MOTU LITTLE PRINCESS - hung outwards early stages. Continued to run outwards through the back straight on the final occasion despite the efforts of Driver R Close causing an inconvenience to trailing runners. When questioned Mr Close advised that the horse had hung over the last 1600 metres and proved difficult. A post race Veterinary examination was conducted which revealed the mare to be lame in a hind leg. Stood down to trial on one occasion and until such time that a clearance could be provided. Trainer M Fuller advised the filly would be sent for a spell. | |
CLIFTON TACTIC - Junior Driver L McKay reported that she was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled. | |
GLENISTHEBETTOR - raced wide early stages. Held up on the final bend by a weakening runner. | |
TETRICK - had some difficulty maintaining its position in the field through early and middle stages. Lost contact with the field and began to tire from the 800 metres. | |

FEATHER BOYZ - a false start was declared due to the gelding contacting and releasing the barrier tape. Under pressure from the 700 metres and then weakened rounding the final bend. Returned to the enclosure with blood present in a nostril. A Veterinary examination determined the horse to be a bleeder. A one month stand down was imposed with the horse then having to pass a Veterinary examination prior to trialing. Driver B Williamson defended a breach of Rule 857(7)(a) in that he allowed his runner to breach the barriers causing a delay. After considering all evidence the JCA found the charge proved and imposed a fine of $200. | |
KIWI CRUSHER - over-raced getting its head up while being restrained to take cover near the 1200 metres. | |
ACE COMMANDER - Prior to tonight's meeting, Trainer B Norman informed Stewards that the gelding had sustained a minor laceration to its front leg. A pre-race Veterinary examination was conducted with the gelding getting a clearance to start in the field. Slow to begin. | |
GREY POWER - trotted roughly near the 1800 metres losing several lengths. Trotted roughly round the final bend and through the home straight. | |

Trainer A Hoffman was questioned regarding the improved performance of this gelding and explained the horse had today been driven in a manner to which he was best suited where placed with cover. Ms Hoffman said the horse had not been suited to the recent tactics of leading and she intended to have the horse driven this way when circumstances permit in future. | |
