Race 8 - LLENOCO LTD JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
Junior driver M Hurrell admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) when permitting JACKS N JAZZ to improve up onto and strike the sulky of TO RI ALBY near the 700 metres, which in consequence caused his runner to break. After hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $300.

MISS BAMBOOCHA - broke near the 100 metres. A final warning was placed against the racing manners record of the mare.
GEE P S - shied and ran wide approaching the crossing near the 1600 metres when leading breaking briefly, losing ground. Inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 850 metres. Trotted roughly when placed under pressure over the final 300 metres.
SOUTH PARK - broke at the start.
WAYWARD ROC - broke shortly after the start, then paced when being restrained losing further ground.
NATHAN D - trotted roughly and broke near the 1100 metres, failing to settle for a considerable distance.

DREAMINSOVER - broke in the score-up at the first attempt however recovered to take up its allotted position at the dispatch point. Broke at the attempted re-start disrupting the second-line and necessitating a false start be declared. Driver C Ferguson elected to remain in his allotted position for the second restart. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier record. Broke near the 1700 metres when leading placing driver C Ferguson in some difficulty. Trainer R Austin advised the horse would not be tried on grass surfaces again. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
GOTTA GOOD LOOKER - lay outwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. Driver K Larsen was cautioned to ensure he makes a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the home straight.
ARTICULATE - paced roughly when negotiating the crossing near the 1600 metres and had to be steadied.
EASTON FOXGLOVE - broke late in the score-up checking second-line runners and necessitating a false start be declared. Driver D Dunn elected to remain in his allotted position for the restart. A warning was placed on the filly's mobile barrier record.
LADY'S LASS - raced wide in the early stages.
DISMARA - raced roughly in the early stages and again when negotiating the crossing near the 1600 metres. Broke for a short distance near the 1200 metres losing ground. Driver R McIlwrick reported the gelding had been unsuited to the grass surface.
SHINDAL - broke in the score-up however recovered to take up its allotted position at the dispatch point. After the second false start driver B Orange requested the gelding be placed on the Unruly where it will remain for its upcoming engagements. Broke in the third score-up losing ground. Trainer S Lock advised that it was his intention to make changes to the gelding's bit and return SHINDAL to the trials prior to resuming.
VINTAGE ROSE - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer R Gutsell advised the mare was unsuited to being driven in a forward position at the previous start and preferred where possible to race with cover which had eventuated on this occasion. Mr Gutsell added that the mare had been working well and had appreciated racing on the grass surface.

LITE PICCOLO - slow to begin. Held up for a distance passing the 400 metres.
AKRIS - held up rounding the final bend.
BETTORS ATOM - E Barron replaced S Tomlinson as the declared driver. Broke briefly in the early stages. Held up in the early stages of the home straight until near the 100 metres.
BETTOR ROCK AGAIN - broke briefly at the start.
CHANGE UP DULC - over-raced near the 1200 metres and had to be steadied when awkwardly positioned to the back of HEDONIST FRANCO. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the home straight.
HONOUR THE BET - lay inwards when placed under pressure passing the 200 metres having to be straightened.
IDEAL FOR SURE - began awkwardly.
MATAI JETSTAR - made the crossing near the 1600 metres awkwardly and had to be steadied for several strides.
WALK LIKE A MAN - inconvenienced by a breaking runner in the early stages.
EDIE JACCKA - paced roughly when negotiating the crossing near the 1600 metres having to be steadied. Held up rounding the final bend and throughout the home straight. Driver B Barclay reported that he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners applied to this filly due to being held up.

FRANCO EMPIRE - jumped the crossing near the 1600 metres when leading causing the field to become disorganised. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners record. Connections advised that a shadow roll would be applied to FRANCO EMPIRE for future racing.
DALI BREAD - inconvenienced near the 1600 metres. Lay inwards throughout the final straight when placed under pressure.
MISTY MEMORY - began awkwardly. Inconvenienced near the 1600 metres.
CANARDLY REMEMBER - inconvenienced near the 1600 metres.
HUNTERTON - inconvenienced near the 1600 metres. Observed to have blood present in one nostril on returning to the birdcage. A post-race endoscopic examination determined the gelding was not a bleeder with no further action required.
GOT A BEAUTY - K McNaught replaced S Tomlinson as the driver. Inconvenienced near the 1600 metres.
SHELBY BROMAC - began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages. Inconvenienced near the 1600 metres. Held up in the early stages of the home straight until near the 200 metres.
JACKS N JAZZ - slow through the early stages. Inconvenienced near the 1600 metres.
PASSION FLOWER - broke at the start. Inconvenienced near the 1600 metres.

