Trainer B Mowbray advised Stewards on 26 April that blood tests taken from TIGER THOMPSON showed no major abnormalities. The gelding will be set for a resumption in mid May in preparation for the Harness Jewels.

BETTOR BACKIM - inconvenienced on the final bend by weakening runners.
EARTHQUAKE - late scratching at 10.30am on veterinary advice.
LIVING LEGEND - weakened passing the 500 metres.
CLAUS - raced wide in the early stages. Hung inwards racing into the first bend.
GOING TO CALIFORNIA - raced wide in the early stages. Stewards questioned driver B Wilmott regarding the manner he drove through the straight on the final occasion. Mr Wilmott reported the mare had lay outwards each time he had attempted to shift her to the inside of the leading PAT CAMPBELL causing him difficulty in driving the mare out with vigour. Mr Wilmott added that he would be recommending gear changes prior to the mare resuming.
QUEEN OF GLORY - raced wide in the early and middle stages. Driver C Wigg reported that she was unable to activate the removable gear due to the cord becoming entangled. Ms Wigg further advised the near side hopple shortener had failed to activate due to becoming entangled.
AVEROSS BRACHOLE - raced wide from the 1400 metres. Weakened from the 400 metres.
PAT CAMPBELL - raced wide in the early and middle stages.

MARIANNA BROMAC - broke soon after the start losing ground.
DEMETER - hung outwards in the home straight.
MUCH BETTOR - when spoken to regarding the performance, driver and co-trainer N Rasmussen explained that the gelding had paced roughly rounding the final bend and had been disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
DIEGO - Driver J Cox reported that the gelding had hung inwards in the home straight and he was unable to fully drive the horse out as a result.
ULTIMATE ME - had to be steadied late in the run home.
THE CRIMSON PRINCE - back slightly at the start after hanging outwards in the score up and racing greenly. Continued to race greenly in the middle stages. Hung inwards in the early stages of the run home.

BICTON - the required veterinary clearance was received. Held up by weakening runners on the final bend.
PETE'S DASH - held up for clear racing room near the 250 metres.
FRANCO GARCIA - weakened leaving the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver C Thornley explained the horse had been forced to work harder than he anticipated to take up and then hold a forward position which had been to his detriment over the final stages.
IT'S A DEAL - Trainer/driver R Cameron reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
AVEROSS SPITFIRE - paced roughly in the score up. When questioned regarding the performance, trainer A Faulks advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation.
DOWNTOWN TRAIN - hung and raced keenly in the score up causing driver D Dunn considerable difficulty. Raced erratically when being restrained in the early stages.
 
Race 4MAGPIE BUS CHARTERS MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
BOBBY T - hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the first bend. Broke near the 1100 metres. Again paced roughly between the 1000 metres and the 900 metres losing some ground in consequence. Hung inwards final bend. When questioned regarding the performance, trainer/driver R Cameron advised that the gelding would be spelled in preparation for grass track racing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a cut inner cheek and it was recommended the horse be treated by the dentist.
DYNAMO - raced roughly near the 1400 metres when racing in the open causing an easing of the pace. Weakened final bend.
GET THE RHYTHM - broke after 150 metres losing ground and settling at the rear of the field. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
TAKITIMU EXPRESS - over-raced middle stages.
MONGOLIAN MARS - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver R May. Hampered near the 900 metres. Hung inwards final bend.
GETARATTLEON - had to be steadied near the 800 metres when becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of MONGOLIAN MARS.

TRAILER PARK GIRL - gave ground near the 450 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance trainer S Dolan advised that the mare had failed to handle the step up in class tonight.
HIGHLAND REIGN - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
KIWI ON SHOW - Junior driver O Thornley, assisted by R Holmes, was shown a replay and spoken to advisedly regarding the manner she drove between the 1300 metres and the 1100 metres when challenging for the lead.
MOSSDALE ROSE - Junior driver B Hope, assisted by S Ottley, admitted using his whip excessively inside the final 400 metres and after hearing submissions on penalty the JCA suspended his licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 13 May 2018 (3 days).
DELIGHTFUL DASH - over-raced in the middle stages.
SHEZZA GNP - held up final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
MACHJAGGER - Trainer P Ellis was charged a $25 colour fee.
 
