| GOTTA GET COURT - began awkwardly. Commenced to weaken from the 800 metres finishing a distance from the winner. A subsequent Veterinary examination of this gelding revealed no obvious abnormalities. Driver G Smith advised that he would be recommending gear changes. | |
| TIN ROOF BLUES - held up through the middle stages of the run home. Hung outwards near the 50 metres. | |

| SHADOW MINISTER - when questioned regarding the performance of this gelding Trainer/Driver L O'Reilly advised that the gelding had raced greenly at stages throughout the running and was not overly disappointed with its showing. He further advised that he expected SHADOW MINISTER to derive benefit from today's experience. | |
