FULL HERBS - when questioned regarding his tactics not to utilise the passing lane driver M Williamson explained that the gelding had hung outwards when he had attempted to improve to the inside in the early stages of the home straight causing him some difficulty. Mr Williamson added that as a result he elected to shift outwards in search of clear running. | |

TWO PLY - Trainer B Williamson was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after presenting the gelding to race without the notified blinds. Mr Williamson reported that the horse had sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running and cast a front shoe. | |

MAGICAL MATTY - raced wide in the early stages. Hung inwards and over raced near the 600 metres becoming awkwardly placed to the inside of JAKIRA which was improving forward to the parked position, resulting in MAGICAL MATTY breaking and locking wheels with the trailing LORRETTA FRANCO. Stewards questioned drivers L McKay (in the presence of Senior Horseman R Close) and M Lewis (in the presence of Senior Horseman B Williamson) regarding this incident and after hearing evidence and viewing the films were unable to apportion blame to any one driver and no further action was warranted. | |
