Driver R Close defended a careless driving charge however the breach was found proved and Mr Close's Horseman's Licence was suspended by the JCA from the conclusion of racing on 8 April up to and including 19 April 2018 (3 days). | |

VALLORIA - had some difficulty maintaining its trailing position on the final bend. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance, driver J Dunn reported the horse to have over-raced throughout. | |
GIRLS ON FILM - broke late in the score up checking the trailing PARAMOUNT KING with a false start being declared. Driver J Dickie elected to remain in his barrier position for the re-start. Paced and then broke at the re-start losing its chance. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record. | |
SHOW GAIT - lay outwards on the bend near the 1100 metres. Held up on the final bend. | |
ZSA ZOE - had to be steadied near the 1450 metres when placed in restricted room. | |
SUNDEES SON - Driver G Smith was reprimanded for the manner in which he shifted ground near the 1500 metres which required ZSA ZOE to be steadied. | |

PARAMOUNT KING - checked in the score up with a false start declared. Improved wide with cover from the 1800 metres. Weakened near the 300 metres. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance, driver Z Butcher could only advise he had been disappointed with its efforts. A post-race veterinary examination showed a poor recovery rate. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with the connections in the coming days. | |

MAJESTIC HURRICANE - over-raced in the early and middle stages. | |
The connections of PARAMOUNT KING advised Stewards on 13 April that the gelding contracted a bug when in Christchurch last week with this contributing to its poor performance at Addington. They added that PARAMOUNT KING has now recovered and is back in work. | |

Underwent an endoscopic examination with this confirming that the gelding was not a bleeder. Notwithstanding this, the connections were advised a veterinary clearance is required prior to resuming. | |

Driver B Williamson was warned for raising his arm on two occasions near the 1350 metres which contributed to the breaking of SUNNY RUBY. Locked wheels near the 700 metres with DOCTOR BONES causing the mare to break and lose its chance. | |
MONTY PYTHON - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained. | |
HARRIET OF MOT - raced wide in the early stages. Broke near the 150 metres. | |
ENGHIEN - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Broke briefly and trotted roughly over the final stages. Authorisation of 2nd place being awarded was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages and in the run home. | |
