AWAYANDRIDEYOURSELF - restrained early then raced three back on the outer in the middle stages before losing its position racing off the back straight and ran on over the final stages to finish in 6th place beaten 6 lengths. When questioned regarding the performance Driver Z Butcher explained that he had been unable to follow SPIRIT OF ANZAC when that runner improved three wide approaching the 500 metres due to having LE GIRL racing to his outside and felt that his gelding would improve with racing given that this was only its second race day start. | |

TERRIER - raced three wide from the 1100 metres but was under pressure approaching the 700 metres. Locked wheels with ALTA LEONIE passing the 650 metres after having been shifted wider on the track. An investigation was held into this incident and after hearing the relative evidence of B Butcher (COUNT LANDECK), C Smith (TERRIER) and F Schumacher (ALTA LEONIE) it was established that TERRIER had contributed to the incident by giving ground when shifted wider which resulted in the locking of wheels with ALTA LEONIE and no further action was deemed necessary. Tired badly final stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance record. | |

When questioned regarding the performance Driver Z Butcher explained that the pace had quickened when he commenced to improve approaching the 1200 metres so he elected to go back in before improving near the 600 metres however DUN IT BAD shifted out to a three wide position in front of him which resulted in MO CASINO then having to shift wider on the track to obtain clear running which made it difficult to make up ground on the fast final quarter run in 28.0. | |
