Race 7 - YALDHURST HOTEL MOBILE TROT

S McNally was issued with and defended a charge alleging a breach of Rule 869(3)(f). The details of which were that on the final bend he shifted his runner STAR PRIDE outwards allowing the trailing HEAVENLY LOVE an unobstructed run to the finish line. After considering all submissions and reviewing the films the JCA upheld the charge and suspended Mr McNally's Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 27 July 2018 up to and including 12 August 2018 (5 days).

Driver M Edmonds (UNIQUE MARSHALL) was warned to make a greater effort to prevent his runner from shifting inwards near the 250 metres resulting in CRADDOCK being crowded for racing room.

Race 9 - NEXT MEETING 22ND JULY MOBILE PACE

Trainer G Smith advised Stewards on 19 July that blood tests taken from RED MOON RISING following its disappointing performance at Rangiora on 8 July showed no abnormalities. Mr Smith added that he has altered the gelding's training regime in preparation for a resumption this week.

MYBOYLOLLIEPOP - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
JOEY MAGUIRE - An Information was adjourned regarding the manner in which driver P Wallace used his whip in the run home.
JONTY JAMES - raced wide early stages. Driver T Woodward was fined $500 for using his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations.
MR MIDNIGHT - raced wide round the final bend.
ROYAL JESTER - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver A Edge. Raced four wide near the 600 metres.
PEGASUS KOMMANDER - shifted outwards approaching the 100 metres causing BETTOR BACKIM to race in restricted room. Driver W Low was shown the films and advised to exercise care.

VALLEY STAR - broke at the start. Hampered near the 700 metres.
ROGIE FALLS - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Broke shortly after the start. Over-raced in the middle stages.
DEBORAHS GEM - broke over the concluding stages. Driver M Williamson reported the filly to have lost both toe weights.
LITTLE MISS - broke shortly after the start. Again broke racing into the first bend. A warning was placed on the mare's racing record.
RAINING IN MY HEART - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Trainer A Garters requested his gelding be placed on the unruly for upcoming standing starts. Hampered near the 700 metres. Trotted roughly on the final bend losing ground.
PASTRANA - hampered in the early stages. Hampered near the 700 metres.
DESERT PRINCE - broke with 700 metres to run and shifted outwards hampering several runners. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record. Driver G Smith reported the gelding to have hung throughout and advised he would be recommending gear changes to trainer R Marshall.

wl5tTsfXer8 FLYIN MILLY MAC - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the filly's performance driver D Dunn reported his horse to have over-raced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
FRANCO HAMPTON - over-raced in the middle stages.
HIS ROYAL HARNESS - weakened over the final stages after working hard after the start and then racing wide from the 700 metres.
AWAYTOCULLECT - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver O Thornley.
Following this race driver D Dunn was stood down due to being unwell. Refer to summary above for replacement drivers.

WKEM29viYIg THE TIN SOLDIER - when questioned regarding the horse's performance driver M Williamson reported the gelding to have been unsuited by the rise in calibre of the opposition.
GO KIWI - lay inwards over the final stages.
KARMIC WAY - raced in restricted room late in the run home.
SAYING GRACE - over-raced middle stages.

THE PRINCE - broke shortly after the start. Hampered by a breaking runner leaving the final bend.

TROUBLE GIERO - broke after 300 metres and was retired from the race.
ARRAN CHIEF - hampered by a breaking runner leaving the final bend.

Race 6	PASCOES THE JEWELLERS MOBILE PACE Video
R_3JiPc5a4s DON'T TELL ANGE - broke racing into the first bend when in restricted room beside JUNGLE GEM. Stewards questioned drivers S Ottley (DON'T TELL ANGE) and B Borcoskie (JUNGLE GEM) regarding this incident where it was established that both horses had shifted ground marginally towards each other racing into the bend causing DON'T TELL ANGE to break. Stewards were not satisfied that any one horse or driver was solely to blame so took the matter no further other than to note the circumstances. Paced awkwardly through the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the right hind and was stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
DIVINIA BELLEZZA - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Heavily checked racing into the first bend losing ground.
BELLA VELOCE - paced roughly in the early stages when being taken forward having to be steadied. Sustained a punctured sulky tyre in the early stages.
MY NIKAYLA - hampered racing into the first bend.
ADIEU FLIRT - over-raced middle stages.
STATELY - kicked out and fell in the score up dislodging driver M Hurrell and was declared a late scratching by Stewards under Rule 213(1)(e). Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial prior to resuming. Driver M Hurrell was unharmed in this incident. A veterinary examination of STATELY revealed minor lacerations on the left forearm and right nasal passage.

ISLA'S JOY - raced fiercely in the early stages causing driver R Cameron considerable difficulty. Because of this made contact with the sulky of BELLA VELOCE in the early stages having to be heavily restrained losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
