Race 1 - JUST ESSENCE CATERING TROT
Trainer C Butt advised Stewards on 5 April that EDESIA has recovered well in consequence of its performance at Wingatui on 26 March with Mr Butt being of the opinion that the mare did not handle the prevailing track conditions.

Race 4 - PICK 6 STARTS NOW MOBILE PACE
Co-Trainer G Knight advised Stewards on 4 April that ARMSTRONG has recovered well subsequent to its disappointing performance at Forbury Park last week adding that in his opinion the race was not run to suit the gelding. Mr Knight further stated that ARMSTRONG has worked well this week and he expects a much improved performance on Thursday.

NOTTA SUCCESS - broke at the start and failed to settle for a considerable distance. Broke again near the 400 metres.
COSMIC SUN - was inclined to lay outwards throughout the run home. Driver D Dunn advised he was unable to activate the removable gear due to this.
GLENDHU GEM - the required Veterinary clearance was received. Broke briefly entering the first bend. Broke again near the 1200 metres losing ground. Stood down to trial on one occasion.
ABBY MAY - underwent and passed a pre-race Veterinary examination.
DELMARA - slow through the early stages. Weakened final stages.
KEN'S DREAM - broke rounding the first bend when placed in restricted room momentarily.
FAMILY NIGHT - broke after 150 metres. Hung inwards briefly and had to be steadied negotiating the first bend. Trotted roughly near the 250 metres.
MOMENT OF KAOS - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
BONNY REECE - broke after 100 metres then again entering the first bend and was retired from the event. Trainer A Hoffman advised it would be her intention to make significant changes to the mare's gear and return it to the workouts prior to racing next.
MASIES PRIDE - when questioned regarding the mares performance driver M Williamson explained that his horse was best suited when able to be driven from, or near to, the front however at this stage was not able to work in it's races so when considering this was not overly disappointed with it's efforts.

EDIE JACCKA - broke at the start. Driver B Barclay reported that one removable deafener had activated prematurely prior to the start.
LOISSONYA - broke at the start. Raced keenly through the middle stages. Held up rounding the final bend when trailing a weakening runner.
ITZ A MAJOR BABE - Trainer A Hoffman was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 after presenting the filly with incorrect gear. Broke briefly at the start. Paced roughly near the 1650 metres. Hung outwards throughout the home straight and was unable to be fully tested by Driver B Orange.
CHAAAT - paced roughly near the 1500 metres with this enabling ITZ A MAJOR BABE to shift inwards and take up the trailing position.
BOUND TO BE BETTOR - broke at the start.
AKRIS - weakened on the final bend.

IDEAL GAL - paced roughly late in the score-up.
EASTON FOXGLOVE - hung outwards during the latter stages of the score-up then through the early stages losing ground. Hung outwards abruptly and paced roughly near the 1200 metres.
BOTTEGA - weakened from the 500 metres inconveniencing a trailing runner. When questioned regarding the performance of this filly Trainer/Driver K Larsen could only advise he had been disappointment with it's efforts. Mr Larsen undertook to notify Stewards of anything which becomes apparent in the coming days that may help to explain the run.
BETSTARS BLUE JEAN - held up by tiring runner final bend.
CULLENS BAD GIRL - weakened on the final bend inconveniencing trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance Driver B Williamson advised that the filly had over-raced through the early stages taking its toll. A subsequent post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
ALLIE - held up by tiring runner final bend.
BULLYS PRINCESS - held up by tiring runner final bend.
TARTAN ROXY - raced wide from the 1200 metres. Weakened from the 500 metres.
THISLADYROCKS - raced wide through the middle stages until obtaining a leading position near the 1000 metres.

JAY FM - weakened from the 400 metres. Driver B Orange reported the gelding to have over-raced during the running which had taken it's toll when placed under pressure in the home straight.
EARTHBOUND - weakened from the 400 metres.
PAY ME THE CHANGE - inclined to hang inwards at various stages of the running.
JACKS N JAZZ - raced wide from the 1100 metres. Weakened final bend.

