WRANGLER - trainer R Dunn has reported the gelding had shown signs of a respiratory infection subsequent to this race and been treated early in the week.

WRANGLER - hampered briefly by breaking runner passing the 550 metres.
CHECK IN - over-raced when being steadied near the 1200 metres. Inconvenienced near the 550 metres by a breaking runner and had to shift ground outwards.
ALOKA - broke passing the 550 metres when leading losing several lengths before settling. When questioned regarding this Driver S. Phelan explained that the colt had paced roughly for several strides shortly after the start but had then given no indication when travelling comfortably prior to breaking near the 550 metres. A post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the colt's racing record. Again raced roughly when under pressure on the final bend.

MAJESTIC ONE - broke near the 2400 metres losing ground.
OUR PETITE LADY - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
PRINCE GEORGE - held up on the final bend.
CYCLONE JOE PARKER - began awkwardly and then trotted roughly in the early stages having to be steadied.
LORD ROYDON - Trainer M. House was charged a colour fee of $25.00. Broke entering the first bend near the 2450 metres. Compounded entering the back straight on the final occasion and was not persevered with. Driver Z. Butcher reported the gelding to have choked down. A post race veterinary examination showed no abnormality.
BILLY AT SALSA - broke briefly at the start.
STORM CLOUD(AUS) - broke at the start.
MASS DESTRUCTION - broke near the 2200 metres losing considerable ground.
ALTA VENETIA - broke at the start. Trotted roughly in the middle stages. Broke near the 900 metres.

FRANCO CALIPH - weakened on the final bend.
HUNTER BROMAC - held up rounding the final turn.
GUPTA'S CULLEN - lay inwards throughout. Attempted to improve wide near the 700 metres but had difficulty due to hanging inwards, made the last bend poorly. Stewards questioned the connections regarding the mare's efforts. Trainer R. Dunn advised that it was his intention to make gear changes and draw dependent it would be his preference to have the horse driven in a more forwards position as he felt she was a more genuine prospect when placed closer to the pegs.
ROBB STARK - raced wide in the early stages.
RAIN MAN - raced roughly near the 1800 metres for several strides having to be steadied and losing ground in consequence.
BOPPER JET - removed from the unruly for mobile starts.

ON THE CARDS - the rein pricker was removed prior to the start at the request of Driver Z. Butcher. Held up on the final bend.
SICARIO - shifted out on straightening for the run home.
CHASE AUCKLAND - lay inward throughout the final straight.
 
Race 5SIMS PACIFIC METALS NORTHERN BREEDERS STAKES HANDICAP TROTVideo  Video 
LOVELY BUNDY - hung inwards on the first bend. Stewards questioned Driver Z. Butcher as to whether he could have made a better effort to hold the trailing position near the 2200 metres instead relinquishing that position to the improving SUNSET PEAK. Mr Butcher explained that previously his horse had raced best when not hurried in the early stages. He added that after breaking at its two most recent starts he was reluctant to pressure his runner at this stage preferring the mare to settle. Stewards accepted his comments.
ONE BID BUYS - held up on the final bend.
MAJESTIC ALI - raced roughly through the final straight.
SHADY SADIE - began awkwardly and lost ground.
PRINCESS MACKENDON - shifted inwards to gain clear running passing the 150 metres, however, in doing so raced inside the track markers to clear the weakening SUNSET PEAK. Stewards protested PRINCESS MACKENDON's second placing. After viewing the footage and considering all evidence the JCA disqualified PRINCESS MACKENDON. Driver T. Cameron was fined $450.00 for an associated charge under Rule 869(7A(b).
SUNSET PEAK - carried a flat tyre throughout.
YAGUNNAKISSMEORNOT - when questioned regarding the mare's performance Driver J. Dunn explained the mare had been unsuited to working through the middle stages especially when taking into account its 30 metre handicap. Trainer R. Dunn advised that despite this, he had been disappointed with her efforts and it was his intention to have blood tests taken in the coming days. Mr Dunn undertook to notify Stewards of any irregularity.

The race was delayed by one minute at the request of the TAB.
FOREVER PEARL - broke shortly after the start losing ground before settling. A warning was placed on this filly's barrier record. Over-raced middle stages when towards the rear.
IVANA FLYBYE - broke at the start and shifted inwards abruptly checking trailing runners and losing its chance. The filly was stood down pending one satisfactory mobile trial. Trainer S. Telfer advised it was his intention to freshen the filly.
RUEBE STAR - inconvenienced as the start was effected.
KOTARE CULLEN - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners. Raced wide in the early stages.
GOLD ORCHID - checked and raced roughly shortly after the start losing ground.
BETTOR JOY - heavily checked after the start losing considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination showed the filly had sustained a minor wound lateral to the right hind fetlock. Held up on the final bend having to shift ground inwards to improve its position.
DIZZY MISS LIZZY - when questioned regarding the filly's performance Driver B. Orange could only advise he had been disappointed with her efforts over the final stages. A post race veterinary examination showed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with Trainer N. McGrath in the coming days.
 
Race 7BRECKON FARMS YOUNG GUNS SERIES HEAT 5 (MOBILE PACE)Video  Video 
FRANCO NIVEN - raced three wide early. Broke approaching the 1100 metres and settled at the rear. A warning was placed on the colt's racing record. Trainer R. Dunn advised the colt would be relocated to his Canterbury barn and would trial prior to resuming.
STAR OF MONTANA - raced three wide from the 1100 metres.
JESSE DUKE - raced three wide early. Broke approaching the 200 metres losing its chance. Driver and Co-Trainer M. Purdon advised the colt had become unbalanced when shifting wider on the final bend to improve its position. A post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormality.
MAKE WAY -Trainer R. Green was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the colt with removable deafeners which were not notified. Broke approaching the 250 metres.

SEA CHANGE - held up on the final turn.
ARMA INDIE - held up on the final turn.
MILLWOOD GUCCI - lay inwards in the early stages and made contact with the sulky wheel of ANAMAJOR causing the filly to break and lose all chance.
STARSKI - raced three wide early. Lay inwards and raced roughly near the 800 metres causing the filly to lose some ground and its racing position.
BUBBLED UP - raced three wide early and middle. Lay outwards through the final straight.
MISS STREISAND - raced three wide early and middle.
GARTA - over-raced throughout. Held up on final turn.

BRO FAWKES S - lay in and dislodged a marker peg near the 800 metres.
DJOKOVIC - broke passing the 200 metres checking a trailing runner.
LEMOND -broke entering the first turn losing ground. Checked and broke passing the 200 metres.

ENGLISH ROSE - when questioned regarding the mare's improved performance the connections advised that the horse had derived considerable benefit from the application of spreaders for tonight's race.
HAPPY PLACE - when questioned regarding the efforts of his gelding trainer T Vince advised he had been disappointed with the performance after a recent encouraging workout. He said it was his intention to take blood tests in the coming days and undertook to notify Stewards of any irregularities.
SACRED ANGEL - weakened on the final bend. Trainer R. Dunn advised he had been disappointed with her efforts and that it was his intention to have blood tests taken of which he would notify results to Stewards. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
STAND SURE - badly held up on the final bend.
