and Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. The JCA imposed a suspension from the conclusion of racing today 5th August up to and including 17th August (3 days).
