Race Comments
Race 1JUST ESSENCE CATERING HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video
A false start was declared when the barrier became entangled in the legs of GREY POWER.
GREY POWER - broke passing the 200 metres. Locked wheels with HEARD THE WHISPER shortly after. A warning was placed on the geldings racing record.
TROUBLE GIERO - broke with 70 metres remaining and continued through to the finishing line. Disqualified by the JCA.
HEARD THE WHISPER - raced keenly in the middle stages. Began to race fiercely approaching the 1000 metres causing Junior Driver G Crawford some difficulty. Stewards questioned G Crawford regarding the manner she drove near the 400 metres when not shifting outwards to improve despite being in a position to do so. Ms Crawford explained that her runner had failed to trot the duration of a race for some time now and was wary of making any sudden shift outwards to force GREY POWER wider in case it unbalanced her runner. Ms Crawford further added that her runner was travelling so keenly due to striking the wheel discs throughout, that she was not satisfied she could complete the manoeuvre with the required amount of safety and so maintained her position. After considering her explanation Stewards took the matter no further than to speak with Ms Crawford advisedly. Locked wheels with the galloping GREY POWER passing the 200 metres losing ground.
