Co-Trainer T Chmiel advised Stewards on 9 May that subsequent to its disappointing performance at Rangiora on 6 May PATANJALI has been sent for a spell.

The start was delayed when the gear on REDWOOD INVASION required adjustment.
TEHORO DAZZLE - over-raced in the middle stages. Held up early stages of the run home.
NATIVES LASTING LOVE - driver K Cameron reported his sulky received a punctured tyre near the 200 metres.
THEODOSIA - driver C Butt was spoken to regarding his use of the whip.
DIDJABRINGTHEBEERS - broke at the start. Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home. Raced roughly for a short distance near the 200 metres after making contact with the sulky wheel of NATIVES LASTING LOVE. Stewards questioned driver J Cox regarding this to which he advised that he had been presented with a run when TEHORO DAZZLE shifted outwards for a short distance however when that run closed and he attempted to restrain his gelding had not come back to him as quickly as he anticipated causing the contact. After reviewing the incident Stewards were satisfied Mr Cox had taken all preventative measures and the matter was taken no further.
SHOW GAIT - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Had to be restrained near the 150 metres when poorly positioned close to the sulky of the weakening NEVERNEVERLAND.
MOTU GREAT SENSATION - broke at the start losing all chance.
THE DOMINATOR - broke shortly after the start when attempting to avoid a breaking runner losing its chance.
RACHMANINOV - raced wide until near the 1800 metres when taken forward to race outside the leader. Again raced wide from the 900 metres. Driver T Grant was spoken to regarding his use of the whip.
LIGHT YEAR FRANCO - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
TIJUANA TAXI - slow over the early stages and then broke after 100 metres losing all chance.
NEVERNEVERLAND - began awkwardly. Over-raced once reaching the parked position near the 1100 metres.
JAW D NANCY - trotted roughly in the early stages and then broke shortly after the start losing its chance.

BETTOR BE GOLD - over-raced in the middle stages when being restrained.
MACH UP - raced roughly approaching the 100 metres.
SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE - presented without the notified pacifier. Care-taker trainer R Todd was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice.
AWESOME SPEED - broke shortly before the start losing its chance. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record.
OHANZEE - driver T Williams reported he did not activate the deafeners on the winner.

GAZZA GALLEON - broke in the score up losing considerable ground.
CHEERFUL - driver M Purdon was warned for allowing his filly to trail a sulky wheel for a short distance near the 800 metres.
GET LUCKY - had to be steadied near the 1400 metres when awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of CHEERFUL which momentarily shifted outwards. Veered outwards sharply at the 1200 metres before breaking and losing considerable ground.
DOFF YOUR CAP - out of position at the start. Held up early stages of the run home. Broke over the concluding stages.
ONE APOLLO - driver S McNally received a warning for allowing his whip to protrude outside the sulky confines.
SUNNYS LITTLE JESTIC - raced wide in the early stages. Removed from the unruly for mobile starts.
CARNEGIE HALL - broke leaving the 1600 metres.

NEARIS GREEN - when spoken to regarding the gelding's performance driver S McNally advised he was disappointed however could offer no explanation. Trainer J Hay reported the gelding had probably not backed up from a fast run race last week. A post-race veterinary examination showed a poor recovery.
VINNY GAMBINI - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Broke at the start losing ground.
EDITORIAL - over-raced middle stages.
HAYDEN'S MEDDLE - broke at the start. Held up middle stages of the run home.
TAKITIMU EXPRESS - broke at the start.
PIRATE BAY - veered inwards abruptly at the start and refused to move off on terms with the field losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
Subsequent to the performance of NEARIS GREEN in this race, Trainer J Hay advised Stewards the horse was suffering from muscle tie up the following day and will be freshened prior to resuming.

LAUGH AND CRY - began awkwardly and then made contact with an outside runner.
JUSTAMOLLYARCHER - broke at the start and was not able to be settled for a considerable distance being removed from the race by driver A Lethaby. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Mrs Lethaby advised they would add an earhood to the gelding's gear for its next start.
ONE OVER DOVER - broke shortly after the start. Again broke near the 1000 metres. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
VALMAGNE - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
BONNIE HIGHLANDER - hung inwards and made contact with track markers near the 400 metres breaking soon after. A warning was placed on the mare's racing record.
MEDUSA - slow to begin. Trotted roughly on the final bend.
IZMOK - inconvenienced on the final bend having to shift ground on two occasions away from breaking runners to obtain clear racing room. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
MIRACLE RISING - trotted roughly after 100 metres and then broke for a short distance losing ground.
VENETO - broke for a short distance at the start and after settling at the rear of the field switched to a pace and was retired from the event.
ALVIRA HEST - cleared from the unruly for standing starts.
ALL LIT UP - hampered in the early stages by a breaking runner.
SUNDONS WISH - broke under pressure near the 500 metres. Driver D Dunn reported the gelding to have trotted awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination showed sensitivity in the hocks and left hip region. Stewards will follow up with trainer I Jamieson in the coming days.
 
Race 6NEVELE R FILLIES SERIES NO. 40 FINAL (MOBILE PACE)Video  Video 
BETTOR JOY - when questioned regarding the run of his filly, driver D Dunn explained that he had worked hard in the early stages to gain the lead. He added that between the 1600 metres and the 1400 metres he had again pressured his filly to increase the speed of the race to deter any potential challenges to his lead from the improving three wide horses. Mr Dunn said that his filly had not been suited to having a horse race outside it from the 1100 metres but notwithstanding this felt she was entitled to finish the race off in a more competitive manner than what she had.
DIBABA - driver T Chmiel reported the outside hopple shortener had failed to release when the cord had become entangled in the connecting strap.
ELLE MAC - raced wide in the early stages.
LADY CHATTO - broke near the 1700 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the filly's racing record.
BETTOR TRIX - over-raced in the early stages.
DIZZY MISS LIZZY - when questioned regarding the performance, driver B Orange could only advise he had been disappointed with the filly's efforts. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities.
SAMSKARA - held up throughout the run home.
LILAC STAR - back on the second row at the start despite the efforts of driver C Markham.
DELIGHT IN ME - raced wide in the early stages. When questioned regarding the manner he drove in the middle stages driver T Williams explained that he was mindful of the work his filly had done in the early stages and so when reaching the parked position near the 1200 metres had allowed his runner some respite. Mr Williams added that despite racing on level terms with the leader he was aware of the moderate sectionals being run and so felt no need to restrain. Mr Williams said that his filly raced best when on the speed and he had been confident of a forwards showing prior to the race as he felt she had progressively improved throughout the season. After considering his submissions the matter was taken no further.

The start was delayed when TUAPEKA TRICK required the attention of the farrier.
EXTREME STRIDE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Over-raced in the middle stages. The all clear was delayed until it was confirmed the gelding had not breached the Breaking Horse Regulations.
PARAVANI - lay inwards under pressure near the 100 metres having to be steadied for a short distance.
RAH DE RAH - over-raced in the middle stages.
THE DIRECTOR - broke after 100 metres. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
SCOTLYNN JUSTIS - hung in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Had to be steadied after 200 metres when awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of THE DIRECTOR.
MIGHTY AMERICAN - inconvenienced shortly after the start by a breaking runner.
DYNAMO - raced roughly and shifted outwards after 200 metres forcing SCOTLYNN JUSTIS wider.
