Race 5 - NATURAL HABITATS HANDICAP TROT
Co-Trainer John Dickie advised Stewards on 19 April that C K SPUR was found to be suffering from back pain following its disappointing performance last week at Alexandra Park with chiropractic work being carried out on the gelding. Mr Dickie added that C K SPUR will most likely resume at Auckland on Friday 27 April.

RED CASTLETON - broke for several strides at the start.
FORGET THE PRICE TAG - broke approaching the 300 metres losing its chance. When questioned regarding this Trainer/Driver T Herlihy explained the gelding had struggled with its gait on the bends and that it was his intention to have a veterinary inspection in the coming days and he undertook to advise Stewards of anything which may become apparent.
AORAKI - held up for a short distance passing the 200 metres.
MAJESTIC ONE - raced three wide early and middle stages.
PUMA ROAD - Driver S Reid was fined $200 for using his whip more than the permitted amount.
ALTA VENETIA - began awkwardly.

DOUBLE O HEAVEN - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room over the early stages of the run home. Driver R May reported he did not activate the filly's deafeners due to her becoming unbalanced through the final straight. Trainer S Reid was fined $100 for failing to affix a hopple carrier so as not to come adrift.
GOLD ORCHID - lay inwards through the final straight.
AMERICAN EMPRESS - when questioned regarding the mare's performance Driver S Abernethy explained that this was the mare's first race for six weeks but had trialled well leading into the event. He further stated that AMERICAN EMPRESS had performed best when the tempo had been solid throughout and that tonight's race had not been run to suit with the slow middle sectionals.

MUSCULUS - pre-race warmed.
GALLEONS VICTORY - cleared from the unruly for standing starts. Broke approaching the 600 metres. Stewards questioned Driver T Herlihy and T Mitchell (MASSIVE METRO). After considering their submissions Stewards deemed that Mr Herlihy had driven carelessly at this time and that he attempted to maintain a position to which he was not entitled. After considering the evidence the charge was dismissed.
MAJESTIC ALI - raced three wide early before being restrained to the rear. Broke inside the 400 metres losing its chance.
GEENA'S SUCCESS - cleared from the unruly for standing starts.
PRINCESS MACKENDON - sustained a broken boring pole in the early stages which consequently hung loose during the running.
SUNSET PEAK - when questioned regarding the mare's performance Trainer/Driver D Butcher explained this horse had been forced to work too hard from its 30 metre handicap.
 
Race 4WOODLANDS STUD CADUCEUS CLUB 2YO FILLIES CLASSIC (MOB PACE)Video  Video 
PRINCESS TIFFANY - sustained a puncture wound to its hoof during the running requiring post race treatment. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
ONE KOOL KAT - tired from the 400 metres. A post race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. Co-Trainer D McGowan advised it was his intention to have a veterinary check in the upcoming days and notify Stewards if anything became apparent.
RUBY ROSE - lay in late in the score up and was back from position at dispatch. Raced three wide from the 1000 metres, lay in near the 900 metres.
LAST WALTZ - broke passing the 800 metres checking a trailing runner. Driver J Dunn advised the horse had attempted to shift inwards after being moved wider on the track.
GOLD ROCKS - broke in the initial stages of the score up but was in position prior to dispatch. Broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on this filly's mobile barrier manners. Checked by galloping runner passing the 800 metres.

VALLORIA - trotted roughly for several strides rounding the final bend.
STRESS FACTOR - trotted roughly under pressure in the final stages.
SUNDEES SON - broke entering the first turn losing considerable ground.
RENEZMAE - trotted roughly and lost ground on the final bend.
SEQUOIA - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Tired from the 500 metres.
MAJESTIC HURRICANE - back several lengths from the unruly position at dispatch.

ENGHIEN - carried wider passing the 700 metres.
LEMOND - obtained an inside run passing the 700 metres.
ONE OVER DA MOON - broke at the start and galloped a considerable distance before settling. A warning was placed on the entire's barrier record.
BORDEAUX - lay out approaching the 700 metres when leading which enabled the trailing runner to improve to its inside. Driver D Dunn advised the horse had lay outwards in each of the straights causing him some difficulty. A post race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with trainer P Iggo in the coming days.
TEMPORALE - raced wide in the early stages.
DESTINY JONES - held up on the final bend.
SPEEDING SPUR - raced four wide from the 400 metres.

RAUKAPUKA RULER - raced three wide for the first 700 metres.
STAR GALLERIA - inconvenienced early stages of the score up by CHECK IN.
CHECK IN - driver D Butcher was issued a warning for occupying the incorrect barrier position in the early stages of the score up.

FLEETING GRIN - lay inwards on the bend near the 1300 metres and contacted track markers. Held up by a weakening runner on the final bend and had to be restrained when placed in restricted room near the 250 metres. Treated for a laceration to the near fore pastern with a Veterinary clearance required prior to resuming.
BAILEYS KNIGHT - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
SOLID GOLD - broke at the start.
MY GENERATION - weakened rapidly on the final bend hampering trailing runners.
JUICE BROGDEN - Driver N Chilcott was spoken to regarding the manner in which she shifted ground on the final bend in causing some tightening to an outside runner. Had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the final straight.
CLASSIE AMERICAN - shifted inwards and made contact with several track markers on the final bend. Stewards will speak with Driver D Ferguson in the coming days.
STEP UP - over-raced middle stages. Inconvenienced on the final bend causing Driver B Butcher to become unbalanced in the sulky.
NORTHVIEW HUSTLER - broke at the start.

BOPPER JET - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on this gelding's mobile barrier manners.
ROBB STARK - over-raced in the middle stages when positioned outside the leader before improving to lead passing the 1000 metres.
