Pre-race blood testing was carried out. Trainer M Hallett was questioned regarding her intentions to start TUFFLITTLEROOSTER in Race 4 on today's track after scratching the horse at the Akaroa TC meeting on 11 December 2016 when racing on a Dead track. Ms Hallett explained that the horse had been cross-firing in its races and for this reason she was reluctant to start the horse on a Dead track at that time. Ms Hallett added that the horse has had corrective shoeing since which has improved its gait and as a result the gelding is now more comfortable when on a rain-affected track. This information was passed on through the appropriate channels. |
