DOLLY JONES - broke entering the first turn and then again rounding the turn before switching to a pace losing all chance.

ABOVE THE REST - broke shortly after the start and trailed the field throughout.
BET'S COMMANDO - broke near the 2100 metres losing ground. Broke near the 1700 metres and trailed the field. A warning was placed on this mare's racing manners.

MOTU BELLE DU JOUR - lay out after the start inconveniencing an outside runner. Broke entering the first turn checking trailing runners. Weakened final turn. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners record.
VELOCETTE - inconvenienced shortly after the start and checked entering the first turn.
LADY LIBERTY - gave ground from the 300 metres.
UNCLE DREW - checked entering the first turn. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
TOPPATHEROCK - broke near the 1600 metres checking a trailing runner. Held up early final turn. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.

SUNNY BILL - badly hampered by a tiring runner near the 600 metres.
ANGUS FOGG - broke briefly approaching the first turn. Broke again near the 2200 metres losing all chance and was retired from the event. The gelding was stood down until it trials satisfactorily.
FRANCO NADAL - commenced to tire from the 600 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
DREAM BIG - worked forward to lead near the 2000 metres but was run down into seventh place beaten 10.6 lengths. When questioned regarding the performance Driver B Orange stated that the gelding had not backed up from it's first day performance.
DESTINY JONES - unable to make up it's 80 metre handicap and trailed the field throughout.

STRAWBERRY MOOSE - broke in the early stages of the score up but filled it's position prior to dispatch. Tired badly from the 900 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Trainer K Goss advised the gelding is to be spelled.
CAITLIN FRANCO - broke late in the score up and caused a false start after checking second row runners. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners. Driver A Poutama elected to maintain his barrier position for the re-start. Lay in and paced roughly entering the first turn. Raced three wide early and middle stages. Broke passing the 700 metres losing all chance.
MORDECAI - broke approaching the 250 metres when disappointed for a run to the inside of JETENARA and lost all chance.
CERBERUS - over-raced middle stages.
JETENARA - lay in passing the 800 metres when attempting to improve three wide.
GREY SKIES - raced three wide with cover from the 1000 metres.
MANIHIKI PEARL - over raced early stages. Raced three wide from the 1200 metres.

TWITTER BROMAC - shuffled back middle stages before attempting to improve near the 400 metres but failed to run on to finish in tenth place beaten 17 lengths. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. When questioned regarding the performance Driver B Orange stated that the mare failed to see out the distance of tonight's event.
CAPTAIN KIRK - contested for a position on the back of LIS RULZ for some distance racing down the back the final time.
ATOM HANOVER - had to be restrained off the back of MOLLY SIMS passing the 800 metres due to an easing of the pace and locked sulky stays briefly with an outside runner.
GOTTA MOMENT - over-raced badly middle stages.
DELIGHTFUL KAS - broke in the initial stages of the score up and was back from position by several lengths at dispatch. A warning was placed on this filly's mobile barrier manners. Over-raced briefly middle stages. Raced three wide with cover from the 1000 metres. Briefly inconvenienced when locking sulky stays passing the 800 metres.
LIS RULZ - over-raced middle stages. Raced three wide from the 1200 metres.
MOLLY SIMS - resisted an outward movement of an inside runner for some distance racing down the back straight the final time when racing three wide on the back of LIS RULZ. Paced roughly in the run home.

C A PENNY - tended to lay in early and middle stages. Raced three wide from the 1000 metres but was under pressure leaving the back straight and lay in badly losing ground before finishing in ninth place beaten 11 lengths. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Driver J Curtin advised that the mare hung badly on the bends and that he would be recommending gear changes to the Trainer.
BLACK CHEVRON - a length out of position at the start. Driver J Abernethy was cautioned in relation to maintaining his position until dispatch in the future.

The start was delayed by several minutes due to the sulky on TENNYSON INLET needing replacement.
MASTER OF ESCAPE - over-raced middle stages when leading.
JACK BATES - checked passing the 100 metres.
FOUR STARZZZ LEGEND - over-raced briefly middle stages.
AMARO - broke under pressure approaching the 100 metres checking a trailing runner.

SAUCHIEHALL - tended to shift out under pressure in the run home. Driver B Orange advised that he had been unable to activate the deafeners due to the release cord becoming entangled.
AZZA - raced three wide from the 1000 metres.
WAINGARO MARA - caught three wide throughout.
NERVE OF STEEL - back a length at the start. Driver D Butcher was cautioned in relation to maintaining his position until dispatch. Raced three wide from the 1000 metres.
THE HAWKE - back several lengths from the unruly position throughout the score up. Raced fiercely middle stages when three wide with cover. Raced four wide from the 1100 metres before laying in passing the 800 metres and then weakened over the final stages.

SWEET MAGGIE RYAN - When questioned regarding the improved performance the connections advised that the mare had galloped on the first day at Hawera and then enjoyed little luck on the second day when caught wide during the middle stages and had worked well leading into tonight's event.
DELIA MAY - back from position at the start. Driver S Abernethy was cautioned in relation to maintaining his position until dispatch.
JOEY MAGUIRE - paced roughly entering and rounding the first turn.
DYNAMO - broke under pressure late in the run home. A protest was lodged against the gelding's second placing under Rule 870(5) on the grounds that it was lapped on by the third placed FRANCO EMPIRE. The protest was not contested and DYNAMO was relegated to third place.
RACKETEERS BOY - held up rounding the final bend.
