Race 2 - BEACH ROAD HOLIDAY PARK MOBILE PACE
At a hearing held today, Driver G Lee defended a breach of Rule 868(3) alleging that he failed to drive MAGNATE MARA out to the end of the race when he had a reasonable chance of finishing in 4th place. After viewing the replays and hearing the evidence, the JCA upheld the charge and Mr Lee's Horseman's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 28 June 2018 (3 days).

Race 8 - HYDROFLOW DISTRIBUTORS MOBILE PACE
Driver D Dunn was questioned regarding the tactics he adopted on the final bend when driving ESPECIAL. Mr Dunn explained that the mare had been under pressure after over-racing throughout and pacing roughly resulting in him being shifted wider on the track by MIGHTY CONQUEROR. Mr Dunn added that he felt it was in his best interests to attempt to shift onto the back of MIGHTY CONQUEROR and gain some respite leaving the final bend. After hearing from Mr Dunn and viewing the replays, no further action was deemed necessary.

Race 4 - SOUTHERN OCEAN SAFETY MOBILE PACE
Trainer B Gray advised Stewards on 9 June that blood tests taken from LINC N ELLE after racing at Ascot Park on 4th June revealed that the filly was suffering from stress. Mr Gray added that she had since been treated and has worked well in preparation for a start next week at Forbury Park.
Race 7 - TERRY DIXON MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
Co-Trainer T McGrannachan advised Stewards on 6 June that following racing on Monday DANGEROUS was found to be suffering from a cold and will be given a short spell.
Race 8 - SOUTH PORT NZ LTD BLUFF CUP MOBILE PACE
Trainer K Larsen advised Stewards on 9 June that following it last start JAMES BUTT has been treated for dehydration and is now continuing with its current campaign.

THE BADGER - over-raced through the middle stages. Weakened on the final bend.
GLENDHU GEM - broke at the start losing all chance.
AMBRO AMEIGO - hung inwards in the home straight. Junior driver J Morrison was shown a replay of the run home and warned to make a greater effort to ensure full access to the passing the lane is available for trailing runners.

AKRIS - weakened from the 600 metres. Trainer/Driver S Lock reported that the mare was showing signs of muscle tie up following the race. The on-course veterinarian conducted blood tests on the horse with the results to be notified to Stewards in the coming days.
COMPLETE PACKAGE - hung inwards leaving the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver B Barclay advised the gelding had received every opportunity and had raced up to his expectations.
SHINDAL - hung inwards on the final bend. Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
MY BLUE HEAVEN - over-raced through the middle stages.
PETE'S DASH - raced wide through the early stages. Had to be steadied when becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky wheel of DISMARA passing the 200 metres.
BEN WASHINGTON - hung inwards and paced roughly late in the score-up and was out of position at the start. Over-raced through the middle stages.
DOUBT ME NOT - underwent and passed a pre-race veterinary examination after rearing in the birdcage and making contact with a rail. Driver S Walkinshaw admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by clause (b) of the Use of the Whip Regulations with the JCA imposing a fine of $200.
DISMARA - over-raced for a distance passing the 1400 metres. Shifted outwards marginally passing the 200 metres.

TACT MIESHA - broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground. Stood down to trial to the Stewards satisfaction on one occasion prior to racing next. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts at the request of trainer T Proctor. The connections advised the mare would now be sent for a spell.
BUSH MAN - had to be steadied near the 850 metres after becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of BE HOLME BY THREE. Held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. Driver M Williamson was warned for the manner he shifted ground near the 200 metres when placing outside runner in restricted room.
BE HOLME BY THREE - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver N Williamson explained the gelding had blown heavily following the race and had been disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
IVANA LEGACY - had to steady near the 850 metres after a slight easing of the pace. Held up on the final bend. Placed in restricted room near the 200 metres when BUSH MAN shifted outwards and had to be steadied. The all clear was delayed until driver A Armour had viewed a replay of the home straight and elected not to lodge a Protest against BUSH MAN. Mr Armour reported he had received a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
GLENS OF TEKOA - paced roughly shortly after the start.
AMERICAN MAC - raced wide in the early stages. Paced roughly near the 1100 metres when being restrained to obtain cover.
THE NAENAE EXPRESS - had to steady near the 850 metres after a slight easing of the pace and shifted outwards locking wheels with SOUTHIN EXCUSE for a short distance. Held up on the final bend.
RAKAGEM - hampered near the 800 metres.
SOUTHIN EXCUSE - locked wheels with THE NAENAE EXPRESS for a short distance approaching the 800 metres. Hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the final bend. Driver K Larsen reported he had received a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
KEY REACTOR - hung inwards on the bend near the 900 metres. Hung inwards again near the 200 metres.

