BUSTER BRADY - raced wide in the early stages. Stewards questioned driver B Orange regarding the manner in which he drove from the 700 metres. Of particular concern to Stewards was Mr Orange's actions of shifting his drive outwards from the marker line at this stage. Mr Orange explained that the gelding wears two boring poles and has a tendency to hang outwards in the straights and inwards on the bends and for this reason he elected to allow the gelding to shift wider. This he explained was in an attempt to allow the gelding to race truly rounding the final bend. Mr Orange further added on this occasion the gelding continued to hang outwards for some distance rounding the final bend therefore racing wider. Stewards noted Mr Orange's comments. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to detect any obvious abnormalities.
