Race Comments
Race 1LADIES NIGHT 20th JULY TICKETS ON SALE NOW MOBILE PACEVideo  Video
A false start was declared due to BE MINE TONIGHT being in front of the mobile barrier arm in the score up. Stewards questioned driver J Keast in regards to this. After hearing from Mr Keast, it was established that the filly which had been over-racing had shifted outwards in the score up and as a result had become positioned ahead of the barrier arm. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of BE MINE TONIGHT. Notwithstanding this Mr Keast was warned to make a greater effort to prevent his runner from rushing ahead of the gate.
EVERY OPTION - held up final bend losing ground in consequence.
CULLENBURN - driver T Williams reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
BE MINE TONIGHT - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance of this filly driver J Keast advised that she had raced keenly throughout and he would remove her blinds for future racing. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Mr Keast undertook to notify Stewards of anything that may become apparent in the coming days that could explain the run.
ARCANO - held up final bend losing ground in consequence.

MAJESTIC MOMENT - over-raced middle stages. Held up by a tiring runner passing the 600 metres. Stewards questioned driver S Tomlinson as to why she had not shifted away from the back of the weakening BEG HALL near the 600 metres but instead allowed her runner to become covered by the improving three wide line. Miss Tomlinson explained that she had worked in the early and middle stages when racing to the outside of the leader and was mindful of the trainer's instructions to drive the gelding with cover if possible. She added that despite travelling well at the time and being fresh up felt the horse would not be suited to racing wide for that distance. After considering her explanation and reviewing the footage Stewards advised Miss Tomlinson that in future it was expected that she drive in manner which does not leave herself open to query.
RUTHLESS KAYLA - paced and then broke racing into the first bend and had to be restrained by driver J Morrison. Lay inwards leaving the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