SCARLETT LANE - broke at the start losing all chance.
CUDDLY TROUBLE - weakened leaving the final bend.
THUNDER BUDDY - hampered by a breaking runner in the home straight.
LYNETTE THE VET - hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages. Held up final bend.
GRACE O'MALLEY - hung inwards in the early stages.
MY AMOUR - underwent and passed a pre-race veterinary examination after the gelding had reared and become entangled with another runner prior to the start. Broke at the start. Broke again near the 2300 metres proving uncontrollable and required the assistance of the Clerk Of The Course. Stood down to trial to the Stewards satisfaction on one occasion prior to racing next. Trainer M Williams advised he would no longer be persevering with the gelding as a racing proposition from his stable.
ACE COMMANDER - Junior driver M Hurrell was examined by St John Ambulance Paramedics and cleared to drive after being struck by another runner prior to the start. Hung inwards in the home straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after falling to the track when returning to the birdcage following the race and was cleared of injury.
GREY POWER - broke near the 200 metres and continued in a break for the remainder of the race. A final warning was placed on the racing manners of the gelding.
SPLASH COLA - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Hampered by a breaking runner in the home straight.

COUNTRY SWING - underwent and passed a pre-race veterinary examination after stumbling in the birdcage. Out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver A Armour. A final warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the mare.
DRIFTIN AWAY - weakened on the final bend.
FUN SPONGE - weakened leaving the final bend. Caretaker trainer K Barclay reported that the mare would be retired from racing.
THEODORA HOPE - Raced wide in the early stages.
MISS MUNRO - raced wide in the early stages. Weakened on the final bend.
RAZCAL ALLEY - raced wide in the early stages.
ALSO JACCKA - hampered in the early stages. Hung inwards and struck pylons on the final bend. Shifted inwards in the early stages of the run home and again struck pylons. Driver B Williamson was warned to make a greater effort to ensure he does not make contact with track markers.
STAY ABOARD - held up on the final bend.

TRIPLE VC - held up on the final bend. Checked in the early stages of the home straight. Held up for clear racing room until late in the run home.
THE BULL PEN - underwent and passed a pre-race veterinary examination. Held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. Driver M Williamson reported he was unable to activate the sliding blinds applied to this gelding due to the cord breaking.
ANSETT FLIGHT - placed in restricted room late in the run home.
ZENOLA'S ART - raced wide round the first bend. Hung inwards into the passing lane in the early stages of the home straight despite the efforts of driver K Barclay resulting in trailing runners being checked. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
LADY'S LASS - held up on the final bend and throughout the home straight.
CHILLI FRANCO - raced wide rounding the first bend. Hung inwards in the home straight. Driver B Williamson admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by clause (b) of the Use of the Whip Regulations with the JCA imposing a fine of $200.
MISS FANDANGO - held up on the final bend. Checked in the early stages of the home straight. Held up for clear racing room until late in the run home.

COOLHAND EASTON - over-raced in the middle stages. Held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
LOVE THE BLUES - paced roughly in the score-up and was back slightly at the start. Hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the first bend. Driver R Swain reported a sulky tyre had deflated during the running.
RUNNING ON EMPTY - held up on the final bend.
UNLOADED - raced greenly in the score-up. Hung inwards on the final bend.
SCHWEINSTEIGER - raced keenly in the early stages.
I'M TROUBLE - raced wide round the first bend. Forced to race wide on the track from the 600 metres.
BROADWAY BANNER - weakened from the 1500 metres and was retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation with a veterinary clearance required before resuming.
RANGA ROC - improved wide from the 500 metres. Driver K Barclay was issued a Minor Infringement Notice pursuant to Rule 867 and fined $100 when she drove with her foot out of the sulky footrest in the home straight.

MAGNATE MARA - over-raced through the middle stages. Driver G Lee reported the gelding had hung inwards throughout the run home.

MY GEORGIE BOY - raced wide rounding the first bend.
MISTY MEMORY - held up on the final bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
BOLD RULER - paced roughly and broke in the score-up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the gelding.
KAGEE VC - held up on the final bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.

ROCKABALL - hung inwards and broke racing into the first bend checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the gelding. Trainer B Gray advised the gelding will now be sent for a short spell.
NAVAJO ART - raced wide rounding the first bend. Hung inwards throughout the home straight.
REPARTEE - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Raced wide early stages. Driver A Beck was warned for the manner he drove rounding the first bend when attempting to ease CANARDLY REMEMBER down the track when not in a position to do so. Locked wheels with CANARDLY REMEMBER for a short distance near the 1700 metres after a slight easing of the pace. Weakened final bend. Driver A Beck reported that his sulky tyre had punctured near the 500 metres with the tube becoming entangled around the axle of the wheel.
EL CAPITAN - paced roughly late in the score up. Hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend

CAST A SHADOW - checked by ROCKABALL racing into the first bend with Driver M Williamson becoming unbalanced in the sulky momentarily. Had to be steadied for a short distance passing the 1700 metres.
CANARDLY REMEMBER - checked racing into the first bend. Locked wheels with REPARTEE for a short distance near the 1700 metres after a slight easing of the pace. Raced wide without cover from the 800 metres.
