Trainer P Burrows advised Stewards on 8 June that following its performance at Ashburton on Sunday TOPSPINNER has been sent for a spell.
Race 10 - HI-JINKS FOR HAIR TIMARU MOBILE PACE
Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 8 June that SPIRIT OF DELIGHT has been retired from racing.
Race 11 - CHERTSEY TROTTING CLUB MOBILE PACE
Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 8 June that OMAR SHARIF received a knock to a tendon during its race at Ashburton on Sunday which has been treated. He added that the gelding has recovered well in preparation for a resumption at Addington on Thursday.

Race 1TELFERS NELSON MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
OBI ONE - had to be steadied near the 1600 metres due to an easing of the pace in the two wide line.
HE'S A LADIES MAN - raced wide in the early stages.
MIRANDA CULLEN - raced wide in the early and middle stages. Weakened from the 500 metres.
BETTOR TRENZ - junior driver M Purvis was cautioned for the abrupt manner in which he shifted ground nearing the 100 metres.
ROBYN'S GEM - was slow to leave the pre-race circle and as a result was out of position at dispatch. A final warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Had to be steadied near the 1600 metres due to an easing of the pace in the two wide line.
KACIE CULLEN - had to be steadied near the 1600 due to an easing of the pace in the two wide line. When spoken to regarding the fillies performance Driver B Orange was unable to offer any explanation and could only advise he had been disappointed with her efforts over the final stages. A post race veterinary examination showed no clinical abnormalities.

At the first attempt at a start FOREIGNER received a check from inside runners causing G Hunt to be tipped from the sulky. This runner then galloped free for a considerable distance with the race being stopped by Stewards after 300 metres with G Hunt lying injured on the track. FOREIGNER was declared a late scratching and horseman G Hunt was transported to hospital for further assessment. All runners were checked at the start by the Vet and cleared to take part in the re-start. FOREIGNER underwent a Veterinary examination and was cleared of any injury enabling it to take its place on the second day of the meeting.
Stewards were mindful of the delay in their distribution of penalties for this race.
MUCHACHA BONITA - broke at the start. This mare will now be drawn unruly for standing starts.
NOBLE MISTRESS - weakened on the bend near the 500 metres after making an unsuccessful attempt for the front during the middle stages. Stewards will speak with M Anderson about his tactics in the coming days.
LOOK BOTH WAYS - broke approaching the 400 metres.
CABELLA NOIR - broke in the early stages at both starts with a warning being placed on its barrier record.
VALLEY STAR - returned to the birdcage with blood present in a nostril. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to not be a bleeder. Placed on the unruly at the request of Trainer A Best.
TEQUILA SUNSET - broke on the bend near the 500 metres.
DESERT PRINCE - broke in the early stages. Again broke for a short distance entering the first bend. Again broke racing towards the 850 metres.
NATIVE ONEINAMILLION - broke after 150 metres.
CHIEF OF STAFF - broke in the early stages. 4th placing was withheld until it could be confirmed that the gelding did not gallop excessively in the early stages.
MADELEINE STOWE - trotted roughly on the final bend and again in the run home with driver P Davis being restricted in his ability to fully test the horse.
TOKYO JOE - trotted roughly and then broke for several strides on the final bend.
FOREIGNER - late scratched by Stewards - refer above.
MAGIC GALLEON - broke in the early stages.
NOBLE MISTRESS - when questioned regarding the manner he drove in the middle stages when making a sustained and eventually unsuccessful attempt for the front driver M Anderson explained that at the time prior to him improving towards the front the pace of the race had eased noticeably. He said that his runner performed best when the sectionals were even throughout as his was a mare who lacked speed. He added that it appeared the lead position was there for him but when he had gone half a length clear of of TAIMATE ANGUS that runner then improved and re-assumed the lead leaving him uncovered for the remainder. After considering his explanation Stewards determined his tactics to be reasonable and took the matter no further.

The start time was delayed 12 mins due to the accident in the previous race.
MACKS COURAGE - paced roughly near the 150 metres.
RAFA NOVAK - raced keen through the middle stages.
FINAL DELIGHT - out of position at the start despite the efforts of Driver K Cameron. Raced roughly in the early stages. Hung outwards under pressure on the final bend.
BONNIE BOY - hung inwards when racing round the bends.

The start time was delayed due to the accident in Race 2.
BOMBSHELL - over raced and paced roughly through the middle stages with Driver S Ottley unable to drive the horse competitively. Broke rounding the final bend losing its chance. A post race veterinary examination revealed no clinical abnormalities. A warning was placed on its racing manners. Trainer M Howard requested the filly be placed on the Unruly for its future standing starts and advised he would be making gear changes prior to the second day.
A BETTER DANCER - held up through the early stages of the run home losing ground in consequence.
ZIPPIDY DOODAH - began awkwardly. Raced roughly for several strides near the 1700 metres having to be steadied. Raced keenly for some distance near the 1300 metres. Held up on the final bend.
FRANCO TODDY -began awkwardly.
GIMMEFIVEMINUTESMORE - Stewards spoke with Driver S Abernethy regarding the manner he drove over the final stages and despite his gelding winning the race Mr Abernethy was spoken to and advised that it was expected he leave no room for query in his driving tactics.
BRONX VILLAGE - broke at the start. A final warning was placed on its barrier record.
 
