FOUR STARZZZ LEGEND - no claims lodged. Lacked gate speed at the start and paced unevenly racing into the first bend. Under pressure inside the final 400 metres and weakened out.
DOUBLE O HEAVEN - improved from the rear three wide with cover from inside the 1200 metres, reached a position outside the leader with 750 metres to run.

SPIRIT OF LOVE - checked racing into the first bend and impeded for several strides after locking wheels with the galloping SCOOB OPERATOR. Junior Driver T Cameron advised that his horse was laying in and racing in restricted room due to a runner to his outside also laying in.
ALTA LEONIE - Junior Driver F Schumacher was questioned by Stewards in regard to an incident racing into the first bend when SPIRIT OF LOVE and SCOOB OPERATOR were placed in restricted room. He explained that his gelding was laying in and was slow to respond to his efforts to relieve the pressure.
THE LONE RANGER - inconvenienced and took evasive action racing into the first bend.
SCOOB OPERATOR - broke racing into the first bend when in tight quarters, shifting outward and checking SPIRIT OF LOVE which in turn caused THE LONE RANGER to take evasive action. Junior Driver N Purdon, with the assistance of Senior Horseman S Phelan, advised that he was placed in restricted room by two runners to his outside. It was established that when he was reacting and taking evasive action he contacted the wheel of the sulky of TURBULENT FLOW which caused his horse to gallop. Stewards spoke to him advisedly in regard to this incident.

MISS BLISSFUL - broke at the start losing considerable ground and trailed the field throughout.
HERE WE ARE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
SAVITSKAYA - broke approaching the 1400 metres losing ground before settling. Broke near the 750 metres losing all chance.
KAY CEE - slow away. Broke near the 2000 metres losing considerable ground. Checked by a breaking runner approaching the 450 metres. The authorisation of the promoted 4th placing of this gelding was withheld until Stewards established that it had not breached the Breaking Horses Regulation over the early stages of the race.
MON ARCHIE WAY - broke approaching the 450 metres checking a trailing runner.
BEG FOR CHEVRON - broke under pressure inside the 200 metres failing to settle. A Protest was lodged against the mare's 4th placing on the grounds that it was in breach of the Breaking Horses Regulation after it galloped in excess of 50 metres inside the final 200 metres. The Protest was not contested and the mare was disqualified by the JCA.

GLENN FORD - the authorisation of the 1st placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed on the video coverage that GLENN FORD, which paced roughly and then broke for a single stride with 30 metres to run, was in its correct gait when its nose reached the finishing line.
LIKE A WILDFIRE - improved three wide from inside the 1300 metres to race outside the leader approaching the 900 metres.
 
Race 5SIMS PACIFIC METALS HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
SAFRAKOVA - fractious prior to the start causing a delay, then reared when the barrier strands were released recovering quickly. Lay in rounding the first bend, breaking passing the 1800 metres losing approximately five lengths and was inclined to lay in for the remainder of the race. A warning was placed on the filly's standing start manners.
COOL SON - an Information was lodged alleging that Horseman G Noakes used his whip in breach of the Whip Regulations. The breach was admitted and the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
LORD ROYDON - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Over-raced badly middle stages before improving around to race outside the leader near the 1000 metres.
GEENA'S GIRL - broke approaching the 900 metres losing its chance. Driver J Dickie advised that there was a slight easing of the pace and that when he took hold the mare became unbalanced.
AGOSTINI - broke passing the 850 metres losing its chance.

There was a four minute delay to the start after MAKAREWA JAKE required a sulky change as it sustained a flat tyre during its preliminary.
LOVELY BUNDY - slow away.
MEGAMIND - broke approaching the first bend. Broke passing the 400 metres losing its chance.
MAJESTIC ONE - broke passing the 1700 metres. Broke passing the 350 metres losing its chance.
TERESKOVA - slow away.
 
Race 7CROMBIE LOCKWOOD BLOODSTOCK MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
FOREVER PEARL - paced roughly on a couple of occasions rounding the final bend.
THREE KISSES - broke passing the 250 metres losing its chance after reacting to Horseman T Mitchell activating gear. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners record.
 
Race 8FRESHER FOODS HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
PUMA ROAD - swung sideways and veered outwards at the start then galloped a distance.
GEORGE - a Protest was lodged against the 5th placing of GEORGE in that it galloped the final 150 metres of the race in breach of the Breaking Horses Regulation. The Protest was not contested and the JCA disqualified the gelding from its 5th placing. A warning was placed on the racing manners record of GEORGE.
CHARLEMAGNE - inconvenienced by a galloping runner at the start.
SUNSET PEAK - Trainer D Butcher was charged a colour fee of $25.00. Over-raced outside the leader for the majority of the race and weakened in the run home.

BUSTER BRADY - broke shortly after the start galloping for a considerable distance. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until it was confirmed that the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners record of this gelding.