WHATA RAZZLE DAZZLE - hung inwards throughout the running.
HILARIOUS PRINCE - hung inwards and had to be steadied exiting the final bend placing MACH O'MELLEY in restricted room. Driver B Orange reported the gelding to have hung throughout the running. A warning was placed on it's racing record. Trainer J Harrington advised he would consider sending the gelding for a spell.
GREEN MACHINE - paced roughly and out of position at dispatch. A warning was placed on it's barrier record. Weakened from 500 metres.
NEVILL LANE - held up over the concluding stages.
GEORDIES BOY - hung inwards and paced roughly during the score-up and as a result was out of position at dispatch. A warning was placed against the geldings mobile barrier record. Struggled to maintain it's position with the field from the 900 metres. A further warning was placed on it's performance. Trainer G Shand advised the gelding would no longer be persevered with as a racing proposition from his stable.
OFFICIAL CULLEN - held up final bend.
TROMPEUR - held up rounding the final bend. Further held up over the final stages. Driver B Williamson advised he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners.
MACH O'MELLEY - Trainer E Murphy was fined $50.00 for failing to notify a change of gear by the prescribed time. Raced wide through the early stages. Weakened from the 400 metres and broke when awkwardly positioned to the inside of HILARIOUS PRINCE. Broke near the 250 metres.

JUST ONE GOOD ONE - held up final bend.
PAT CAMPBELL - Driver S O'Reilly reported the removable deafeners were unable to be activated due to the cord becoming entangled.
MAGNETIC WATCH - raced wide in the early stages until reaching the parked position near the 1800 metres.
REDDINGTON - raced wide in the early stages. Weakened from the 500 metres. Trainer D Trainor advised it would be his intention to freshen the mare.
HONOUR THE BET - raced keenly when being restrained to take cover near the 2100 metres. Continued to race keen thereafter.
PADDINGTON CENTRAL - was out of position at dispatch. Raced wide through the early and middle stages. Raced keen when being restrained to take cover near the 1800 metres. Raced fiercely thereafter and weakened from the 800 metres being retired from the event. Driver D Keast was of the opinion the gelding had choked down. A warning was placed on the horses racing record.
THE DIRECTOR - held up final bend.

DAIQUIRI - broke at the start and failed to settle losing it's chance.
JOUR HIGHNESS - broke at the start.
TAIMATE RAFFA - broke at the start and continued on in a gallop for a considerable distance. Driver T Chmiel was cautioned to ensure he takes breaking runners clear of the field at the earliest opportunity in future. Trotted roughly at various stages through the running. Weakened from the 400 metres.
JEDDY R YA READY - broke at the start losing it's chance.

MELINA LOWE - broke at the start and failed to settle for a considerable distance.
THE DOORMAN - escaped driverless for a distance prior to the start. Declared a late scratching at 8.18pm on Veterinary advice.
NO MORE CHANGE - broke briefly at the start and again after 200 metres losing ground. Held up throughout the run home.
MARTIN MCGUINNESS - held up throughout the run home.
LADY'S LASS - tangled away and was slow through the early stages. Over-raced through the middle stages. Held up rounding the final bend and lay inwards throughout the run home.

BARHAM BELLE - broke rounding the first bend losing it's chance and inconveniencing ARMORI.
SEA ROVER - inconvenienced briefly negotiating first bend.
MIDNIGHT FEVER - led by a distance through the running. Weakened over the concluding stages. Stewards questioned Driver B Williamson in regards to the tactics he had adopted during the running. Mr Williamson explained that the mare had broken at the start last week but in his opinion was a horse with considerable ability and would benefit from being driven in a positive manner. This, he said, was emphasised by other key rivals making slower beginnings and so he attempted to maximise his advantage of a fast beginning and dictate a strong tempo. He said the mare travelled comfortably without urgings throughout but that near the 1000 metres the horse had looked to shift out towards the stable so he encouraged her at that point. Not long after he first heard the horse making respiratory noise and did not persevere with her over the final stages. After a Veterinary examination the horse was stood down pending a clearance which is to include a dynamic scope.
BONO HEST - hung inwards and broke briefly negotiating the first bend. Held up in the early stages of the run home.
COCKTAIL WAITER - weakened from the 700 metres.
MADISON JANE - checked near the 650 metres.
ARMORI - inconvenienced by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
PARADISE SPUR - broke near the 650 metres inconveniencing a trailing runner.
FIRA - trotted roughly at various stages through the running.
BOURBON AND DRY - weakened final bend and broke near the 450 metres.

HONOUR SCROLL - hung inwards at various stages of the running. Weakened on the final bend.
GO GETTA - out of position at dispatch despite the efforts of Driver B Williamson. Struggled to maintain it's position with the field from the 700 metres. Driver B Williamson advised the gelding had raced lethargically throughout the running . A subsequent Veterinary examination revealed some minor lameness with a Veterinary examination to take place prior to next racing.
BETTOR B READY - held up rounding the final bend.
LINTON SHARD - raced wide in the early stages.
FIERY FERRET - paced roughly in the early stages.