Race 6MORRISON'S SADDLERY & FEED MOBILE TROTVideo  Video 
ORLANDO MAGIC - checked and broke racing into the first turn losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend.
MOY - shifted inwards on the first bend when not sufficiently clear of ORLANDO MAGIC which contacted a wheel and broke. Driver I Schwamm admitted driving carelessly in this incident and after submissions on penalty the JCA suspended Mr Schwamm's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 5 July 2018 (10 weeks). Trotted roughly under pressure on the final bend.
THIS WAY COMES - broke prior to the start losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
ABOUT LAST NIGHT - trotted roughly in the home straight.
MAGASTEY - late scratching at the start on veterinary advice due to lameness. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
WELL DEFINED - raced wide early stages.
CHRISTMAS BABE - over-raced middle stages.
ONE APOLLO - broke in the early stages losing considerable ground. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until it could be confirmed the gelding did not breach the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages.
RED HARBOUR - raced wide early stages.

BETTER DECISION - shifted outwards under pressure through the final straight. Driver B Orange was issued with a warning to ensure he maintains a straight course in the run home.
YANKEE DIVA - raced keenly and got its head up through the middle stages.
PEACE TRAIN - raced wide from the 900 metres. Weakened on the final bend.
POP THE BUBBLES - briefly held up behind a tiring runner rounding the final bend.
EASTWOOD IDEAL - hung inwards on the bend near the 1000 metres then raced roughly for a short distance when awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of POP THE BUBBLES resulting in the gelding losing some ground. Forced outwards over the final stages. The all clear was withheld until Stewards had spoken with driver C Thornley who viewed the films and advised this had not impacted on his ability to beat BETTER DECISION.
BHAKTI - out of position at the start. Driver J Kennett was issued with a warning.
NIGHT LIGHTS - held up for clear racing room rounding the final bend.
 
Race 8IAN WALKER HOME STRETCH TROTVideo  Video 
ELVIS P - fractious behind the barrier then stood on the mark as the field was released losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Gave ground passing the 600 metres.
SEA ROVER - hung inwards near the 500 metres crowding an inside runner.
HEAVENLY LOVE - held up behind a tiring runner passing the 600 metres. Placed in restricted room near the 500 metres and had to be steadied.
ALPINE SUN - trotted roughly at various stages of the running when positioned in the open. Weakened near the 600 metres.
THE FOX - hampered in the early stages by a breaking runner.
ALI LINDENNY - over-raced when being restrained to take a trail through the back straight on the first occasion. Continued to race keenly in the middle stages.
DON'T LOOK BACK - broke in the early stages losing all chance.
BREAKING BAD - raced wide early stages.
MISS MOPPET - raced wide early stages.

CULLENMORE - hung inwards on the first bend.
SHARDAN SUZIE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight. Driver C McDowell was warned for the manner he shifted ground in the home straight crowding outside runners. Came together with STONEBRIDGE CULLEN late in the run home.
EMIRA - hung inwards racing into the first bend. Crowded for racing room near the 100 metres and had to be steadied.
STONEBRIDGE CULLEN - held up on the final bend and then had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight. Crowded for racing room near the 100 metres. Placed in restricted room late in the run home. Stewards questioned driver S Anderson regarding his decision not to shift outwards onto the back of EMIRA near the 400 metres resulting in him being held up behind a tiring runner. Mr Anderson explained that the horse was fresh up from a spell and he was reluctant to shift wider as the mare only possesses a short sprint. Mr Anderson further added that the horse had peaked on its run over the concluding stages and felt his decision had not affected his chances. After considering Mr Anderson's explanation, Stewards deemed that Mr Anderson had erred in his decision making however were satisfied that his explanation was reasonable in the circumstances. Accordingly no further action was taken than to caution him for his lack of judgement.
SKIPPERLAND - shifted outwards marginally over the concluding stages.
IREBY MEG - raced wide early stages. Weakened final bend.
AWAYOVERNIGHT - lay inwards in the home straight.
JAY FM - Trainer A Stuart was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after JAY FM was presented without the notified sliding blinds.
OPAWA MACH - held up for clear racing room leaving the final bend.

CHIVASION - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend.
ONE NIGHT OUT - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Weakened final bend.
JEAN SEBASTIEN - trotted roughly on the first bend and broke for a short distance near the 2100 metres. Continued to trot roughly throughout. Stewards delayed the all clear until they had reviewed the gelding's gait through the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
LIGHTWORKOFIT - fractious behind the barriers rearing on several occasions. When questioned regarding the gelding's improved performance, Trainer D Burrows advised the horse had received an economical run throughout and had relaxed well in front.
