Race 9 - MAINLAND WOOL HANDICAP TROT
Trainer G Smith advised Stewards that blood tests taken from RED HOT ROCKET confirmed that the gelding was suffering from a virus which has affected a number of horses in his stable. Mr Smith added that RED HOT ROCKET will now have a brief spell while recovering.

Junior driver B Munro admitted a breach of Rule 507(1) in that he broke a driving engagement to drive BULLYS PRINCESS. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $200.

HEISENBERG - over-raced through the middle stages. Driver G Smith was cautioned to ensure his whip remains inside the confines of the sulky.
A BETTOR ACT - over-raced in the early stages.
ANOTHER MASTERPIECE - driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners on the winner.

BURNING RUBBER - hung inwards throughout the running.
GET THE RHYTHM - weakened from the 1700 metres and was retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the gelding's performance.
MYBOYLOLLIEPOP - over-raced through the early stages when being restrained.
MACH UP - raced wide without cover through the early and middle stages. Paced roughly near the 150 metres.
DREAMY DAMIEN - hung inwards negotiating the first bend and as a result struck track markers.
DENSTOWN - raced wide early stages. Shifted up the track exiting the final bend and through the run home. Driver J Cox was advised that a better effort to maintain a straight course at this stage of the race would be expected in future.
FOR THE CORZ - over-raced down the back straight on the final occasion.
APOCALYPSE - out of position at the start. Driver J Geddes was cautioned to ensure he comes up and maintains his position in future.

GAME CHANGER - broke at the start.
AWAYTOCULLECT - held up final bend.
MOGUL - broke at the start.
VERA'S DELIGHT - began awkwardly.
TAKE AFTER ME - held up early stages of the run home and skied its head on several occasions in the home straight.
ASTUTO - raced wide early stages. Held up in the middle stages of the run home.
KENSINGTON KATE - raced wide early stages.
OK I'M BAD - improved wide without cover through the middle stages.
SWEET MARYLOU - raced wide without cover in the middle stages. Hung inwards in the back straight on the final occasion and weakened from the 600 metres.
MR KALYPSO - when questioned regarding the performance, driver T Williams advised given it was the horse's second run back from a lengthy spell and the fact he was obliged to do work during the running, he was not overly disappointed.

FLYINOVA - broke racing into the first bend.
ALPINE SUN - trotted roughly rounding the final bend.
STELLAR SUCCESS - Driver G O'Reilly reported he dropped his whip nearing the 100 metres.
SPURRED BY SUCCESS - Driver J Curtin was questioned regarding his apparent lack of vigour over the final stages. Mr Curtin advised the gelding was trotting roughly throughout the run home and he was mindful of the fact the horse had broken at its previous start and felt the gelding was doing its best work at this stage of the race. Stewards accepted the comments of Mr Curtin.
DON'T LOOK BACK - over-raced through the middle stages when racing in the parked position.
ELVIS P - broke in the early stages.
TEHORO TEASE - hung inwards through the running. Gave ground final bend when proving difficult to steer. Driver R Holmes advised the mare had locked on one rein during the running and as a result he was unable to activate the removable deafeners.
THE FOX - slow to begin. Trotted roughly at various stages during the running.
TRICKY RASTUS - broke near the 2050 metres. Broke again with 1100 metres to run.

DE LANCOME - over-raced through the middle stages.
LADY CHATTO - shifted outwards near the 1400 metres checking LILAC STAR. Driver K Butt, assisted by senior horseman J Cox, admitted driving carelessly at this stage of the race with the JCA suspending her Junior Horsewoman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 22 April 2018 up to and including 4 May 2018 (3 days).
LILAC STAR - broke with 1400 metres to run when contacted from the inside by LADY CHATTO losing considerable ground.
DIZZY MISS LIZZY - held up on the final bend. Hung inwards through the early stages of the run home.

FOREIGNER - tangled away before switching into a pace and having to be restrained by driver G Hunt. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
FUTURE QUEEN - broke after 100 metres.
TEQUILA SUNSET - broke at the start.
KIITOS - shifted outwards abruptly as the start was effected and then broke after 100 metres.
LOVEY DOVEY MOMENT - broke shortly after the start.
ONE YANKEE SON - broke in the early stages. Over-raced through the middle stages. Broke near the 350 metres.
WITH ICE - broke in the early stages. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages.
MAGASTEY - trotted roughly in the early stages before breaking and was unable to be restrained for some distance by driver K Butt. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
FLYING MONKEY - broke near the 2000 metres. Inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 200 metres.
ALDEBARAN BONNY - broke at the start. Broke again near the 350 metres.
WAIT FOR SUCCESS - inconvenienced shortly after the start.
PEGGY NOVA - inconvenienced shortly after the start.
ABOUT LAST NIGHT - displayed poor barrier manners and was reluctant to move away with the field. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
WELL DEFINED - raced keenly through the middle stages. Inconvenienced by a breaking runner exiting the final bend before breaking when looking for racing room.
RED HARBOUR - broke rounding the first bend.

BELLA VELOCE - held up early stages of the run home.
MAJORCA - over-raced throughout and weakened over the concluding stages.
OHANZEE - paced roughly in the early stages having to be restrained. Driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners on the winner.

WESTAR MAGGIE - Trainers G & N Hope, represented by B Hope, were issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after a hind bandage pad came adrift during the running.
GALLEONS GLORY - weakened final bend.
MYSTICAL STAR - hung inwards when improving from the 600 metres. Shifted down the track over the concluding stages. Driver B Laughton was shown the films and cautioned to ensure he maintains a straight course in the run home in future.
BK DAWN - weakened final bend.
LIGHT YEAR FRANCO - lost ground on the field briefly near the 1400 metres. Broke approaching the 450 metres losing its chance.
LIGHTWORKOFIT - late scratching at 8.30am on Veterinary advice.
ZOEY'S GIFT - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. Broke again briefly near the 1000 metres. Trotted roughly for the remainder of the race.

WESTBURN YIELD - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
DYNAMITE PAUL - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Trainer M Edmonds advised the gelding will be restricted to mobile starts in the immediate future.
LITTLE RAIN - held up rounding the final bend.
CHAIN REACTION - half carted for a period from the 2000 metres. Driver T McMillan was cautioned to ensure he trails with his horse's head behind the horse being trailed in future.
PETE'S DASH - one earplug activated prematurely prior to the start. Broke at the start. Weakened from the 600 metres.
 
Race 10PEEK EXHIBITION MOBILE PACEVideo  Video 
The start was delayed when HIS ROYAL HARNESS required a sulky change.
JUST ONE GOOD ONE - hung inwards through the middle stages.
LIVING LEGEND - over-raced in the parked position throughout. Weakened from the 500 metres. Junior driver S O'Reilly advised the gelding had been striking the sulky wheels causing it to over-race.
SCOOB OPERATOR - placed in restricted room on the home turn when avoiding a tiring runner. Awkwardly placed to the outside of SHARDAN SUZIE near the 70 metres having to steady.
AVEROSS BRACHOLE - raced three wide without cover throughout. Weakened considerably from the 600 metres.
SHARDAN SUZIE - held up through the middle stages of the run home. Driver K Cameron was cautioned for the manner he shifted ground near the 70 metres.
BLINGITON - raced keenly in the middle stages.
CLASSIE MARGARET - inconvenienced rounding the final bend.
