DREAM BIG - the boot on the near hind shifted during the running. Driver B Orange advised that the gelding had received every opportunity.
WHATABOYZ - Driver Z Butcher advised that he pulled a flat sulky tyre over the final stages after it punctured during the running.
 
Race 2LARNOCH STUD MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
WYNBERG JEWEL - over-raced early and middle stages before shifting out to race without cover. Inclined to lay in for the remainder of the event and in particular when under pressure in the run home.
FOXY SISTER - weakened final turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality and Trainer P Fleming advised that the filly would be turned out for a spell.
WYNBERG DELIGHT - Driver P Butcher was cautioned and reminded to maintain his position at the candy pole prior to the start.
THE KAPITI EXPRESS - broke in the early stages of the score up and was a length out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners.
 
Race 3CONNIE STEWART - BAYLEYS WAIRARAPA MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
DRIZELLA - broke entering the first turn losing considerable ground. Caught the field at the 1700 metres and proceeded to over-race. Tired from the 500 metres. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners.
VELOCETTE - held up rounding the final bend.

MASTER OF ESCAPE - raced one out without cover outside the leader for the majority of the race and weakened inside the final 400 metres.
AMARO - paced roughly over the early stages before breaking near the 1800 metres inconveniencing a trailing runner, losing ground before settling. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
THE HAWKE - inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 1800 metres and when shifting ground broke, failed to settle and was pulled up. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.

The start was delayed by one minute at the request of TAB control.
MAGICAL MOE - led then tired inside the 350 metres.
HANNAH EXTREME - inconvenienced for several strides when improving off the back of the tiring leader approaching the 300 metres. It was noted that the offside sliding blind failed to activate.
JETENARA - raced three wide from the 1100 metres before reaching a position outside the leader passing the 500 metres.
SCHERGER CHIEF - weakened home turn.

RANGI RANGDU - weakened final turn.
AZZA - inclined to lay out in the middle stages of the race giving Driver S Phelan some difficulty.
FOUR STARZZZ LEGEND - Caretaker Trainer G Martin was issued with a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100.00 for presenting the gelding with an incorrect saddlecloth number.
ALLY MAE - weakened final turn.
 
Race 8KURIPUNI SPORTS BAR MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
PORT DELIGHT - raced towards the rear then shifted out to race three wide without cover near the 600 metres and was taken wide on the final turn but was unable to make up much ground in the run home to finish in seventh place beaten 4.1 lengths.
SAUCHIEHALL - broke late in the score up losing several lengths before settling. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners. Paced roughly near the 1100 metres. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight. Junior Driver B Laughton reported that the ear plugs failed to release when he activated the deafener hood.
LYNTON CREEK - Trainer/Driver D Butcher reported that the near fore hopple carrier broke during the running resulting in the hopple loop dropping and placing him at a considerable disadvantage. This gear was inspected and found to be in good order with Mr Butcher deemed not to be at fault.
