A random selection of Drivers engaged to drive on today's programme were required to provide a sample of breath for the purpose of alcohol analysis.

Selected horses on today's programme were subjected to pre-race blood testing.

Race 10 - GARRARDS NZ SIRES STAKES SOPHOMORE CLASSIC (MOBILE PACE)
Trainer B Hill advised Stewards on 23 May that NAHOLO has recovered well after its performance at Addington last Friday where the gelding choked down. Mr Hill added that there are no signs of any soreness adding that NAHOLO will most likely return to the trials before resuming.

Race 2 - ONE SMART COFFEE PACE
Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 27 May that DONEGAL GILBERT has recovered well following its performance at Oamaru last weekend, adding that the gelding has had its hocks injected and will most likely resume at Ashburton on Queens Birthday weekend.
Race 4 - PICK AND SHOVEL TROT
Trainer J Clementson advised Stewards on 21 May that IDEAL INVASION was treated for a nasal discharge after racing at Oamaru last Sunday.

IREBY MEG - held up on the final bend. Checked and broke near the 350 metres.
OPAWA MACH - broke nearing the 350 metres when contacted from the inside by GAME CHANGER.
SHADOWMAN - weakened final bend.
GAME CHANGER - (L Darby) hung inwards and raced greenly negotiating the first bend. Commenced to weaken rounding the final bend. Broke near the 350 metres when allowed to shift up the track making contact with OPAWA MACH causing this mare to break and checking IREBY MEG, ALEXY and ILDIVO.
Driver L Darby, assisted by J Darby, admitted driving carelessly at this stage of the race and after hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Mr Darby's Amateur Licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 31 October 2018 and in addition imposed a fine of $200.00.
CLAUS - paced roughly racing into the first bend.
ILDIVO - raced wide without cover from the 1200 metres. Checked near the 350 metres.
FLAMBOYANT - raced wide in the early stages.
AVEROSS BRACHOLE - inconvenienced final bend.
ALEXY - badly checked and broke near the 350 metres losing its chance.
LIVING LEGEND - reluctant to leave the pre-race circle and as a result was slightly out of position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier record.

PASTRANA - slow through the early stages. Held up throughout the home straight.
CABELLA NOIR - held up through the early and middle stages of the run home.
WINDSOR - broke at the start. Broke over the final stages. When questioned regarding the performance driver M Edmonds advised the effort when improving in the back straight without cover had taken its toll over the final stages.
CLOVER LOU - trotted roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be driven out with any vigour. Driver C DeFilippi advised that due to the mare trotting in an uneven manner he refrained from activating the deafeners.
MADELEINE STOWE - broke at the start.
NOBLE MISTRESS - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start after racing at the NZ Metropolitan TC meeting on 26 May 2018. Driver M Perriton was fined $200 after using her whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Whip Regulations.
TEQUILA SUNSET - broke at the start. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages and was unable to be driven out with any vigour.
ONE YANKEE SON - broke with 1800 metres to run. Broke again with 300 metres to run. A final warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.

The start was delayed due to gear adjustments being required on GABBY'S STAR.
MYBOYLOLLIEPOP - jostled for a position on the first bend with LUCKY LUCIANO.
STOP MEANS STOP - over-raced through the middle stages. Driver R Frampton advised the sliding blinds were not activated due to the cord becoming entangled.
LUCKY LUCIANO - jostled for a position on the first bend with MYBOYLOLLIEPOP. Over-raced through the middle stages when racing in the parked position.
WESTAR SAM - over-raced through the early stages when being restrained. Driver C Wigg dropped her whip nearing the 400 metres.
MR MIDNIGHT - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier record.
EVERY OPTION - held up on the home turn.

POP THE BUBBLES - over-raced through the middle stages. Underwent a veterinary examination after returning to the assembly area with blood in the mouth with an assessment by a horse dentist recommended.
THREE PLY - driver M Anderson was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to have the filly on the track by the prescribed time.
MALEKA - weakened badly from the 800 metres. A post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the mare's racing performance.
ROCK ON - over-raced middle stages. Held up middle stages of the run home.
ROBYN'S GEM - broke in the score up and was well out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier record. Lay inwards under pressure in the back straight on the final occasion when tiring.

