Race 5 - CANTERBURY STANDARDBRED BREEDERS STAKES (MOBILE)
Trainer R Higgins advised Stewards on 3 April that ROCKNROLL NEVIN will have the tongue tie removed and a change of bit for its next engagement with Mr Higgins adding that it will be his intention to have the mare driven in a more conservative manner.
Race 10 - FERNLAW - GARRY THOMPSON SOLICITOR MOBILE PACE
Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 4 April that BETTOR BE GOLD has shown no ill-effects from its run at Addington last Friday and has worked well in preparation for its engagement at that venue this weekend where blinds will be added to its gear.
Race 11 - CHRISTCHURCH CASINO MOBILE PACE
Stewards have concluded their investigation into the driving tactics of N McGrath (Star Commander). After making further inquiries and considering the explanation of Mr McGrath Stewards took the matter no further other than to advise Mr McGrath that it was expected he drive in a more competitive and controlled manner at all times in future.

BETTOR AIM - raced roughly soon after the start then had to be steadied for several strides.
OHANZEE - lay outwards on the final bend.
MACHSGAIN - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver K Cox. Lay inwards in the run home.
SEMIRAMIDE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver T Williams. Held up near the 350 metres and late in the run home.
Trainer G Smith advised Stewards on 10 April that BRONX VILLAGE has been diagnosed with a virus following blood tests and is being treated accordingly.

MUSCULUS - pre-race warmed. Broke at the start.
ZOEY'S GIFT - trotted roughly and was slow in the early stages.
KINGDOM COME - tired from the 400 metres.
TIJUANA TAXI - broke after 100 metres.
BONNIE HIGHLANDER - checked and broke with 900 metres to run.
ARNOLD - broke after 150 metres.
LE LIEVRE'S GIFT - Driver J Curtin reported he did not activate the mare's deafeners.
MONKEY'S WAY - shifted inwards near the 900 metres to the parked position but in doing so made contact with BONNIE HIGHLANDER which broke. Driver R Close defended a careless driving charge however the breach was found proved and Mr Close's Horseman's Licence was suspended by the JCA from the conclusion of racing on 8 April up to and including 19 April 2018 (3 days).
WAR MACHINE - raced wide in the early stages until near the 1800 metres. Trotted roughly near the 300 metres.

ZINNY MACH - raced keenly middle stages.
JACK JONES(AUS) - broke late in the score up and galloped for a considerable distance. A warning was placed on the colt's barrier record. Has been gelded subsequent to this race.
TAXMAN - inconvenienced near the 1700 metres. Paced roughly near the 900 metres when attempting to improve three wide around the field. Raced greenly throughout the run home.
A BETTOR ACT - raced roughly passing the 150 metres having to be restrained and losing ground.
DADNDAVE - inconvenienced near the 1700 metres.
Co-Trainer M Purdon advised Stewards on 12 April that subsequent to its performance at Addington last Friday JACK JONES(AUS) is to be gelded and will be sent for a spell.

FRANCO TEXAS - held up rounding the final bend.
JOHNNY EYRE - over-raced when being restrained in the early stages.
 
Race 5INKWISE NEW ZEALAND TROTTING DERBY (MOBILE)Video  Video 
VALLORIA - had some difficulty maintaining its trailing position on the final bend. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance, driver J Dunn reported the horse to have over-raced throughout.
GIRLS ON FILM - broke late in the score up checking the trailing PARAMOUNT KING with a false start being declared. Driver J Dickie elected to remain in his barrier position for the re-start. Paced and then broke at the re-start losing its chance. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record.
SHOW GAIT - lay outwards on the bend near the 1100 metres. Held up on the final bend.
ZSA ZOE - had to be steadied near the 1450 metres when placed in restricted room.
SUNDEES SON - Driver G Smith was reprimanded for the manner in which he shifted ground near the 1500 metres which required ZSA ZOE to be steadied.
SPRINGBANK LACHIE - raced wide in the early stages and was restrained to the rear.
FORGET THE PRICE TAG - held up on the final bend.
PARAMOUNT KING - checked in the score up with a false start declared. Improved wide with cover from the 1800 metres. Weakened near the 300 metres. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance, driver Z Butcher could only advise he had been disappointed with its efforts. A post-race veterinary examination showed a poor recovery rate. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with the connections in the coming days.
WINTERFELL - raced wide from the 1800 metres and then without cover from the 1200 metres.
MAJESTIC HURRICANE - over-raced in the early and middle stages.
The connections of PARAMOUNT KING advised Stewards on 13 April that the gelding contracted a bug when in Christchurch last week with this contributing to its poor performance at Addington. They added that PARAMOUNT KING has now recovered and is back in work.

TIGER THOMPSON - late scratching on Veterinary advice at the start after having blood present in a nostril. Underwent an endoscopic examination with this confirming that the gelding was not a bleeder. Notwithstanding this, the connections were advised a veterinary clearance is required prior to resuming.
RAUKAPUKA RULER - over-raced when being restrained in the early stages.
MORE THE BETTER - out of position at the start. Driver M Purdon was issued with a warning.
 
Race 7FRED SHAW MEMORIAL NEW ZEALAND TROTTING CHAMPIONSHIP (MOB)Video  Video 
BENCHMARK - over-raced in the middle stages. Inconvenienced near the 400 metres. Trotted roughly throughout the run home then broke passing the 75 metres.
JEN JACCKA - broke near the 400 metres. A warning was placed on the mare's racing record.
ALDERBECK - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Williamson. Driver B Williamson was warned for raising his arm on two occasions near the 1350 metres which contributed to the breaking of SUNNY RUBY. Locked wheels near the 700 metres with DOCTOR BONES causing the mare to break and lose its chance.
MONTY PYTHON - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained.
HARRIET OF MOT - raced wide in the early stages. Broke near the 150 metres.
ENGHIEN - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Broke briefly and trotted roughly over the final stages. Authorisation of 2nd place being awarded was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages and in the run home.
ONE OVER DA MOON - inconvenienced near the 400 metres.
DOCTOR BONES - forced wide leaving the 800 metres. Shifted inwards near the 700 metres locking the sulky wheel of ALDERBECK with that runner breaking. Driver G Smith admitted driving carelessly in this incident and after submissions on penalty the JCA suspended his Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 8 April up to and including 19 April 2018 (4 days).
SUNNY RUBY - broke approaching the 1400 metres when awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of ALDERBECK. Driver S Ottley was warned for failing to sufficiently restrain her mare leading up to this incident.

DENSTOWN - held up round the final bend.
TITANIUM - over-raced when being restrained to trail near the 1500 metres.
TIMES STRIDE - a boring pole was added to the near side after the colt's preliminary. Held up round the final bend.

DUPLICATED - placed in restricted room in the early stages making contact with a track marker in consequence. Held up near the 600 metres.
CULPEKA - Driver B Mangos issued with a warning for the manner in which he drove in the early stages when restricting the racing room of DUPLICATED when attempting to cross to the front.
ALTA MAESTRO - commenced to weaken from the 600 metres.
BORN TO RUN - tired from the 700 metres.
SHERIFF - Trainer N McGrath was issued a $50 Minor Infringement Notice after being late to notify the colt would be racing without blinds.

SCARLETT BANNER - raced keenly middle stages. Held up round the final bend.
TURN IT UP - raced wide from the 1500 metres without cover.
HAYDEN'S MEDDLE - raced wide in the early stages.
PIRATE BAY - over-raced throughout.
Trainer G Smith advised Stewards on 10 April that SHEBANG and PEMBROOK'S PASSION have been diagnosed with a virus following blood tests and are being treated accordingly.
