LOUD AN PROUD - inclined to lay in rounding the bends.
WAINGARO MARA - broke approaching the 1400 metres when racing keenly after there was an easing of the pace. Held up rounding the final bend.

SIR GEORGE BOWEN - broke shortly after the start. Inconvenienced by a breaking runner and broke passing the 400 metres.
MY BOY BOO - broke passing the 2000 metres. Authorisation of the 4th placing was withheld until it was confirmed that the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
XTRA TIME - broke shortly after the start and again passing the 400 metres inconveniencing a trailing runner. The mare was placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
PRETORIUS - broke for a several strides racing into the first bend. Trotted roughly over the final stages.
ABOVE THE REST - broke approaching the 2000 metres but settled quickly.
LUNDQVIST - broke passing the 700 metres losing all chance.

LINCOLN STREET - raced fiercely in the lead over the early and middle stages.
TROPICANA CHIP - held up on the final bend then paced roughly and broke for several strides entering the home straight.

EDAMFAST - Junior Driver T Lethaby, assisted by Senior Driver S Lawson, was cautioned for racing over the final marker peg at the entrance to the passing lane in the run home. Stewards were satisfied that no unfair advantage had been gained that affected the outcome of the race.
DUN IT BAD - failed to get clear racing room throughout the run home and Junior Driver F Schumacher did not activate the deafeners as a result.
RED REACTOR - paced roughly rounding the final bend and broke for a stride passing the 300 metres.
THE LONE RANGER - paced roughly inside the 1200 metres. Broke free of interference passing the 700 metre losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners record.
LAGERTHA - out of position by 2 lengths at the start. Raced three wide over the middle stages before improving to the lead approaching the 1000 metres. Junior Driver K Blakemore, assisted by Senior Driver J Dickie, was cautioned in regard to being back from position throughout the score up.
VIEWFIELD GNAT - out of position by 3 lengths at dispatch. Junior Driver A Harrison, assisted by Senior Driver J Stormont, was cautioned in regard to being back from position throughout the score up.

SAMARIAS FALCON - lay out final turn.
ARTANNE - raced three wide early.
RICHARD LE FORT - broke in the initial stage of the score up losing considerable ground. Tired final stages. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners.
WYNBERG JEWEL - lay in badly throughout the running and in particular on the final turn losing its chance. A warning was placed on this mare's racing manners.

BAQUERO - paced roughly and galloped for several strides shortly after the start inconveniencing a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners.
ATOM HANOVER - gave ground inside the 500 metres inconveniencing a trailing runner.
FRANCO EMPIRE - inconvenienced by a weakening runner inside the 500 metres.
KIWI TINTIN - raced three wide early.
SOMETHINGABOUTMARY - improved from the rear three wide from inside the 1200 metres. Raced four wide from inside the 900 metres.
SPARE CHANGE - inconvenienced shortly after the start.
 
Race 7MR SHIFT IT FURNITURE REMOVALS MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
ROSE RYAL - broke in the score up inconveniencing a second row runner and caused a false start. Driver N Chilcott elected to retain its barrier 1 position for the restart. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners.
MADAM SECRETARY - weakened from inside the 1200 metres finishing well back. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Driver J Abernethy advised he felt the mare had choked down. A warning was placed on MADAM SECRETARY's racing manners.
THE PEACEMAKER - broke at 1050 metres after contacting the sulky of MADAM SECRETARY which was giving ground. Junior Driver S Iremonger was shown the replay, with the assistance of Senior Horseman S Lawson, and cautioned in regard to the manner in which he drove in this incident and warned to exercise greater care in the future.
 
Race 8MITRE 10 MEGA CAMBRIDGE HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
SEQUOIA - broke at the start losing its chance.
BK SUPERSTAR - broke for several strides shortly after the start.
LITTLE BRO - broke briefly at the start.
MONARO MIA - raced at the rear throughout before attempting to improve wide on the final turn and finished on into 6th place beaten 2.6L. When questioned regarding the performance and tactics adopted Driver S Abernethy stated that the mare had peaked on its run at its previous start in its first race back from a short spell and that he felt attempting to improve mid-race was not his best option given the solid tempo being set by the leaders. Mr Abernethy further explained that IL PIRATA, which he had followed, had not taken him forward into the race as he had hoped and that his mare had then been on one rein when attempting to improve around that runner on the final turn. Mr Abernethy's explanation was noted.
