GIRLS LET LOOSE - trotted roughly in the early stages. Locked wheels with WINTERFELL after 150 metres and broke. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
LONE STAR LAD - shifted out near the 1200 metres forcing LOVEY DOVEY MOMENT to race wider on the track. Driver C DeFilippi admitted a breach of Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) - the Push Out Rule. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Mr DeFilippi's Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 4 March 2018 up to and including 11 March 2018 (2 days). Lay inwards in the home straight.
CHIEF OF STAFF - broke in the early stages.

WINTERFELL - co-trainers M Purdon & N Rasmussen were issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 after WINTERFELL was presented with the incorrect saddle cloth number. Locked wheels with GIRLS LET LOOSE after 150 metres when crowded to the inside of the breaking CHIEF OF STAFF and had to be steadied. Raced four wide from the 950 metres. Trotted roughly and broke over the concluding stages. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had broken inside the 50 metres and was not in breach of the Breaking Horse Regulations.
DOLLY JONES - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
KIWI HEIR - refused to move away at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record. Trainer/driver C McDowell advised that the horse would be restricted to mobile starts where possible in the immediate future.
MAJESTIC HURRICANE - lay inwards in the home straight.

CHAIN REACTION - raced wide in the early stages.

HURRANIA THREE - weakened from the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the filly in the coming days.
DARK RAGE - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
LILAC CHANGE - raced wide in the early stages. Over-raced passing the 1200 metres. Held up by a tiring runner near the 700 metres.
KEY REACTOR - raced wide from the 1200 metres. Gave ground from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding in the coming days.
SMOKIN BY - raced four wide for a distance passing the 1100 metres. Driver M Anderson reported he did not activate the removable deafeners.

RAKSBET - Driver J Curtin advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.

THREE PLY - broke after 100 metres and shifted in checking CHANGE IS GOOD and ANYTIME. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.

CHRISTIE MARIE - over-raced final bend. Held up early stages of the run home.
LIMOSO - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