REAL CHANGE - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the filly's mobile barrier record.
GOTTA BE DOWNTOWN - paced roughly when negotiating the crossing near the 1600 metres losing ground.
GLACIER COASTER - Junior driver E Barron reported she did not activate the removable deafeners applied to this filly.
DOVES SU - broke when negotiating the crossing near the 1600 metres losing its chance.
ME AND MY EXCUSES - broke when negotiating the crossing near the 1600 metres losing its chance.
MATINEE IDOL - hampered briefly by a breaking runner near the 1600 metres.
BETTERTHANBRIE - held up rounding the final bend.
ZENOLA'S ART - held up and was unable to secure clear running over the final 100 metres. Trainer K Barclay was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 when she presented this filly to race in incorrect gear.
Following the running of this event, dividends were withheld until the Stewards had reviewed the video footage of the start and were satisfied that second-line runners had not been impeded by the breaking runners.

OUR BUDD - held up rounding the final bend.
BONO HEST - broke at the start and settled near the rear of the field. Held up in the early stages of the home straight having to shift ground inwards passing the 100 metres to obtain clear running.
SCARLETT LANE - broke when negotiating the crossing near the 1600 metres.
MONIBURNS - trotted roughly over the crossing near the 1600 metres when leading, losing momentum for a short distance.
SVELT - held up rounding the final bend, then broke near the 250 metres.
HOPE AND PRAY - trotted roughly through the early stages losing ground.
COCKTAIL WAITER - driver C Buchan dropped his whip near the 200 metres when attempting to activate the removable gear applied to the gelding.
CRUSHER COLLINS - proved fractious behind the barrier prior to the start. Broke after 100 metres, then again when negotiating the crossing near the 1600 metres.
RYDGEMONT MILLY - Co-trainer M Shirley reported following the event the mare had flipped its palate and consideration would be given to undergo surgery in an attempt to rectify this issue.

LOMA JACCKA - broke leaving the final bend losing its chance with the trailing JOHN COLTRANE being hampered. When questioned regarding this driver B Barclay explained the mare had brushed a shin boot and become unbalanced.
MR KIWI - hung outwards and paced roughly near the 250 metres.
JOHN COLTRANE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 300 metres.
NAVAJO ART - J Morrison replaced S Tomlinson as the driver. Held up rounding the final bend.
BRIDESDALE ROBYN - held up on the final bend.
GROOMSMAN - raced wide without cover over the final 800 metres.

KAGEE VC - broke shortly after the start inconveniencing the trailing DUKE OF WELLINGTON. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier record. Paced roughly on the first bend. Held up for clear running in the early and middle stages of the home straight having to be heavily restrained near the 150 metres.
VON RICHTHOFEN - had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight and passing the 150 metres had to be steadied when becoming awkwardly positioned to the outside of KAGEE VC.
LIS AMORE - raced wide in the early stages. Held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
DUKE OF WELLINGTON - inconvenienced by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Paced roughly rounding the final bend.
IT'S A LAUGH - hung outwards and paced roughly entering the bend near the 900 metres.

ERIN JACCKA - held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. Junior driver J Campbell reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners applied to this mare due to the cord breaking.
GOTTA DEL - fractious behind the barriers causing a slight delay. Raced wide without cover throughout. Compounded from the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

GRACE O'MALLEY - broke when negotiating the crossing near the 1600 metres losing ground.
ACE COMMANDER - shifted outwards racing over the crossing near the 1600 metres losing ground.
DELESTIC - proved fractious prior to the start and retreated immediately prior to the tapes being released impeding the ability of STYLISH DUKE to start on terms with the field. A warning was placed on the mare's standing start record.
KING CASSIDY - trotted roughly in the home straight.
STYLISH DUKE - checked at the start taking no part in the race. Stewards sought a Ruling from the JCA pursuant to Rule 213(1)(j) as to whether STYLISH DUKE had received a fair start. After viewing replays and hearing from driver M Williamson, the Stewards and starter Mr B Ward the JCA were satisfied STYLISH DUKE had been denied a fair start and subsequently declared the gelding a non-runner.

GREY POWER - broke leaving the final bend near the 300 metres.

FIERY FERRET - lay outwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. Driver R McIlwrick was cautioned to ensure he makes a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the home straight.
THE MAROON MARAUDER - broke shortly after the start losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier record.
JEREMY JONES - held up throughout the home straight. Driver G Lee reported he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners applied to this gelding due to being held up.
ANSETT FLIGHT - raced four-wide from the 700 metres.
HURRICANE BANNER - E Barron replaced S Tomlinson as the driver. Held up on the final bend and throughout the home straight. Junior driver E Barron reported she was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners applied to this gelding due to being held up.
OSSESSIONE - held up throughout the home straight. Driver B Williamson reported he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners applied to this gelding due to being held up.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - raced fiercely in the early stages when being restrained.
RAH DE RAH - held up on the final bend and throughout the home straight. Driver B Barclay reported he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners nor sliding blinds applied to this gelding due to being held up.