THE FOX - broke shortly after the start before settling and breaking again.
JERRY GARCIA - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start after racing at the NZ Metropolitan TC meeting on 26 May 2018.
TRICKY RASTUS - Trainers P Wakelin and S Noble were issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after the gelding was presented without the notified pacifier. Broke nearing the 2100 metres. Broke again nearing the 1500 metres and 1000 metres.
ONE YANKEE GINGA - driver R Holmes advised the deafeners were not activated due to the cord becoming entangled.
JEAN SEBASTIEN - trotted roughly throughout.
MY EYRE - held up for racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.

SLICK JOE - when questioned regarding the performance, driver D Dunn advised that given the colt's lack of experience he was not overly disappointed with the performance and was of the opinion the horse would derive benefit from today's outing.
SWEENEY TODD - checked racing into the first bend. Held up early stages of the run home.
AMIRA - broke racing into the first bend checking trailing runner.
FUN IT IS - held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight.
ZIPPIDY DOODAH - over-raced near the 600 metres. Hung inwards throughout the run home.
BRONX VILLAGE - broke at the start A warning was placed on the gelding's standing start manners. Locked wheels with SILENT SHADOW on the first bend and had to be steadied. Raced wide without cover through the middle stages.
BEEN TO JENNY'S - broke shortly after the start.
SILENT SHADOW - locked wheels with BRONX VILLAGE on the first bend and had to be steadied losing ground.
MOCKINGJAY - broke at the start.
GOTTA TICKET - raced wide early stages.

KENSINGTON KATE - slow through the early stages. Raced wide without cover through the middle stages.
ASTUTO - broke briefly at the start.
RED TERROR - broke briefly at the start.
OUT OF ACES - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start after racing at the NZ Metropolitan TC meeting on 26 May 2018.
Stewards investigated the correct starting position of RED TERROR which had inadvertently started from the outside of the front line instead of the inside of the second line.
Starter P Lamb stated that he was unaware there had been a late scratching on the front line and as such started RED TERROR from what he believed to be its rightful position. Upon further investigation it was established that Racing Manager Miss W Muldrew had failed to communicate the late scratching to Mr Lamb. After taking into account all factors including the run RED TERROR received during the running and its finishing position no further action was deemed necessary other to speak to Miss Muldrew advisedly. Miss Muldrew undertook to ensure measures are put in place so that there would not be a repeat in future.

WOT UP - trotted roughly in the score up and as a result was out of position at the start. Continued to trot roughly through the middle stages.
ALI LINDENNY - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start.
WESTAR MAGGIE - over-raced through the middle stages.
CRUSHER COLLINS - raced keenly early stages. Improved wide without cover through the middle stages.

OK I'M BAD - displayed poor barrier manners and tangled away. Held up final turn.
NOTA BENE DENARIO - over-raced throughout when leading. Weakened final stages.
HUNDIE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's standing start record. Raced keenly down the back straight on the final occasion. Held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
ROCKI WARRIOR - broke at the start losing ground.

VINNY GAMBINI - driver M Williamson advised that the left tyre had deflated with 1200 metres to run.
THE JANDEL MACHINE - weakened badly from the 800 metres. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance.
LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN - held up final bend.
JOHNNY WHITE - over-raced through the middle stages when racing in the parked position.
OMAR SHARIF - slightly out of position at the start.
DEBNITA ROSE - raced wide without cover from the 1100 metres.
DOWNTOWN TRAIN - the sliding blinds activated in the score up. Over-raced due to this in the early stages when being restrained to the rear. Weakened from the 600 metres.
HIS ROYAL HARNESS - raced keenly down the back straight on the last occasion when trailing a tiring runner.
REAL DASH - over-raced when being held up on the home turn.
STORM PRINCE - driver B Orange reported the deafeners were not able to be activated due to the cord breaking.