Race 5RANGIORA EQUINE SERVICES/D & C BUTT MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
SONIC REIGN - when questioned regarding the geldings improved performance the connections advised the gelding had appreciated a drop back in class and benefited from the addition of Sliding blinds and an economical run throughout.
THREE SOCKS MISSING - broke shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the filly's racing record.
TRIBECA - lay outwards final stages.
BAKER CREEK - checked in the early stages having to take evasive action.
TORNADO - weakened final bend. Subjected to a post-race Veterinarian examination and found to have an elevated heart rate and poor recovery.
SPECIALE UNO - checked in the early stages having to take evasive action.
THE LAST STRAW - checked in the early stages having to take evasive action.
THREE IDEAS - refused to leave the pre race circle and then shifted outwards onto the grass track amongst the vehicles with the gelding unable to score up. Declared a non runner by Stewards under Rule 213 (1) (e).

THE JANDEL MACHINE - when questioned regarding the improved performance the connections advised that the gelding had derived considerable benefit from adjustments made to its hopples subsequent to its last start performance and had been able to capitalize on an economical run throughout today.
BLINGITON - Trainer L Prendergast was fined $100 for failing to present this gelding with the notified removable deafeners. Raced keen middle stages.
KIEL - raced wide early stages. The offside number hung loose during the running.
TAKE AFTER ME - raced wide early stages.
FREAK LIKE ME - raced wide through the early stages when being restrained to take cover. Raced keen round the final bend.
EARTHQUAKE - over raced through the early stages. Lay inwards throughout the run home.
 
Race 7NELSON PINE INDUSTRIES WINTER CUP PRELUDE (HCP PACE)Video  Video 
TAKITIMU EXPRESS - began awkwardly and then broke for a short distance. Weakened concluding stages. Showed signs of tie up on return to the stable complex with the gelding being withdrawn from the second day of the meeting.
WRANGLER - raced greenly through the front straight on the first occasion and shifted outwards when approaching the winning post.

RED MOON RISING - lay inwards at various stages through the running.
DIRECT CONTROL - weakened on the final bend after racing parked for the final 1400 metres. Driver B Orange explained that the colt had raced keenly and was of the belief it had choked down. Mr Orange added that it was his intention to drive the horse with a sit on the second day.
PIRATE BAY - paced roughly through the early stages when being restrained.
TUAPEKA TRICK - pre race warmed.

BACARDI N COKE - checked and broke near the 300 metres.
KAI TIME - weakened final bend. When allowing his gelding to open a considerable lead Driver M Anderson will be spoken to regarding this in the coming days.
RARANGI OPAL - broke shortly after the start. Broke again nearing the 1200 metres.
ELVIS P - raced wide in the early stages. Under pressure to maintain its position in the field from passing the 700 metres. A final warning was placed on the geldings performance record.
WESTY BOYZ - broke near the 350 metres.
BORNTOBEASTAR - broke racing into the first bend. A warning was placed on its racing record.
I'VE GOT THIS - broke nearing the 1300 metres. Again broke passing the 600 metres.
MILLIONDOLLARMONKEY - broke near the 500 metres.
ONE OVER DA STARS - broke at the start but settled quickly then broke again shortly after losing ground. Again broke nearing the 150 metres.
REDWOOD INVASION - galloped for several strides near the 500 metres.
KAI TIME - when questioned regarding the manner in which he handled his horse through the middle stages in allowing his horse to establish a considerable lead over the field M Anderson explained that he had noticed several other runners, who he viewed as key rivals, miss away and intended to make them work hard to catch the field. The horse then proved difficult for him by racing keenly and then began to trot roughly meaning he was not able to restrain as much as he would have preferred. Stewards accepted his comments.

EVERY OPTION - broke at the start. Held up in the early stages of the run home. The all clear was withheld until it could be confirmed that the gelding did not gallop excessively in the early stages.
SHADOWMAN - broke at the start.
SAYING GRACE - broke at the start.
JOEY MAGUIRE - raced wide through the early stages.
MAGICAL MATTY - briefly broke at the start. Was held up final bend and through the early stages of the run home. Broke near the 100 metres.

BELLE OF BROOKLYN - gave ground on the final bend after racing parked throughout.
JOHNNY WHITE - raced wide from the 650 metres and was then taken very wide from the 400 to continue improving.
MACHS MARETA - was held up rounding the final bend and in early stages of the run home.
