GUPTA'S CULLEN - lay in throughout. Held up final bend. A post-race veterinary examination showed signs of lower respiratory inflammation. Stewards will follow up with Trainer R. Dunn in the coming days.
CHECK IN - improved wide near the 1400 metres to race outside the leader at the 1150 metres, made an unsuccessful attempt for the front until near the 800 metres before weakening on the final bend. Stewards questioned Driver D. Butcher as to whether he could have made an attempt to give his runner some respite through the back straight on the final occasion. Mr Butcher explained that the pace had eased considerably once the field had settled and so he had taken his runner forward to try and wrest the lead from ROYAL LINCOLN which had worked hard in the early stages. He added that when he had not been able to do so, he ceased urging his gelding forwards and allowed it to settle and was disappointed in the manner it finished off the race. Mr Butcher said that the gelding was better suited when able to be driven with a sit however due to the slow sectionals being dictated felt it in his best interests to improve.
ITALIAN DELIGHT - held up final bend.

Race 3SPEIGHTS SUMMIT ULTRA LOW CARB BEER HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video
LOVELY BUNDY - broke at the start and settled at the rear.
BILLY AT SALSA - trotted roughly early. Trotted roughly when held up on the final bend. Shifted ground inwards in search of clear running passing the 150 metres and trotted roughly over the final stages.

STEP UP - held up final turn, briefly locked wheels passing the 200 metres.
JUICE BROGDEN - sulky contacted briefly approaching the 2000 metres.
SEASWIFT JOY - lay in when being restrained early. Blundered in the early stages when placed in restricted room between AMERICAN TART and JUICE BROGDEN. Stewards questioned Drivers N. Chilcott, J. Stormont and J. Dunn and after considering submissions determined that both JUICE BROGDEN and AMERICAN TART had shifted ground marginally to affect SEASWIFT JOY which was hanging inwards. Accordingly no blame could be placed with any one horse or driver and the matter was taken no further.
DELISHKA - over-raced in the middle stages when racing outside the leader. Locked wheels after weakening passing the 200 metres.

Race 5MAJESTIC HORSE FLOATS GREENLANE TROTTING CUP (HANDICAP)Video  Video

Race 6CROMBIE LOCKWOOD BLOODSTOCK YG DELIGHTFUL LADY CLASSIC (MOB)Video  Video
ARMA INDIE - broke at the start losing its chance. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record.
COUNTESS OF ARDEN - hung inwards on the final bend and struck several pylons.
MILLWOOD GUCCI - out of position at the start. Driver B. Mangos explained that the filly had hung and after breaking last start he was reluctant to pressure it through the score up. He added that he would be adding a boring pole to the filly's gear prior to resuming.

Race 9AUCKLAND CO-OP TAXIS 300-3000 CITY OF AUCKLAND FFA (MOBILE)Video  Video
JACK'S LEGEND - broke near the 1950 metres but soon settled and was then restrained toward the rear. Struck several markers on the final bend when following JO'S DREAM which had lay inwards. Driver Z. Butcher explained that the off-side hopple shortener had released prematurely shortly after the start, so he attempted to activate the remaining shortener but was unsure whether it had released as the cord had become wrapped around the connecting strap and this resulted in the gelding becoming unbalanced and galloping. It was subsequently established that the pin had released before becoming entangled. The all clear was delayed until it was established that the gelding had not been in breach of the Breaking Horses Regulation.
JO'S DREAM - lay in and dislodged several marker pegs on the final turn.

Race 10IRT MOBILE PACEVideo  Video
LYNBAR ROSE - broke near the 1700 metres and settled at the rear.
